Popular Reviews

War by U2

U2 at their first peak, in this case post-punk, new wave.

Paul Simon by Paul Simon
May 23 2023

Fun little soft rock album. The 2 blues songs are weirdly not very bluesy but as a whole, it was inoffensive and heartfelt

Highway to Hell by AC/DC
May 24 2023

Factory issue, official seal, AC/DC hard rock. Obviously less technically impressive than your Motorheads or Van Halens, but it's solid fun hard rock.

Jun 06 2023

Sam's energy and chemistry with both the band and crowd is amazing. He's just electric. The songs are proven standards, and Bring It on Home is a solid tent pole, but the live flow of the setlist is well done. The back 5 basically are one big medley

Siembra by Willie Colón & Rubén Blades
Jun 08 2023
To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar
Jun 09 2023

The album that got me into hip hop. Even if you took away the lyrics, the beats are amazing, it's an honest to God jazz rap album.

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Jun 14 2023

Unpretenious, likeable 70s rock. The guitar lines are the highlight, but you really do get a sense of it being a full band effort and not just Tom and some hangers on.

Step In The Arena by Gang Starr
Jun 15 2023

Slighty more low key Public Enemy circa 1991, with both the old school production and the Nation of Islam loyalties

Something/Anything? by Todd Rundgren
Jun 16 2023

Lotta music on this one. Most of it is good, but a lot

Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush
Jun 19 2023

Beautiful pop album, the 2 halls could be great EPs alone but together it's a great 1 2 punch of hits and storytelling

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
Jun 27 2023
Risque by CHIC
Jul 12 2023

Surprisingly not the all in disco album. The 3 singles are very fun and funky but the rest of the album is more "conventional" R&B.

In A Silent Way by Miles Davis
Jul 20 2023

Loaded cast. Tight setlist. The album that helped usher in jazz fusion. Hell yes

War by U2
Aug 01 2023

U2 at their first peak, in this case post-punk, new wave.

Illmatic by Nas
Aug 07 2023

Very strong beats, combined with good flows and rhymes. Classic for a reason. Also, the Ahmad Jamal sample
