Rufus WainwrightQuite artsy, not really my style Feels like a prototype for the indie sadboys of the 2010s "Straight men, oh what a world" is a strange lyric all the songs sound kinda the same

Only song I knew before this from the album was Green Light which is the highlight of the album Some hits some misses but generally at least okay/good and definitely more hits than misses for me Not the greatest of the pop girlies but a good one nonetheless, and it's a good sad breakup album
Great guitars, very instrumental, pretty okay vocals and songs tended to be on the longer side
Girl from Ipanema good Backing track sounds elevator music-y Kinda relaxing tbh The sax kinda slaps ngl Really nice throughout, not really a dip in quality Corcovado is such a smooth listen
Seven nations army good, shocker Black math kinda good too middle of the album is a bit more of a dud Solid generally but hit and miss 3.5/5
the world is yours is such a banger good album all around
Honestly thought I'd like this way more than I did, was expecting more songs like born to run and maybe it's on me for having the wrong expectations going in but idk basically none of the songs on this album grabbed me at all
supermassive black hole is good honestly better overall than I expected, good stuff generally couldn't help but think of twilight...
honestly just not for me in the slightest bleh songs all round
Elvis costello- my aim is true 1977 Favourite songs- I'm not angry/welcome to the working week Overall rating: 3/5 If the rest of the album was like I'm not angry or welcome to the working week it'd be an easy 5, but he keeps jumping from genre to genre and the songs don't flow into each other really- massive potential and I'm sure his albums after his debut would be better
