Popular Reviews

I like Queen, hell, I have a deep seated nostalgia for this band. Queen's greatest hits might've been the first album I ever truly owned, on casette no less. This is my second or third time listening to a full length LP and I must say I'm not that big of a fan of the deeper cuts. This album, much like the others I've listened to, is full of songs I don't connect to. I like a few songs a lot but most just don't hit that high I'm looking for when listening to Queen. The musicianship is definitely there but the songs aren't grabbing me. Favorites: killer queen, Now I'm here, Stone cold crazy, flick of the wrist 3.5/5

Songs In The Key Of Life by Stevie Wonder

holy shit, this album is INCREDIBLE, why haven't I listened to this?? instrumentals are lush, vocals are transcendent, what's not to love? A lot of diversity in songs as well, also found out gangster's paradise by coolio is clear heavily inspired by pastime paradise. One disc of 2 in and it's easily one of the best albums I've ever heard. Disc 2 doesn't slow down, immediately hits with "Isn't she lovely"

War by U2

favorites: new year's day, the refugee, two hearts beat as one red light was biggest pleasant surprise, surrender is awesome, maybe my new favorite? 8/10 this album has a lot of great songs, no complete duds least favorite song(s) - drowning man

this one isn't new to me but it's been a long time. Fantastic album, she can sing, she can rap her ass off. The beats are timeless, the message is still just as relevant. This album will never fall off. definitely a 5/5

Band On The Run by Paul McCartney and Wings
May 02 2024

good stuff, 4/5 combing the wiki entry very impressive mccartney did so much of the instrumentation

Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
May 03 2024

good solos on down by the river and cowgirl in the sand, like the instrumentals haunting vocals on most songs except cinnamon girl which is nice too 4/5

The White Album by Beatles
May 06 2024

I know the beatles are beyond classic but this double album is a lot of music to swallow. Some of these tracks are catchy but so dated in ways I don't really care to appreciate. Other songs like dear prudence are incredible to this day. Songs like wild honey pie could've done better on the cutting room floor. At least to me, it feels like this album is loaded with filler songs. Best songs: dear prudence, while my guitar gently weeps, blackbird,

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
May 07 2024

Nothing bad but mostly not what I would ever seek out. Good swamp rock and a very short album.

Halcyon Digest by Deerhunter
May 08 2024

Some decent songs but some are soooooo boring, may be my aversion to most "indie" music but the instrumentation plus a rather dull vocalist (imo) leads to most tracks being instantly forgettable to me. There are a few songs that I would most likely enjoy in certain situations, but I don't think I would seek most of these out. Favorite songs: desire lines, coronado

From Elvis In Memphis by Elvis Presley
May 16 2024

A surprisingly enjorable listen, a bit more digging revealed that the backing band is the same as the Dusty Springfield album from monday, both were recorded at the same studio. I really like his voice and the instrumentals are very good and soulful. Great backing vocals throughout. 4.5/5

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers

Eagles by Eagles
May 20 2024

Good, nothing incredible, but very good debut from a great band 4/5

The Wall by Pink Floyd
May 21 2024

great concept album but I still agree there's too much filler on here for a 5/5 album. I've never watched the movie but this still has some incredible songs on it. In the flesh is a great opener, hey you is an incredible start to disc 2 but young lust is my favorite song on here. 4.5/5

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
May 22 2024

Did not really like the first song, rockin around with you. Breakdown is an amazing song though and starts to set the stage for a much better album, however, I'm not sure it delivers on that premise. The next song is not much better than the first. The next songs does deliver what I expect from TP and was a nice return to form (The wild one, forever). Followed by yet another forgettable song, anything that's rock n roll doesn't do anything special. Of course, in the way this album seems to go, I quite like the next song (Strangered in the night), nice melody and chilled out solo. Fooled again is another good one (TWO IN A ROW!) but is followed by mystery men (ok) and luna (meh). American girl rounds it out and its no wonder that american girl and breakdown were the ones that stood the test of time. Good album as a debut, but definitely nothing I would note as an album you must listen to before dying. 3.5/5

Frank by Amy Winehouse
May 23 2024

This was extremely enjoyable, I love the instrumentation, and her voice. Listened to this 3 times back to back then listened to all of Back to Black, her second album. She really was taken too early from us. I'd love to see how she would've progressed in her career.

May 24 2024

Very good songwriting throughout, some wonderful songs (stone souled picnic and woman's blues were my favorites). She has a wonderful voice too, hard to believe this came out in 1968, very easy to tell she was a large influence on many songwriters to follow. 4.5/5

Maggot Brain by Funkadelic
May 28 2024

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
