Incredible album. Front to back is a journey.

In A Silent Way by Miles Davis
Jan 09 2024

Didn't grab me. Some interesting bits but I like a lot of his other work more.

Ten by Pearl Jam
Jan 12 2024

A classic. Every track is amazing.

The ArchAndroid by Janelle Monáe
Jan 15 2024

I really liked this album when it first came out and more importantly it first introduced me to Janelle Monae as a solo artist and not just part of the dungeon family. While the album is good about showing her range and talent. It's kind of scattered and I don't get back to the whole thing, only select songs.

Hot Fuss by The Killers
Jan 17 2024

A debut album this good is hard to top. So many strong melodies that have lasting power. Almost gave it a 5.

Aqualung by Jethro Tull
Jan 18 2024

Lots of different genres blending and a ton of experimentation on this album. The experimentation goes too far most of the time though, it feels like a studio session that ran long and they just cut the entire thing as an album. I think it would've benefited from tightening up across the board.

Channel Orange by Frank Ocean
Jan 19 2024

Amazing album front to back. Strong songs on their own but the flow of this album from one track to the next is really good. Fantastic follow up to Nostalgia, Ultra. I still go back to this album often.

Incredible. Parliament, and this album in particular, unlocked so much new music for me.

Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes
Jan 25 2024

Jack White proved with this album that he can write songs using random objects he found around the house. Distortion is a lot harder for me to get down with these days.

Jan 26 2024

Another formative album for me. So many standout tracks that I still revisit. The features are all incredible and the Dilla impact is perfection. Almost rated a 5 but there are multiple albums in his catalog I think are even better back to front.

Definitely enjoyed some tracks here and I partially understand this album in the context of when it was released but it didn't really grab me.

Sea Change by Beck
Feb 12 2024

Incredible album. Front to back is a journey.

Feb 15 2024

Incredible album. Some of my favorite songs of all time on this one.

Moondance by Van Morrison
Feb 19 2024

Unique voice. Same song over and over again.

Violator by Depeche Mode
Feb 21 2024

3 for me now but giving a 4 because of everything this album inspired that I love.
