Heroes to Zeros
The Beta BandVery boring, very generic and nothing that hasn’t been done better by those that came before.

Strong opener with 'And It Stoned Me' that grabs your attention right away. Next up is Moondance which takes a completely different direction from the opener, not my usual choice of listening but a good song nonetheless. Overall enjoyable album.
Was happy to see this album appear, as a casual fan of Wu Tang I’m not overly familiar with members solo albums beyond ODB and Method Man. GZA has an absolutely immaculate flow and the overall vibe and feeling of the album encapsulates early 90s rap in a timeless way
What is there to say about Play that hasn’t been said before? One of the most important and influential albums of all time. Honey is an all time classic opener and the quality never relents. With the song Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad? You can clearly hear where a group like Chase & Status would derive their sound from. I could talk about this album all day, but just listen to it and enjoy it for what it is. Perfect.
While I can’t say this is an objectively bad album, it certainly isn’t something that captured my attention in anyway.
One of the all time great rap albums from one of the greatest musicians who ever lived. Some of the most memorable features in rap history. An absolute must listen for all fans of music.
Not my usual cup of tea. Some huge songs that were absolutely massive at the time and helped take the band to the level they’re at now. Hasn’t aged terribly well for me and not an album I’d choose to listen to again.
Had zero prior knowledge of this band or album and wow, out of nowhere, an extremely interesting and I imagine progressive album for the time. Influences of rock n roll and some hints and the punk scene that was the come in the following years. A very cool album that I’d happily revisit again and share with others.
Maybe I wasn’t in the mood, but I found this album incredibly boring. Not for me at all. Can’t really say much about it. Struggle to get through and no memorable moments for me.
Wonderful album, at just under half an hour it’s an easy listen with many memorable moments. I Love You Because & Blue Moon stood out to me more than the rest. The album sometimes felt like it had odd pacing for its length, sometimes slowing down for too long, but the songs themselves are all great.
A fairly boring album that didn’t have any real high points for me. While I can hear what they’re doing and why people might enjoy it. It just isn’t for me.
Enjoyable album, my first real exposure to Billy Joel and was pretty much in line with what I expected from him having only heard his bigger singles before. Highlight for me was “only the good die young” and the rest were good if fairly forgettable.
I don’t have much to say except that yes, this is an album you should listen to and experience.
Didn’t find too much interesting with this album. Not objectively bad, but not for me.
This album caught me by total surprise. Threw it on while working out in the gym and it ended up playing through twice while I worked out. Thoroughly enjoyable.
An album the defines the sound of the UK in the 90s. An all time classic in its genre. Breathe, Firestarter and Smack My Bitch Up are among the most well known electronic songs of all time but the quality of this album runs much deep than its singles. Songs like Narayan and Fuel My Fire offer some slightly different sounds and vibes that create a complete and varied album that I would consider a must listen for all fans of music.
Despite being Scottish I somehow have never heard of Cocteau Twins until now. This was a cool album, especially for the time, the strange vocal style captures you immediately. Easy listen but nothing that blew me away.
An absolute classic from start to finish. While the three biggest songs from this album are among the most well known and popular songs of their era, this album is great song after great song. Without Love & I’d Die For You could’ve been huge singles had they been released as such at the time. A true five star album by every metric for me. You can’t listen to this album and not help but smile.
It’s a Christmas album.
Very disappointed in this album. Blur are a band I’ve known about since the heyday of Brit-pop but I’ve never taken the plunge into their catalogue. While the genre in itself has never been something I’ve had much interest in exploring I’ve never had an awful experience with it, until now. I found Albarns vocals insufferable and the music uninspired. If I had to pick a best of the worst I’d go for Star Shaped but even then I can’t say I’d seek to listen to it again.
It was a decent listen. Nothing spectacular and nothing to write home about.
Very easy to listen to/feel good album. Not something I’d ever have chosen to listen to before this generator but I’m glad it came up, I’ll certainly be more open minded towards Jazz having listened to this.
Everyone has those bands, that for whatever reason they just don’t “get”. U2 are one of those bands for me. Just utterly boring and dull.
This album was superb, I was familiar with the big songs from The Undertones but nothing else. Full of energy and not one song felt like filler. The only knock on this for me is its length. Too many songs for how short they generally are.
Stevie is the man. Great album. Pure funk goodness that you can’t help but move along to.
Very boring, very generic and nothing that hasn’t been done better by those that came before.
One of the most iconic and well known albums of all time. Some of the most recognisable rock n roll songs and guitar parts ever created. Simple rock music for the radio done perfectly. While not as good or as interesting as some of the genres other heavyweight bands were releasing at the time, it’ll go down as one of the greats due to its ease of access and ability to draw in casual fans. So while it is an album the everyone should hear at least once, its simplicity, which gives it its success, keeps it from being a perfect album for me, it just doesn’t have enough interesting, new or unique parts that keep me going back. The absolute definition of radio rock by the numbers, but it is probably the best to ever do that exact thing.
While fairly pleasant to listen to it felt like little more than elevator or hold music. While I don’t know enough about the genre to say it’s objectively bad I found very little to cling on to with this.
This one caught me off guard. I hadn’t enjoyed any of the Brit pop/indie style bands that had come up so far. This however was superb, some absolutely classic songs that I had no idea belonged to The Stone Roses. I ended up listening to their follow up album too and also enjoyed it. Superb.
The big singles are some of the all time classic British sing alongs. The album filler tracks didn’t quite grab me as much although I did enjoy the opener “hello” very much. Good album and I understand the hype, even if it’s not for me.
Cool album if nothing special or unique to them. I have no real strong opinions on it either way. Just a solid easy to listen to album.
Was excited to see this one pop up but didn’t think very much of it. Nothing special and this exact thing has been done better by others.
Pretty enjoyable. Something I’d quite happily listen to again. Easy to listen to and enjoy despite being different from what I’d normally choose to listen to.
Very cool album, encapsulates 90s RnB/Rap absolutely perfectly. If I had one complaint it would be that the songs are a little long, which can cause some slight boredom towards the ends of some of the longer tracks. 6:00 it’s too long for this style of RnB.
Another boring and uninspired mid 90s britpop group. Fast losing interest in this challenge, all just different shades of the same garbage.
Not my cup of tea but I can recognise the talent of Talking Heads.
Nice easy listen. Dont know if I’d revisit it but I can recognise why people would be drawn over and over to this album
Not objectively bad but not for me. Got 4 songs in and was too bored so had to leave early.
Cool album that I enjoyed right off the bat. Dragged on a bit long for me due to the lack of diversity in sounds.
One of the most sinfully boring albums I’ve ever even attempted to listen to.
Nice change of pace from what I’ve had so far on the list. Pretty easy listen. No strong opinions either way but overall enjoyable.
I found very little of this album interesting. Nothing really to say beyond that.
A band I’d always intended to listen to but had always put off. Very enjoyable and full of energy. Feels very ahead of its time and Jeff Beck’s guitar work is superb, particularly for 1966. Psycho Daisies & Lost Women were the stand out tracks for me.
I’m going to take note and revisit this album in a few months as I think I the proper mood for it is really enjoy it. Barrytown was the stand out for me on the first listen. Very enjoyable despite not feeling it!
While I can appreciate what this is. It is not for me and didn’t strike me in any particular way.
I thought this was a pretty boring affair as far as Muse go. Nothing overly memorable for me, not bad by any stretch, just utterly forgettable.
Cool album, not something I’d ever pick up outside of this list. Can’t say I’d recommend it to someone but pretty cool listen.
Has a few highlights but a fairly boring and derivative 2000s pop album. Not close to her best work and notas bad as her worst.
Waiting rooms are fine.
This album was a whole lot of fun from start to finish. Wasn’t overly familiar with too much Willie but off the back of this terrific album I’ll certainly listen to him from time to time.
Unbelievable performance on this one from Deep Purple. Absolute masters of their craft. The performance in particular of Child In Time here is complete and utter perfection. Everything that rock n roll is supposed to be done absolutely perfectly by one of the best bands to ever string up their instruments. For me this is among the greatest live albums of all time and a must listen for any fan of rock music.
The highs of this album are as high as any, however some of the slower, quieter moments stop it from being perfect for me. Maybe the greatest opener of any album ever.
