quintessential grunge rock album
Intro - good start to the album and sets the expectation for how the rest of the album will sound RCR - interesting lyrics to say the least, however, quite the powerful message PWARS - song a little slow however it was fantastic in my opinion, worth the 12 minutes as this track displayed for the listeners the lyrical capacity of the band LWMUTM - wow. this song was incredible. everything from the lyrics to the instrumental to the vocals. this song went straight into my playlist as soon as it graced my ears. IAGN - powerful lyrics to portray a great message to the listeners about feelings of isolation TFTIESYF - beautiful love song DYT - fantastic finish to an overall great album Overall, this album surprised me with how fantastic the writing was. With some songs leaving me somewhat disappointed, like Run Charlie Run or the intro track, other songs, such as Papa Was A Rolling Stone and Love Woke Me Up This Morning made up for it just by how much the songs blew me away. All in all, this is a good album that I would definitely recommend.
Great live album, maybe the best of the whole MTV Unplugged series. It was also crazy to hear Kurt talking to the audience and the other members. Can't believe he's been gone for so long, RIP to the legend.
This album was unbelievable. Honestly, I don't think there were any bad songs on this project.
I liked most of the songs on this album...just didn't love any of them. This wasn't a bad album, it's def an important one to give a try, especially for fans of Pharrell/The Neptunes. I just don't think i'll find myself relistening to the vast majority of this project.
overall great album, however, at times, it felt a bit repetitive
A classic 60s rock album from a classic and quintessential rock band.
to be honest i don't have anything against this album necessarily in a musical sense as it sounds alright, however, this is one of the most fucking boring albums ever. the only song that kept me listening was Genius of Love if im gonna be honest. not a bad album, just boring asf.
I'm not a huge fan of electronic music and I don't see myself being one in the near future, just as a disclaimer. However, this album was actually alright. There were many songs that I genuinely enjoyed and a few made it onto the playlist. Would I listen to this album again? Probably not. Would I recommend you give it a listen? Definitely.
I was not too knowledgeable about this project prior to this listen. I was previously aware of the critical acclaim of this album. I was also aware of their songs Use Somebody and Sex on Fire, both fantastic songs. Overall, I throughly enjoyed this project, however, a lot of it sounded a bit repetitive but I think it worked. The only lowlight was 17, which while isn't a completely awful song like most people on this would have you think, it's pretty bad.
album doesn't exist bruh lmfao
this album was so mid. it had a strong start with the world is my oyster and the title track and i thought "wow this might be a great listen". then, relax hit. bro this song might be the most overrated shit i've ever heard. when i found out it has over 300 million listens and is considered an essential track of the 80s, my jaw dropped. i hate this song and it has absolutely zero replay value. at this point, i thought maybe it gets better from here...then war played. this might be one of the most garbage songs ever. bro was yapping during the music like shut the fuck up and sing man i don't wanna hear your damn monologue. there were many highlights to this album. as mentioned, the intro and title track were both strong, two tribes was an excellent song, and born to run and san jose might be two of my favorites on the album, and two of my favorites i've heard in this generator. overall, never gonna listen to the majority of these songs again but there were some highlights. favorite song --> San Jose - it is so relaxing and a great song to have on in the background
Despite the criticism this album has gotten on this app, i really enjoyed it. And im not the type of person who necessarily enjoys new wave music. People were calling Weller's vocals corny and cringy but I loved what he did for this project and how he made it better. Favorite song: My Ever Changing Mood --> I love the emotional piano part on here so much it makes this such an enjoyable song. Plus, Weller did his thing on this song.
An excellent fusion of pop and jazz. Norah's voice fits the production of the album so well as she reinforces the softness and gentleness of the record. Additionally, she brings spectacular songwriting to this project. Some of the songs kind of blend together, making the album dry at some points, yet, some songs on this project are just amazing. Favorite song: Painter Song --> The writing of this track is so well done, painting (no pun intended) a poignant and vivid image in the listeners mind.
