1001 Albums Summary

A slice of nostalgia from my days as a teenage skateboarding wannabe punk. The opening half of the album is still great and the latter half still kind of falls flat. Not going to find anything too deep or profound here. They knew their audience - angsty, anti-establishment teens.

Classic mid 90s hip hop. Still slaps

Enjoyable background music but otherwise way too long

Iconic. Some songs are still great. Others less so. The beats definitely feel dated.

Never been a big fan of prog rock. Tom Sawyer is a good song at least

A peaceful, beautiful journey through life that ends up feeling a little disjointed with the second side

Adele is an absolute legend

An album I enjoyed as a teenager but one that hasn’t aged well. Not sure if it’s because songs like Scar Tissue and Californication have been played to death on every rock station across the country or if it’s the lyrics or Anthony Keidis’ voice or what but I just can’t stomach it anymore

If you forget the fact that Morrissey is an asshole it’s a decent album but…Morrissey is an asshole.

I’ve never listened to an entire Elvis album. I can see why he was such a hit. Very catchy pop rock

A bit too cheesy 80s dance music for me

I forgot about this band. Solid indie rock that holds up well

Depressing grunge

Kendrick’s age shows on this one. There’s some bangers for sure but it’s mostly just your typical gangster rap themes - robberies, drive bys, getting drinks etc.

Can’t stand her voice.

Haven’t listened to much Hugh Masekela. It’s a good album. Makes me want to check out more of his stuff

I can think of more iconic (politically and culturally) reggae albums but it’s still quite good

I like jazz but didn’t get too excited with this album. It’s an ok album but nothing really stood out to me. Enjoyable as background jazz
