Has some nice riffs and moments i very much enjoyed, but other than in 'heard it through the grapevine' the songs seemed to either waffle too much, or just to degenerate into a kind of bluegrass american south thing i could just as easily get from Cash.
I like this a whole lot better than more recent rap, 90s hip-hop has a flow i can respect, and the ability to create a really solid groove out of like christmas bells or something totally mental is a skill AF + this album is fucking awesome as shit
i really liked this album, the bright synths against the thumping bass, string arrangements set alongside prince's flowing vocals. there are a couple of weaker moments, but songs like 'purple rain' and 'computer blue' prove the weak spots the exception rather than the rule
This is much more my home territory, the influence of blues and hard rock, juxtaposed against more proggy tones ('child in time') resonates well with the music I already listen to. Specifically the distorted guitar tones, and the gliding organ solos fits my genre of choice. The bass riff on 'into the fire' is heavy AF, the organ slides on 'living wreck' too, and although not technically an original album track, I really like the main riff on Black Night. My only caveat being, and this goes for a whole lot of 70s rock, there's this high pitched vocal scream/shout thing a lot of heavy rock does that i dont really like but other than that.
yeah i mean its fine. like i dont actively dislike it but i wouldnt go out of my way to listen to it. i like 'starlight' for its interesting chords, but really disliked 'jungle' - mainly because it was shit - didnt mind 'big wheels', 'mr blue sky' would be worse if it wasnt nostalgic
Man this is a fucking classic I've had an absolutely mental couple days but holy shit does this feel like a warm hug to get back to. I'm not gonna name specific tracks, it's too consistantly good and im way too delirious.
its been pretty annoying so far, 'homesick's alright, some of the riffs are alright, punk isnt my thing like at all so. For an abum with such good guitar tones its pretty underwhelming. i quite like 'country yard' for its harmonies but if i want harmonies i'll just go the beach boys, and even in rare moments of enjoyment you get an absolute piece of shit tune like 'factory that totally fucking obliterates the vibe and or mood. feels more like a couple good songs and tonnes of badly written upbeat funk punk or whatever the fuck the intolerable parts are (which is most of it). again 'mary jane' is okay which is then immediately followed by 'aint no room' which features a guitar line remeniscent of an air raid siren, and equally as pleasant as one.
I am really enjoying the baroque pop influences, a few tracks are really neat, and the dip in quality with those less good is not substantial. the use of effects creates a rich tapestry of sound, which, when complimented by the meandering fantastical lyrics, provides a pleasant listening experience. my highlights were 'nine pound hammer', 'magic hollow' - the only track i'd heard before, and 'the wolf of velvet fortune'
Learn to play more than 4 chords mate fucking hell
hard rock isnt so much my thing but man has this been good so far, the energy of the performance is stunning from the outset, replete with some killer bass licks its just a pretty cool album
im so fucking ill i cant write a review i like this album
spitty speach
Totally fuckd this one and didnt listen to it yesterday but i dug out my cd today and looked at the music video for bittersweet symphony and learned that everyone in this band hates eachother now. Pretty good album i like it. neo-psychedelic influences are interesting and lend a lot to the albums composition. beats fucking oasis.
some really cool tracks, but others that just dont feel needed, i think i may have accidentally listened to the super extended version though
the sheer fucking sleeze i felt listening to this album is second only to the grimiest blues. unfortunately substantial drop in quality from like track 13 - dont even mind hey that much, one of them just doesnt fucking work for me and the rest of the album kinda suffered for it i guess. tracks like thin line and whats golden make this a really reasonable listen. interludes feel consistent and not even that pretentious.
yeah i mean its just soft rock really, sometimes with an extra special really boring twist but like
the instrumentation is pretty middle of the road, doesnt do much to hook me or keep me in
The songwriting is a bit bland, I'm a fan of a few of the songs but that does not a good album make.
fuck its so commercial
Really solid radiohead album. I hate it.
i think it takes 1 minute and 51 seconds of the first track to solidify this as a timeless fucking classic. that fucking keychange. alright fuck off.
this album was as big as a really fuckin big brick!!
surprisingly entertaining
not really my thing
its really good but too long
its been a bit since i've been generated an album i fell in love with more, i've been given stuff i already like and shit but this is just such a fucking good album its so fucking funny
yeah its influential i dont really like it that much though
played too many times for the single respectable track
not really a fan of accapella and it reminds me too much of graceland which i hate
just didnt do anything hugely interesting, there were some sweet songs but not much else
sparkly af, all of the songs are meandering and cool a fun listen
a lot of the production techniques are just dreamy ad infinitum, listening to this i feel as if im being played a very generic 80s album through a massive, ethereally glowing orb
people that like music like this must be so fucking boring
this was so generic that i fell asleep
its classic blues! its classic! its 4 am! i dont know how to go to sleep anymore!
