The Fat Of The Land
The ProdigyPretty solid! The tracks are catchy.
Pretty solid! The tracks are catchy.
Very good!
This album comes out swinging with the first 3 songs, but after "I Need You Tonight" it just left me wanting... more? I was expecting the same or similar levels of quality throughout the album. I wish the rest of the album had the same amount of power and catchiness as the first few songs. By the way, "TV Dinners" is easily one of the songs of all time. Take that for what you will.
Easily one of the most iconic punk albums ever released and for good reason. It's very good.
this is a seriously beautiful album. i've never heard of this guy before but consider me a fan now. truly a great experience listening to this album. all of the tracks are fantastic, but they work so well together it would be hard to not listen to the whole thing again. my only gripe is that i wish the song intros were combined with the songs they're for.
I've never been a fan of live albums, but this one might have sold me. B.B. King worked the crowd really well along with giving a fantastic performance. 8/10
Pretty decent. There aren't any bad songs on it, but most of the songs just aren't something I'd listen to otherwise. light 7/10
Pretty good. However, I've noticed that while every track is different, they all feel pretty similar towards the end. For an album on the shorter side, it's a little bit longwinded. I think it's because the tracks aren't super cohesive with each other. For something I just called longwinded, I don't think it's fatiguing to listen to. It seems like to me it's caused by frontloading the album with all of the serious bangers because the second half of the album feels lost. I think it's interesting how the songs start showing some folk and country as the album progresses. strong 7.5/10
I feel torn. Some of the tracks were very good, but others seemed out of place. Overall I'd give it a 7.5/10
This is my first time actually listening to the Beatles, and I got to say I'm confused. As of right now, I don't get what the hype is about with their music. The album has some good tracks, but the whole thing is really longwinded. Many songs don't feel like they fit with the rest of them or as if they were a part of separate projects that got merged into one really long album. Objectively, I don't feel comfortable giving this album higher than an 8/10.
This is a very good album. I would give it 5 stars, but I'm saving 5 stars for OK Computer and Kid A lol. It seemed rawer and more aggressive than some of the other Radiohead albums I've listened to in the past, which is nice. Album Score: 9/10 Would I listen to it again? Absolutely
This is a pretty fun album. I'm new to Bob Dylan's music, so I had no clue what to expect going into this album. I was pleasantly surprised. 8.5/10 Would I listen to it again? Yes
This album grew on me. I'm not super into reggae, but I found myself starting to really dig the sound in the latter half. The beginning felt a little samey but improved as it went. 7/10 Would I listen again? Probably, but I'd definitely need to be in the mood for it.
Wow, back to back reggae. This is the second day in a row where I got a reggae album, and this one has some seriously big shoes to fill coming off of a Bob Marley album. I feel like I gotta preface this again by saying I'm still extremely new to reggae as a genre. My only experience to reggae is the occasional Bob Marley song in popular media. My thoughts on the album are simple: It's pretty good. The lyrics have some serious emotion behind them and the instrumental is smooth. The problem is I just felt like there weren't many stand out tracks, not to say any were bad. 6/10 Would I listen again? Eh maybe if I'm in a serious reggae mood.
Coltrane is a great musician, but a half hour of uninterrupted jazz instrumental is a bit much for me. The whole thing is just 4 songs too. 6/10 Would I listen again? Maybe as background noise.
Unapologetically 80s. Some of the latter half of the album felt like filler, but otherwise it's pretty solid. 8/10 Would I listen again? Yes
Fantastic album. I'd give it 5 stars, but I don't want nostalgia to cloud my judgement. 9/10 Would I listen again? Absolutely
One of the most raw and powerful albums I've ever listened to. I don't really have any words that would do this justice. 10/10 Would I listen again? If I ever need a good cry.
I don't like being overly negative, but this album just didn't do it for me. Some of the tracks were really interesting in parts I'll give them that. I just felt it sounded like songs for a fictional band in a coming of age movie or something idk. Just slightly below average. 4/10
Very enjoyable. Also deep into dad rock hits. I'd understand how the vibe could be polarizing for some people. I fell into the camp of actually enjoying it. 8/10 Would I listen again? Yes
Oh boy, a controversial figure's album! This'll be fun. I've never listened to anything by The Smiths or Morrissey, so I'm going in with fresh ears. HOWEVER, I can't say the well isn't already poisoned by the internet's hatred for this guy. Keep that in mind while reading this. Off the rip this album comes off as whiny and pretentious. I can feel the attitude through Morrissey's singing. Singing I don't really care for. Personally, I didn't enjoy this album. 4/10 Would I listen again? No
I've never listened to Björk before, so I didn't know what to expect going into this album. I just got one thing to say: wow. This was a fantastic listen. Consider me a fan! 9/10 Would I listen again? Absolutely
Overall pretty good. Very funky. The guitar is wonderful. However, now it is time for a mini rant. I HATE STREAMING SERVICES. I HATE HOW WHOLE ALBUMS CAN JUST DISAPPEAR LEAVING ME TO LISTEN TO A REUPLOAD ON YOUTUBE RAAAAAHHHH. Thank you for bearing with me. 8/10 Would I listen again? I would IF IT WAS ON ANY STREAMING SERVICE.
Definitely not for me. I don't really like this style of songwriting that's just "Let me say a bunch of words that don't really go together but over a pretty piano or guitar sounds profound." To me, it just sounded like a local punk band writing over some generic singer songwriter melody. This album took me 2 days to get through solely because it was so monotonous and boring. 3/10 Would I listen again? No
This was the first album I was unable to make myself finish. I got about halfway through over the span of several days. There were some decent guitar playing, but everything else was extremely obnoxious while also somehow being bland. 2/10 Would I listen again? Absolutely not
This is my first time ever hearing of Nick Cave, so as per usual I didn't know what to expect going into this album. What I found was some interesting instrumentals with somewhat obnoxious vocals. I just can't get past his voice. I didn't really enjoy this album, but it didn't outright offend me either. 4/10 Would I listen again? Probably not.
As a certified "not a big fan of jazz" person, this was actually really pleasant. It's especially been a breath of fresh air after the past couple duds I've gotten. I still don't fully understand jazz, but this was a pretty good listen. 7/10 Would I listen again? If I'm feeling jazzy
I thoroughly enjoyed this entire album. It pairs well with preworkout and heavy circles. 8/10 Would I listen again? Yes
YEOWWWWW!!! This sounds like it was recorded through a walkie talkie. I understand that it was the 60s and quality equipment wasn't as plentiful as it is today, but Jesus does it make it difficult to listen to. I wouldn't mind if it was just a poor recording as much if it wasn't for the repetitive and obnoxious songs. It's just a scream, basic rock jam, scream, repeat. I don't care how influential they are, they're not for me. 2/10 Would I listen again? It would be very difficult for someone to make me listen to this again.
Now this is something else! The sheer size of the instrumental and the intimacy of the vocals is fantastic. Shame I can't understand a word of what's said, but I feel like that shouldn't detract from the overall experience. This is an album for those days when you just want to sit in a comfy chair, turn your brain off to the outside world, and listen. Beautiful!! 9/10 Would I listen again? Absolutely
Very fun. Not my favorite Bowie album, but still a great listen. 8/10 Would I listen again? Yes
Before this, I've only known Bruce Springsteen as the "Born in the USA" guy. This was a pretty decent album. There were some really good songs, and the rest were just fine. 6/10 Would I listen again? Eh maybe.
I think Coldplay gets too much hate. Maybe I'm biased since I grew up listening to them, but I actually enjoy their older stuff like this album. This album made me remember a time when pop music had some semblance of depth. That is until corporate pop took over the radio. Sorry for the mini rant. 8/10 Would I listen again? Yes
I'm gonna be completely honest and say I was baffled as to why this is on this list. This is easily the strangest album I've gotten so far solely because of the fact that it's a soundtrack from a Bollywood film from the 70s. I have ZERO knowledge about Bollywood or general Indian music/culture, so I'm in the dark on this one. With that disclaimer out of the way, let's get to the review. This is a very groovy album. It's such an interesting mashup of different genres. All of the tracks are pretty good, but I don't think they'd be something I'd go on to listen to on my own. Upon finishing this album I'm still at a loss as to why it's on this list. 5/10 Would I listen again? Only if I ever watch the movie that it's from.
Wasn't super familiar with Yes before this. I mainly knew them as "the band that did the outro for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure." I've always enjoyed the song Roundabout and meant to actually get into their discography. This was a great listen imo. 8/10 Would I listen again? Yes (get it? like the name of the band?)
Very good, but extremely long. I prefered the faster and upbeat songs to the more mushy ones, but they weren't bad either. 8/10 Would I listen again? Probably
Very pleasant! I enjoyed just about every song on this album. The whole album feels very intimate and personal. It's very easy to listen to. I could imagine listening to this on a rainy day next to the fire. 8/10 Would I listen again? Yes
This album is beautiful. This is my first time listening to anything by Pink Floyd, so let me just say that I now understand the hype. 10/10 Would I listen again? Absolutely.
One of my favorite Metallica albums, second to And Justice For All. Finally I'm getting stuff I've listened to before
The "Ramblin'" part makes sense. I wasn't a fan of this to be honest. Normally I like country and folk, but this was a miss. The songs were pretty short since ol' Ramblin' Jack yapped for most of it. Like good grief just play the song instead of telling me about said song. I'm sure this would be good as like a campfire kinda thing, but it just doesn't work as an album. 4/10 Would I listen again? Probably not.
It was alright. Nothing too exceptional. 5/10 Would I listen again? Nah
Very pretty! I love the instrumentation on this! I've never heard of Nick Drake before, but it seems like he has a serious cult following on here. I thought the vocals were just a bit monotonous in the beginning, but they eventually grew on me. 8/10 Would I listen again? Sure
Beautiful. Simply beautiful. This is a fantastic album. The vibes are immaculate. 10/10 Would I listen again? Absolutely
I listened to this album a lot back in high school and to this day I still enjoy it. Maybe my judgement is clouded by nostalgia, but I think this is a fantastic album. While it might not be the best Gorillaz album, I think it has some of their best songs. 9/10 Would I listen again? I do frequently!
I hate to be that guy, but this album is a snooze fest. I can appreciate soft acoustic music but good grief this is the musical equivalent of melatonin. I've never heard of Big Star before this. I wish it stayed that way. Typically, I like to stay off my phone while I'm listening to give the music my full attention, but it took every fiber of my being to pay attention. The worst part is it didn't start this dreadfully boring. It went from mediocre in the first half to paint drying in the second. 2/10 Would I listen again? I don't think I'd be able to make it through another
Pretty catchy. I don't really have much to say about this album. 6/10 Would I listen again? It would be pretty good background music.
A lovely taste of the 70s. Wonderful harmonies and great instrumental. 9/10 Would I listen again? Absolutely
Aside from the title track (which is a certified BANGER), most of the songs on this album are saccharine and dated. It's a shame what the industry did to Britney. 4/10 Would I listen again? You'd probably have to hit me baby one more time.
Very good! I've heard about LCD before, but I've never actually listened to their music. This was very enjoyable. 9/10 Would I listen again? Most definitely
This was a bit hit or miss for me. It felt like every other song was a bit of a dud. There were some really good tracks, however. I especially liked the song "Sunshine Of Your Love." I've only heard about Clapton in discussion about great artists, so I was unaware of his less-than-savory opinions on certain topics until I did some reading about it. It's a shame since he's pretty good. 7/10 Would I listen again? Probably not the whole thing, but I will be listening to some of the tracks again.
When you boil this album down, this is essentially a Greatest Hits on steroids. It's awesome! Maybe I'm biased since I'm a big fan of Metallica, but I don't care. I'm also a sucker for big orchestras. 10/10 Would I listen again? Absolutely!
This album was the reason I had to take a break from this, I just couldn't make myself finish it it was so boring and obnoxious. 3/10 Please don't make me listen to this again.
I bet theater majors eat this up. All in all I think this is a fine album. It's got some pretty good songs and some snoozefests. I'm not a big fan of the soft, wordy, melodramatic acoustic songs on here. I think they're pretty boring. The whole album, which goes on for a bit longer than it should, feels like an art house indie film. Quirky and trying to stand out, but long-winded and a little pretentious. 5/10 Would I listen again? There's some halfway decent tunes that I wouldn't mind listening to again, but the whole thing is a no for me.
I didn't like this album. The vocals are unintelligible, the instruments are boring, the mix is awful. It's deep fried rockabilly. Awful, nasty, and I think it took time off my life. 2/10 Would I listen again? No
I really enjoyed this! I was shocked at the runtime compared to the track list, but it never felt like it went on for too long. Very pleasant. 8/10 Would I listen again? Probably
The vibes are immaculate on this instrumental album. I really enjoyed it! 8/10 Would I listen again? Yes
Oh boy another jazz album! I still haven't figured out the appeal of jazz yet. It's not bad, but it is a lot. 5/10 Would I listen again? Probably not, sorry Dingus
One of the best concept albums of all time. This album is what really got me into music, so I might be a little biased. Kendrick is such a talented storyteller. 10/10 Would I listen again? Absolutely
Wow, this is by far the worst thing I've ever heard. It's actually painful to listen to. The only way I'd be able to finish this is if there was money or a gun involved. 0/10 Would I listen again? Absolutely not
Very meh. I thought the vocals were a little obnoxious, but I actually enjoyed the cheesy 80s digital instruments. Plus the bass carries this album. I wish this was just an instrumental. 5/10 Would I listen again? Probably not
Completely biased review time! Foo Fighters is my favorite band. I love this album, and it has some serious bangers on it. While it's not my favorite FF album (The Colour and The Shape), it's still great! 9.5/10 Would I listen again? Of course!
This is okay. I think the songs are pretty decent, although the album is a bit too long and repetitive. Perfectly middle of the road. 5/10 Would I listen again? I'd probably end up hearing some of the tracks on various commercials
This was a very pleasant change from the past few albums I've gotten! There was something new with every track. I really enjoyed the whole album. 8/10 Would I listen again? Yes
Very strange, but in a good way! The wild guitar mixed with the interesting vocals really worked together. I enjoyed most of the tracks. 8/10 Would I listen again? Yeah probably
Very samey. Love is good I guess tho 4/10 Would I listen again? Probably not
This is a solid "meh" from me. Some of the tracks are pretty groovy, but others just aren't my jam. I definitely disagree with the shocking amount of 1s this has received because there's FAR worse albums on this list. It's pretty all over the place and kinda boring for some tracks. It sounds like something I'd hear in a small coffee shop that charges $15 for a coffee with mandatory tips. 4/10 Would I listen again? Nah
I think I need a cigarette and an adult after this... ... although I think I liked it o_o 9/10 Would I listen again? Only if he buys me a drink first!
I really enjoyed! 8/10 Would I listen again? Probably
I was expecting a lot worse, but it's really not that bad. Is it weird? Yes. Is it painful to listen to? Yeah a little bit. But there's some form of underlying musicality that I actually kinda like. 6/10 Would I listen again? Probably not
Wonderfully done! I loved every second! I never thought I'd give a cover album such a high score... 9/10 Would I listen again? Absolutely
