Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes
May 07 2025

Pretty, but this is a classic “background noise vinyl” record for me. The songs sound great but don’t move me in any particular way. White Winter Hymnal is still a banger.

Can't Buy A Thrill by Steely Dan
May 08 2025

Hyper polished but in the best way. The deep cuts are also great here. Not a note out of place.

Horses by Patti Smith
May 09 2025

This has a lot of elements that I like and is clearly influential to so many artists I love but I can’t get over how grating Patti’s voice sounds to me and how much I hate her vocal rhythm and inflection choices

Parsley, Sage, Rosemary And Thyme by Simon & Garfunkel
May 11 2025

A really nice, pleasant, “background vinyl” album. I feel similarly about this as I do the fleet foxes album.

May 12 2025

So much of this album is like Motley Crue 10 years ahead of its time, until the latter half with a really fun ragtime turn. Didn’t expect to like Queen’s deep cuts this much, though a lot of it is instrumental acrobatics that undercut the songwriting, especially in the front half.

Melodrama by Lorde
May 13 2025

Really great pop album. The “icy” vocal effects are cool and felt influential, inspired a lot of other artists. This was antonoff production IIRC.

Group Sex by Circle Jerks
May 14 2025

Not like a “pleasant listening experience” but the playing here absolutely shreds. Drums and guitar whip ass.

Bandwagonesque by Teenage Fanclub
May 15 2025

This is fine but tbh this kind of sludgy mid tempo alt rock from the early 90s doesn’t really do it for me. If the melodies don’t hit like Weezer’s blue album then idk what I’m supposed to feel here.

Liege And Lief by Fairport Convention
May 16 2025

I understand why this is a classic. Really enjoyed it.

Low by David Bowie
May 17 2025

Really cool, obviously influential. Casually fun to listen to but not like a blast by any means.

May 18 2025

Beautiful, funky, sonically adventurous. Especially the instrumental work. The constant falsetto vocal became a bit overbearing eventually.

Headquarters by The Monkees
May 19 2025

Fun, pleasant, not a classic but better than expected

The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths
May 20 2025

Obviously morrissey and marr get the attention but the rhythm section is super underrated

Gold by Ryan Adams
May 21 2025

Exceedingly listenable. Might need to listen again to see if it’s actually memorable but it is just effortlessly pleasant which is an accomplishment in itself. This guy is a douche tho

Surrealistic Pillow by Jefferson Airplane
May 22 2025

This didn’t really do anything for me

Ananda Shankar by Ananda Shankar
May 23 2025

Something different, I enjoyed the change of pace

Toys In The Attic by Aerosmith
May 25 2025

Obvious why the hits are the hits. They’re bangers but everything else is forgettable.

Broken English by Marianne Faithfull
May 26 2025

Interesting but not enjoyable

Vulnicura by Björk
May 28 2025

Challenging but very affecting. I won’t listen regularly but glad I did at least once.

Autobahn by Kraftwerk
May 29 2025

This is fine as background work music. I understand it was also very technically influential but doesn’t necessarily hold up as an interesting modern listening experience.

Street Signs by Ozomatli
May 30 2025

Was probably super influential to Lin Manuel Miranda

Live At Leeds by The Who
May 31 2025

Just obviously the best rock musicians in the world at that time

Lady Soul by Aretha Franklin
Jun 01 2025

It’s a classic! Love it

Tapestry by Carole King
Jun 03 2025

Fine, great songwriting but just not to my taste

Oedipus Schmoedipus by Barry Adamson
Jun 04 2025

Cool, evocative, but not super fun or anything

Jun 05 2025

Controversial, sure, but tbh I just didn’t like this. John’s screams sounded terrible.

Jun 06 2025

What the fuck, man. I get it, it’s moody and spooky. Pretty rough listen if you actually like music

Graceland by Paul Simon
Jun 07 2025

It’s fine

Tanto Tempo by Bebel Gilberto
Jun 08 2025

Pleasant, inoffensive

Hard Again by Muddy Waters
Jun 09 2025

This kind of blues just doesn’t do it for me. I appreciate it, but don’t really enjoy it.

The Visitors by ABBA
Jun 11 2025

More interesting production than I anticipated

Rock Bottom by Robert Wyatt
Jun 18 2025

Too weird for me

So Much For The City by The Thrills
Jun 19 2025

Boring. Belle and Sebastian did everything here better.

It's Blitz! by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Jun 20 2025

It’s great, it’s cool, but I’ve never been obsessed with it

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Jun 22 2025
Jul 03 2025

A lot of the production was interesting but the songwriting just did nothing for me

Scott 2 by Scott Walker
Jul 04 2025
Talking Heads 77 by Talking Heads
Jul 05 2025

It’s awesome, I’ll just probably never listen to it for pleasure.

Hejira by Joni Mitchell
Jul 06 2025
The Dreaming by Kate Bush
Jul 10 2025

Weird, baffling, but cool and daring.

Ten by Pearl Jam
