Machine Gun Etiquette by The Damned
Dec 03 2023

After hearing the Sex Pistols when I was a teenager I wrote of all punk rock. I wish I had heard this album back then in 1977 because I really like this. Today I also listened to The Black Album and it is also great. While the Pistols were simple straightforward verses, The Damned hav fully developed verses, choruses and Bruges and their vocal harmonies are fantastic. This is for me thinking man’s punk.

Hysteria by Def Leppard
Dec 07 2023

This is my favorite album overall for the 1980s. This is the album that I listen to most of all from that decade and only second to The Who, Quadrophenia. Hysteria blew me away when it first came out in 1987. The production was the best I ever heard and nothing since then has overtaken it. Mutt Lange was at his peak and his pushing the band members paid off.

Dig Me Out by Sleater-Kinney
Dec 13 2023

I actually like the singer. Wikipedia says people either love or hate her voice. On the other hand, the band sounds like the first time they played was when they recorded this album.

Protest singers should be judged by the reality of the things they advocate for. In the last thirty years, every issue this blockhead sang for has come to fruition and England is a hell hole for it.

Elvis Is Back by Elvis Presley
Dec 21 2023

Still holds up to this day

Joan Armatrading by Joan Armatrading

Surprised that I enjoyed this as much as I did.

Abraxas by Santana
Jan 02 2024

If it weren’t for Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac, this anti-American would be smuggling drugs and people across the border.

Dookie by Green Day

Childish posturing obviously, as we learned about them.

Jan 16 2024

Great band - great music! The reason I signed up for this is precisely so that I can discover new favorites from the past! Until today I had never heard of them.

School's Out by Alice Cooper
Jan 17 2024

You get a couple of classic tracks that the world can sing the words to, but it’s impossible for me to listen to the entire album. Very disjointed.

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac

Distasteful yet very listenable

The Soft Bulletin by The Flaming Lips
Mar 11 2024

Fantastic. I had never heard of them before I saw them at Joe Walsh’ VETSAID concert a few months ago. They are worth the ticket on their own.

Band On The Run by Paul McCartney and Wings
Mar 12 2024

Paul was easily the most talented Beatle. A multi instrumentalist and songwriter with the most hits in the band and as a solo artist.

Elephant by The White Stripes
Mar 13 2024

Really grows on you .

Music From Big Pink by The Band
Mar 14 2024

One of the best and most influential mashup of Americana, folk, and Rock and Roll.

I Against I by Bad Brains
Mar 16 2024

Surprisingly good. Great production.
