The Good, The Bad & The Queen
The Good, The Bad & The QueenAbsolutely amazing album, one of my favorites. I remember listening to this album while traveling around the UK. Will forever be a 5/5 for me.
Absolutely amazing album, one of my favorites. I remember listening to this album while traveling around the UK. Will forever be a 5/5 for me.
I'm not familiar with Jane's Addiction, but have heard of them. Interested to listen to an album of theirs all the way through. Honestly, pretty meh rock. Nothing really stands out here as being all that interesting. The album ended and I didn't even realize it. It really didn't grab my attention. 2/5
Extremely underrated Radiohead album in my opinion. I know that it doesn't have as continuous a flow as most of their work, but I love the passion in this album and it has some of my favorite tracks from them ('There, There', 'A Wolf At the Door', '2+2=5'). 4/5
1. Born on the Bayou - Amazing opener, love the passion in his (John Fogerty's) voice. Fairly simple guitar solo work, but love the fuzziness of the production overall. Kind of funny that these guys formed in CA but are singing about LA (Louisiana). 2. Bootleg - Fast paced, upbeat song. Lyrics kind of funny, nonsensical. Again, fairly simple, straightforward guitar solo work (still enjoyable). 3. Graveyard Train - Slower song, nice vibe. It's kind of long, doesn't really go anywhere... this song could have been 1/3 the length probably. Fun harmonica solo. 4. Good Golly Miss Molly - Fun song more reminiscent of late 60s pop with a bit more grunge/fuzz to it. 5. Penthouse Pauper - Another solid rock song, fun lyrics around not quite making it yet. 6. Proud Mary - One of Fogerty's best songs. Big wheel keep on turning. An easy favorite from this album. 7. Keep on Chooglin - Another long song that sort of just meanders and doesn't do as much building as a song of that length should (IMO). Overall this album has some real standouts but also does drag at points. I'm going to be a bit harsh with my ratings given the magnitude of this endeavour. 3/5
Starts off with quite a bang, much more high energy than I was expecting it to start. Lots of beautiful ballads and performances here. The big band backing is perfectly arranged, lots of crescendos and emotional mirroring between Ray and the band. Back half of the album certainly slows some, but still has beautiful songs. 3/5
Beautiful jazz with a wonderful marriage of electronic and horn instruments. Really great background music while working/studying. Gives good energy throughout but also has calmer/relaxing moments. Particular highlights: Maseru, Part of a Whole, Inner Crisis Overall very enjoyable, but not my favorite jazz. 3/5
This album starts with Movin' out which is probably my favorite Billy Joel song. The whole album is really great from start to finish, it feels almost like a 'Best of' with all of the recognizable songs.
Not my cup of tea, but there's some interesting musical motifs throughout. Weird reference to West Side Story in 'Don't tread on me' that felt both really on the nose and clumsily executed. Most songs are way too long, don't really have much purpose in being as bloated as they are. I still recognize the impact this album has had in music generally and in the metal genre specifically. 2/5
Fantastic album, not my favorite Floyd but still really incredible. 4/5
Early doo-wop Elvis, still lots of fun and one of the best of this genre. He does a cover of Fever on this album that's really good. Overall a fun listen but nothing too musically interesting/new. 3/5
An artist I've always liked when I listen to him/them but never gave them the full attention they deserve. Really love the opening song, 'My My Hey Hey,' sets a great tone for the rest of the album, but there are a lot of very slow moments where the album drags for me a bit. Other notable songs: Powderfinger, Welfare Mothers, Sedan Delivery. I love the return to Hey Hey My My at the end, really ties the album together. Interesting how the second half of this album is much more energetic than the first half. Still not the best I've heard from this generation/genre. 3/5
Heard it many times before. Not my favorite from Radiohead but there's lots to love here and hint at where they're going. 3/5
Very different from what I was expecting. Running with the Devil is a great opener. Odd doo-wop bit in 'I'm the One'. The did a cover of You Really Got Me that felt totally unnecessary, they did almost nothing new or original with it to warrant it being on an already short album. 2/5
This is not a band I'm familiar with at all, but their Wikipedia page makes them sound really interesting. They're a ton of fun, great 90s pop rock. They did Lovefool ('Love me love me / say that you love me / fool me fool me / go on and fool me')! Includes a pretty 'meh' cover of Iron Man. Overall still really enjoyable. 3/5
Another artist that I wish I was more familiar with. I really love all of the intensity throughout this album. Her influences on some of my favorite artists are clear. Definitely one that I want to revisit frequently. 4/5
Great sophomore album from these guys - lots of wonderful songs including a favorite that I forget about, 'Up on Cripple Creek'. Great 60s rock though it doesn't really feel like anything is too earth-shatteringly experimental, especially considering everything else going on at that time, but it's still a great album. 3/5
This is one that I actually have on vinyl, but Otis Redding's stuff generally isn't in my rotation often enough. A great impetus to listening to this album. There's a lot of great songs on here, mostly covers. While he does a great job with them this does leave me wanting more. 2/5
This is an album I have but don't think I've ever listened to it. From the jump they're giving decent rock vibes. They have a song called 'Androgynous' that is incredibly progressive even by today's standards, that's pretty awesome. The rest of the album is decent. 3/5
Another artist that I would like to become more familiar with. This album is pretty good, but nothing that really is blowing me away on first listen. Some interesting, experimental stuff. The droning and swelling in 'Driving Me Backwards' is pretty cool. Lots of really interesting choices on this, actually. The more I listen the more it grows on me. Interesting stuff throughout 'Dead Finks Don't Talk' from the weird 'OH NO' shouting to the crazy electronic outro. This is one I'd love to revisit. 4/5
Obviously aware of these guys due to 'Groove is in the Heart.' Not a huge fan, let's see if the whole album can change my mind in anyway... Honestly I try not to judge albums on the artwork, because there are some awesome albums with boring/weird artwork, but this stuff is pure 90s pop nonsense so it doesn't look good from the jump. The intro was some weird attempt at hype-hop. The second song is literally called 'Good Beat' and it sounds like a Good Vibrations attempt. It's incredibly repetitive and not very good. Terrible weird 'zcat' with zoo-ahs throughout the outro. This song is terrible and it's way too fucking long. This is torture. Not a huge fan. Nothing else on this album is really grabbing me, either. The song 'What is Love?' is a weird, long, boring nothingness of synth farts. I literally laughed out loud at the weird 'It's Limited' lyric in the title track. Some bad rapping in this song. Gosh this is genuinely bad. I just read that Hancock was involved in this album and it almost makes me lose a bit of respect for him, that's how much I dislike this. The only good part of this album is Q-Tip's verse on 'Groove is in the Heart' 1/5
I've never really paid attention to Steely Dan before, so this will be good. It's mostly fine/decent rock. Nothing here really blows me away but it is fun and I'm encouraged to listen to more from them. 3/5
Never really gave Iggy Pop much attention before. 'Lust for Life' is immediately recognizable, had no idea i) what this song was called, ii) that Iggy Pop wrote/sang it and iii) that it was this old! Great song, wonderful way to start the album. Then we immediately go to 'Sixteen' which feels VERY dated... 'show you my explosion / sweet sixteen' are lyrics that are hard to listen to in 2024 and this track alone is likely to lose the album a star. Track 4 is 'Passenger,' another song I recognize and like. I'm surprised by the number of songs I know here. The rest of the album was pretty meh... 3/5
Never heard of this artist or album. Not my favorite electronica/trip-hop but it's definitely interesting and different. I'm not sure if this influenced electronic artists I like (Aphex Twin, Flying Lotus, DJ Shadow) or if they influenced this, but there are definitely some shared aspects in here. 2/5
I owned this CD, listening again was quite the nostalgia trip! Honestly, not as good as I remember, though Drive is still a fun listen. 2/5
I'm not familiar with this 'Aussie punk rock' band. This is a really interesting album, I'm liking a lot of what I'm hearing. 'Memories are Made of This' is a great song. Really cool/trippy vocal effects on 'International Robots', the closing track. I want to to listen to more of their stuff. Definitely a good one. 3/5
While I recognize a lot of the songs off this album I have never listened to it all the way through. That said, I know it's going to be a good one, between 'Black Magic Woman' and 'Oye Como Va' there are some real bangers. A really fun listen, but not necessarily my favorite. 3/5
I was never a big Green Day fan, but like some of their songs. 'When I Come Around' is still an enjoyable song, but the rest of the album was kind of meh. Not one I'll likely revisit. 2/5
Ugh. This thing is so fucking bloated. Halfway through I was over it and it JUST KEPT GOING. 1/5
I love the Talking Heads and have to be honest, this isn't an album I'm as familiar with as some of their others. It's really phenomenal, lots of the wonderfully groovy pop-art that I've always loved from this group. Obviously Psycho Killer is a standout, but there's lots of great tracks on here. Definitely one that I'll need to revisit more often when I'm in the mood for the Talking Heads. 4/5
I've never heard of this artist, looking forward to something new. Really interesting trip-hop/rock... hard to pin this down in a genre. Apparently Nitin Sawhney is also a composer and producer. I will have to try and check out more of his work. A lot of this is really good, especially for background music while working, but it's not my favorite. 3/5
I'm obviously aware of the hits off this album but haven't heard the rest of it before. It's fine, not something I'm likely to revisit, though. 2/5
Absolute classic. I used to listen to the CD in my car all the time. I'll relisten now, too, though. The only thing keeping this from being a perfect 5/5 is that it does feel a bit bloated. While I appreciate the consistency and cohesiveness in the themes, musically and lyrically, throughout the entire album it still feels a bit long. 4/5
I'm not familiar with this particular ABBA album, but do really enjoy what I know from ABBA, so I'm excited to check this album out. This album is full of great pop songs, lots of fun to just groove to. 3/5
Absolutely amazing album, one of my favorites. I remember listening to this album while traveling around the UK. Will forever be a 5/5 for me.
I had no idea Dinosaur Jr has been around this long! I do like some of their newer stuff, so I'm excited to listen to their second album. Some really good pop-punk/alt/rock here. Kracked is a great song with some really interesting sonic choices. Sludgefeast is a really catchy song as well. There are a few moments on the album that drag or don't click with me initially, but this is definitely an album I'll return to. 4/5
More Green Day? ugh... It's fine but not something I'll likely revisit. I recognize the 'hits', "American Idiot," "Holiday" and "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," none of which was I into when they were released. The rest of the album doesn't really stand out much... lots of power chords and cymbals all over the place. Not the worst album I've listened to on this albums generator but also not one I enjoyed. 2/5
I'm very familiar with Adele's hits but have never listened to one of her albums start to finish, this should be really enjoyable, she has an incredible voice and sings very catchy pop songs. There's two songs on this album back-to-back, "Turning Tables" -> "Don't you Remember", where things really slow down quite a bit. They're not bad songs but I'm not crazy about the ordering. It would be nice to inject some energy in there. There are a couple of times where the album felt long. While I enjoyed most of it it's not one I'm likely to revisit. 2/5
Damn, this album is funky. While I did enjoy a lot of the musical elements, there are moments when it dragged quite a bit. I still enjoyed it want to check out more from these guys, but this one didn't do as much for me. 2/5
Never heard of this artist or album. Not really my taste. 2/5
This album had some good songs, but was also quite bloated. It felt like there was quite a bit filler. Despite that, this is still an album that I want to return to at some point. I like Wilco but am unfamiliar with some of their early stuff. 3/5
This is an album that I am quite familiar with, but really love. Probably not my favorite from Zeppelin, but it's up there. I haven't listened to II in quite a while and forgot just how many gems are on this. Even lulls have such amazing performances from Page that you still enjoy them. 4/5
A classic! I had this on loop in high school, happy to revisit it as it has been a while since I last listened to Entroducing... There is a lot more filler/down moment than I remember, but still a fun listen. 3/5
I'm not a fan of metal music, not sure about this one. Honestly, [sic] isn't a terrible track, it still has some shouting elements that I'm not crazy about but there are some interesting rap-like lyrical moments. Most of the next few songs have more aspects of metal that I don't care for as much. Lots of heavy power chords, mostly screaming lyrics. I will say this drummer is incredible, lots of interesting rhythmic elements using all aspects of the drum kit. There's a lot more to like in this album than I was expecting. "Tattered and Torn" has some fun/interesting effects in the production with the weird synth melody line and the beeping like a heart monitor in the background. 2/5
I know many of The Kinks' hits, but haven't ever spent time with any of their albums start to finish. So far, this one is classic late-60s pop rock. Lots of stuff that I like about this. 3/5
I'm not familiar with Jane's Addiction, but have heard of them. Interested to listen to an album of theirs all the way through. Honestly, pretty meh rock. Nothing really stands out here as being all that interesting. The album ended and I didn't even realize it. It really didn't grab my attention. 2/5
I'm not usually a fan of live albums, but this sounds really great. Muddy Waters is a great artist, I'm not as familiar with his work as some of his peers, but will definitely be revisiting this and listening to more of his stuff. I thought it was interesting that in an album that's only 9 tracks long he does "Got My Mojo Workin'" twice. That takes this down a peg. 3/5
I'm not really a fan of Alice in Chains... let's see if listening to a full album of theirs will chain my mind. The lead singer's voice is one that I used to mock when I would jokingly sing 90s/2000s rock. Man this is so bland/boring/generic and the singing is often nasally and whiny to the point where I just can't take it seriously. On 'Sickman' they did a spoken word breakdown using the Lord's prayer that was just awful. Man this is not good stuff. Can I give them a 0? Why are all of these songs so long? They don't go anywhere or do anything interesting.
I'm not familiar with this album at all. Excited for something really new. Definitely in my wheelhouse, 80s pop is really great. Wow, okay, I recognize some of these hits, and I really love some of these tracks. Songs I like but didn't know it was them: "Our Lips Are Sealed", "We Got the Beat". Definitely an album and band I will be revisiting. A few down moments that didn't quite hold my attention, but overall a fun listen! 3/5
I know ZZ Top's hits (e.g. Tracks 1, 3 and 6 here, 'Gimme All Your Lovin', 'Sharp Dressed Man' and 'Legs') and I'm not a huge fan. It's just kind of generic 70s/80s rock. They sound like a ton of other bands from that time, they don't really have anything that about their music that stands out to me. Let's see if this album can change my opinion about that. Meh, pretty much what I was expecting. 2/5
I had this CD as a kid... let's see if it's still holding up after all these years. It does not. 1/5
I don't think I've ever listened to a Willie Nelson album all the way through, but I do really like his songs that I know. This should be good. This is a really nice classic country album, with lots of short sweet songs. Definitely the style of country music that I prefer. This was an enjoyable listen. It didn't wow me but I still really enjoyed it. 3/5
My favorite album for remembering what to add to my stuffing. An album I haven't listened to since high school maybe? Not my favorite album but there's lots to like on here. Really beautiful textures throughout this album. As I'm relistening I'm appreciating it more now. 4/5
I know Pulp from their song "Common People," never listened to a full album, but I'm excited for this one. Lots of really interesting production decisions on this, with heavy horns and lush strings. 3/5
I'm familiar with a lot of the memed Randy Newman songs, but haven't listened to a full album. I'm sure it will be interesting... not sure in what direction, though. Overall the music was fine, nothing too catchy or impressive. There weren't any songs that really grabbed me, but it didn't offend me or turn me off, either. 2/5
This is an album that I have had for a long time, I listen to it somewhat rarely but do remember enjoying it. So far, it's not as good as I remember but still enjoyable nonetheless, definitely one that I will be returning to at some point. 3/5
I didn't know this was the album that has walk this way on it. It's an interesting choice in artwork, that's for sure. I don't think I've listened to any Aerosmith album all the way through before. Don't have high hopes to be honest. There's some weird blues stuff going on here and it's not all that interesting or original, it's almost like someone said they couldn't play blues and they just copied an old song to show they could. This feels like a band that can't figure out which way they want to go with their music. Not a huge fan. 1/5
Kind of serendipitous following up the original Aerosmith 'Walk this Way' with Run DMC's remake. I've not heard much of Run DMC outside their hits. This will be interesting. Fun beats even 30+ years later. Rhymes are fairly straightforward, but still fun to hear some earlier hip-hop. It's a pretty short/tight album, which is nice. Overall fun but nothing that wowed me. 2/5
I'm not a huge fan of Cptn Beefheart, but this is a much more approachable album from him/them. I do really enjoy this more than the other stuff I've heard from them and will probably revisit this in the future. 3/5
Not my kind of music, to be honest, but let's give it a chance. No, I did not care for that. 1/5
Never heard of these guys... will be interesting to check them out. Really interesting Brit-Pop. I definitely like it a lot and will revisit, but the album ended and I didn't even realize. Nothing wowed me, but nothing bored me, either. 3/5
An album I am very familiar with and love. Not my favorite of theirs but still one of the greatest albums of all time. 5/5
I'm not usually a fan of live albums, but I do really enjoy the energy in this one. It makes sense that so many people consider this to be the 'definitive' live rock album. This has some really great songs on it, definitely one that has me reconsidering my take on live albums, but also not one that I'm likely to revisit a ton. 3/5
I love R.E.M. This album is a great debut from a truly great band. 4/5
There's a couple recognizable songs on here, which were fun to listen to and get a 'face to the name' moment ('Mama Said', 'You Don't Own Me', 'Mockingbird' cover, 'Wishin' and Hopin''). Decent, fun early rock and roll but not something I'm likely to go back to with a few spots that failed to keep me engaged. 2/5
Kate Bush is/was overlooked as a truly great talent and this album is incredible. She got a lot of coverage thanks to 'Stranger Things' which is great, always nice to get more fans/listeners for her! This album has such interesting production for the time and Kate's voice is incredible. Songs like 'Waking the Witch' with the weird voice over work and the crazy vocal work/editing are what make this album ahead of its time. Easy 4/5
I'm not the biggest fan of Beck. I've listened to this album before, but on previous listens it didn't do much for me. 'E-Pro' is a fun song and a good start to the album. There are multiple times throughout this album where a 'breakdown' occurs that really doesn't excite or interest me. There are more songs on here that I'm enjoying than I thought/remembered, but there are still some songs that I really don't like ('Missing', 'Earthquake Weather', 'Emergency Exit'). Probably won't be listening to this again. 2/5
I'm not a fan of this genre, but still interested in hearing some of the early hard rock albums to understand how the metal/harder rock bands were influenced. There's some interesting things here, including more moments that I really enjoyed than I was anticipating, but not really my favorite or something I'm likely to revisit. 2/5
I'm not familiar with this album or band at all. From the first track ('Yes') it seems like the sort of 90s rock that I don't typically go for, I prefer grungier stuff. Track two has quite the progressive name, especially for the early 90s ('ifwhiteamericatoldthetruthforonedayit'sworldwouldfallapart'), which is interesting. I'm digging the news clips throughout as well, they seem to be focused a lot on progressive political views, the third track is called 'Of Walking Abortion' for crying out loud. Musically they're kind of boring/generic, but the lyrics and political messaging are enough to make me want to listen to some of their other stuff. 3/5
I've never heard of this artist. He's Belgian and has a really interesting voice. This is a live album which, again, I'm not a huge fan. The music is really interesting, and I'll likely check out more of his studio work but this album itself did not really feel complete to me. Maybe it's the short length? Not sure. 2/5
I've never listened to this album straight through. I understand it's their first album to contain all original songs. I really like a lot of their later stuff, so I will be interested in hearing where they started. There are many recognizable songs here. This was a fun listen but certainly not my favorite from The Rolling Stones. 3/5
I'm more familiar with Bowie's earlier work and his very last album (Black Star), and I'm a huge fan. I'm excited to listen to an album I have overlooked in the past. There are some really dark lyrics here, a lot like what's on 'Black Star.' As usual, Bowie's use of brass is fantastic throughout this album. There's lots of really interesting production decisions throughout this album on top of the jazz, between weird vocal effects ('If You Can See Me') and interesting percussion decisions. I listened to the deluxe edition, which has 17 tracks and feels a bit bloated, but the original of 14 tracks isn't bad. 4/5
Ugh. Why is this bullshit on this list? It's way too long, incredibly derivative, uninteresting, childish, simplistic. 1/5
This album is already going to get a high score just based off 'Fast Car,' it's such an amazing song. I haven't spent much time with the rest of this album, but man it's such a powerful work. I love that there is an interesting mix of production choices - acapella, folk work, African drums. It's really interesting and every choice seems to fit beautifully both as a whole and to each individual song. Really great, will definitely listen to this again and again. 4/5
I'm not familiar with this artist at all. Interesting mixture of synth and acoustic instruments. Not crazy about Robert's voice, but the lyrics are interesting. Weird soloing with LOTS of dissonant chords and rambling sequences, like he's looking for the correct notes to hit. Some of the lyrical choices, the long sequences of odd 'wah-wahs' definitely rubbed me the wrong way at times and drops this down a bit. An interesting listen, but not my favorite. 2/5
I'm not familiar with this artist, should be interesting. This is some interesting 60s rock, not too dissimilar from a lot of what else was out there during this time, but it's decent. It's not particularly memorable, but it was a good listen. 2/5
I'm familiar with the singles off this album but have never listened to it straight through. This is decent 2010s pop, apparently telling the story of a breakup set at a house party. While I do have other pop artists that I prefer, I do appreciate and give props to albums that have that sort of narrative structure/tie-in throughout. Definitely better than a lot of stuff on this list. 3/5
Not a huge fan of what I know from Lenny Kravitz. The opening track was a lot more interesting than I was expecting. Really interesting percussion. 'Let Love Rule' is a fine song. I like the sax solo. A lot of the songs are starting to sound the same, though. 'Freedom Train,' which comes right after 'Let Love Rule' sounds very similar. 'Precious Love' was fine, cool organ part. 'I Build This Garden For Us' is fine. Overall this album was a little better than I expected but nothing really grabbed me. 2/5
Not an album I'm familiar with, but one that has quite the reputation - excited to listen to this one! This is a really great album. I'm not a huge fan of punk, and many say this album birthed punk, but this is a ton of fun, high energy, lyrically interesting and overall a great listen. Definitely one that I'll be revisiting. 4/5
Never heard of these guys before. These guys are interesting, lots of cool brass/reed work in the music, but it isn't my favorite. There seems to be obvious influences from The Talking Heads here, which is great, but these guys are nowhere near as good as them. 2/5
I love A Tribe Called Quest, this album is incredible. 4/5
This is one of the few CSNY albums that I have a copy of, it's really great. Lots of great folk-rock/pop-rock/country style music throughout this album. Interesting instrumental decisions and great lyrics. Songs like 'Teach Your Children,' 'Woodstock,' and 'Our House' are classics. 4/5.
Frank Sinatra is obviously one of the greats, but as I have heard all of the hits from this album ad nauseum it's kind of old to me at this point. Still recognize it's greatness, just not my favorite or something I'll seek out. 3/5
I'm well aware of 'Blister in the Sun', 'Please Do Not Go' and 'Good Feeling' but I've never listened to a full Violent Femmes album, should be good! This is a lot of fun, high energy stuff. Way more interesting and rocking than I was expecting based on the songs I do know by them. Really fun listen, will definitely revisit. 4/5
My favorite Beatles album changes all the time, but this one is probably the one that is in the top spot most frequently. Easy 5/5
The only thing I know of these guys is 'Give Up the Funk,' which is a fun song. The rest of this album is fun, something I'll probably revisit, but not my favorite. 3/5
I've mentioned previously that I'm not generally a fan of live albums, but I think this will be a good one. James Brown is a ton of fun. This album was decent but not a favorite of mine. 3/5
It's been a while since I've listened to this album. I'm not a huge fan of The Killers, but will be some nostalgic fun to revisit it. This album was not as good as I remember... outside of the hits there's a lot of forgettable songs on here. 2/5
I have never heard of these guys. No clue what to expect. I do love albums with a story, which this one does. Interesting psych-rock instrumentals throughout. Definitely one that I will be revisiting and a band I will be looking into more. 4/5
This album is a lot funkier than I was expecting! A lot of fun, but not my favorite. 3/5
Extremely underrated Radiohead album in my opinion. I know that it doesn't have as continuous a flow as most of their work, but I love the passion in this album and it has some of my favorite tracks from them ('There, There', 'A Wolf At the Door', '2+2=5'). 4/5
One of my favorite albums. Easy 5/5 for me.
I'm not familiar with these guys, should be good to explore a new band. Right off the bat, I'm digging the artwork. Good, fun, jingly pop-rock. Some interesting psychedelic elements, with reversed looping effects. Lots of good/fun songs on here but not my favorite. Probably a band I will be revisiting, though. 3/5
I do like what little I have heard from Massive Attack (Mezzanine), so this will be fun to listen to their debut. Some of the tracks are a bit repetitive and bloated, but there is still some good, interesting stuff here. Not one I'm likely to revisit a ton but does make me want to listen to more of their stuff. 3/5
This thing opens with reggae?! I was not expecting that. Decent, not my favorite of Paul Simon's. 3/5
Not terribly familiar with Cat Stevens' discography, but I do like some of his songs, including 'Wild World,' which is on this album. A lot of this album is pretty sleepy, but has moments of higher energy, like in 'Miles From Nowhere.' Not sure I'll revisit this one, but I do want to listen to more Cat Stevens now. 2/5
I'm not a fan of Beck. This album has some interesting production choices, especially with his use of strings throughout, but a lot of it is really slow. It isn't something I'm likely to revisit. 2/5
I'm not as familiar with MBV - they were obvious early pioneers in shoegaze and I find this reunion album to be really interesting. Good background music while working/reading. I will definitely be going back through their older stuff now. 3/5
Not an album I'm familiar with. I'm usually a bigger fan of more energetic jazz, and this has been very relaxed. Given it's called 'Jazz Samba' I don't expect it to pick up too much but let's see. This is decent background music but there are other jazz albums I would prefer to listen to than this. 2/5
A great album with lots of great singles. Not my favorite from Michael, but still a great record with lots of re-listen-ability! 3/5
