Live! by Fela Kuti
Nov 06 2023

Great jams

Nov 08 2023

Decent cover album My Girl has trancended it's original version, but most songs don't eclipse the original Also interesting to hear Respect as Aretha Franklin heard it too

Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette
Nov 10 2023

Not overly drawn in by this one. I like the hits as I've heard them before but the songs inbetween fall short Also the production style in most of the songs make it seem like the instrumentation takes a backseat to her vocals, despite there being some great instrumentation. The mixing has Alanis at the forefront of everything, which makes it sound separated

Doggystyle by Snoop Dogg
Nov 14 2023

Whilst I like hip hop, I've never been convinced that it was a genre of music that could lend itself to the album format This album has changed my mind. It flows, it's cohesive and every song is great.

Arc Of A Diver by Steve Winwood
Nov 15 2023

High tier classic soft rock. Just a shame that I'm not a fan of soft rock :(

Kind Of Blue by Miles Davis
Nov 16 2023

This is a well storied album. Nothing more that can be said than completely revolutionary

Copper Blue by Sugar
Nov 17 2023

Only got around to listening to half of the album. That being said, there are some tasty jams here. Incredible songwriting in what I've heard so far and it hits a realy deep part of my dopamine production when songs flow into the next. Will keep this in my rotation for sure

Nov 20 2023

I was familiar with some of the songs on this album already. They never stood out to me to begin with, and that remains true for the rest of the album I respect the musicianship and production quality of the record, but their writing style doesn't quite scratch my brain

Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf
Nov 21 2023

Didn't expect to listen to meat loaf pretend to have sex in a car at the tail

Gold by Ryan Adams
Nov 23 2023

Too many albums like this on this list. I'm not a fan of soft rock to be fair

Axis: Bold As Love by Jimi Hendrix
Nov 27 2023

Literally nothing I can say about this album other than it's completely timeless and a display of sheer brilliance and masterty of a tool. Jimi was something else

Back To Black by Amy Winehouse
Nov 28 2023

It's a classic. Rare example of what I think a perfect album sounds like Ronson's work leading the backing band really elevates her lyrics and adds a haunting element to the band. Super tragic story overall

S&M by Metallica
Dec 01 2023

Quite frankly, I don't believe compilation and live albums should belong on this list

Violator by Depeche Mode
Dec 05 2023

Well rounded album, great use of synths not just as instruments but also as soundscape devices to help deliver the feeling of a song. Earliest that I've ever heard of bands doing it in the way they have. I can now understand some Depeche Mode influence from in places like the work that Troy Van Leeuwen does for QotSA

Want Two by Rufus Wainwright
Dec 07 2023
Kollaps by Einstürzende Neubauten
Dec 20 2023
The Specials by The Specials
Dec 21 2023

ska isn't my thing. I can't get the 'what 13 year olds hear in their head when they get an extra mozarella stick' joke out of my head when I listen to it

Jan 29 2024

Amazing songs from time to time. There's a lot of bloat on the album, makes it tough as a single listen
