1001 Albums Summary

I think I had to be there at the right time and place for this album. Of course “Under the Bridge” is a bit, but listening to the full album confirmed what I already knew: I’m not a fan of the Chili Peppers

A bop through and through

Earthy, smooth funk with real lyrics. Truly enjoyed every second and wanted more when the album ended.

I’ve never really listened to the Stones before. While not exactly my cup of tea, it was a fun experience.

I can appreciate the fusion of folk, jazz, and funk and the clear impact he had on many musicians. However I can’t help but think maybe someone did it better? Or before him?

I wanted to love it but the majority of the album blended into the background. Love the messaging and production.

I kept feeling like I have heard these songs before. Which makes Hanoi Rocks derivative (in some cases) or trendsetting (in others). I heard a lot of my alt rock favs in their production and arrangements.

Phenomenal storytelling. I would listen to this endlessly.

I’ve listened to this before and typically hate live albums. Not this one. The sound mixing was good except during the exposition and it was easy to be transported into another space.

I’ve never sat down and listened to a full album of Aretha’s before and I am so so sad I haven’t before now.

Loved the beats and his cadence. Could not get over the misogyny and cringy lyrics.

Every song of theirs I’ve ever heard was on this album. Either they achieved perfection or just suck.
