The Rolling Stones
4/5
I’ve always had a lot of respect for the stones even though I never grew up listening to them and only know a handful of their songs. This record is such a vibe and I could see how if this came into your life at the right time how it could dominate you completely. Such a great sound: moody, catchy and unafraid to stretch out. I had heard Wild Horses before and always liked it but when surrounded by all the other songs on this record it especially shines. The A-side of this is superb from start to finish. Highlights for me are Brown Sugar, Sway, Wild Horses and the absolutely epic Can’t You Hear Me Knocking.

Yet another record I’d never heard of but the gist of it is imagine if the most 80s sounding record was made by an Italian but all in English. There’s a quote from GTA Vice City on one of the radio stations that says “we’ll tell you what’s good and play it until you like it”. This album made me realize that a lot of the 80s music that has stood the test of time might just be popular because we decided it was. Granted I don’t think this was as good as say Tears for Fears or David Bowie but damn this better than some of those Phil Collin’s records. Overall no songs really jumped out at me but it’s not a terrible listen.
