It was kind of annoying at times, but I liked listening to her voice, and there were some cool sounds. I had only really heard Paper Planes (which sounds way different with headphones than on medium volume in a car on the highway), and it was cool to hear some of her other stuff. I liked the beats. 5/10
I've odviously heard them before, but never listened to a whole album. I liked the sound, very upbeat, and fun to listen to. I didn't pay much attention to the lyrics, but they didn't relate to me too much. 6/10
The sound was kind of old, but it was still fun to listen to. I liked the sound, and I recognized a couple of the songs. None of the lyrics really stood out to me. Also they sing in a kinda funny way. I liked it. 5.5/10
Heard lots by the pogues, but cool to hear a whole album. I didn't really like the slow songs, but the others were great. This isn't something I'd pick out to listen on my own, but we listen to them in my family a lot so it feels familiar. All the instruments they use are cool, and I liked the instrumental bits. Most of the songs were new to me. Only reason I liked it was for the sound and thats it's familiar to me. 4.5/10
I've heard this before odviously, but it's an iconic album as always. I like it because there's so many songs I know that are good, and the rest fit right in. This album is straight fire. I would give it a 10, but I don't know it well enough. 9/10
I do NOT like music like this. It sounds old and the lyrics are all lovey dovey. It's too upbeat, all the songs have the same instruments and sound so similar. I know it's classic or whatever, but I can't stand this. It could be worse, because the instruments are played well. 2/10
A few songs drag on too long, but they're mostly fun and interesting. All the songs are longer than normal (5+ minutes). It wasn't what I was expecting from the album title/band name, there was very minimal to no screaming. I liked the instrumental bits of songs, and when they transition into something cooler. I like the cover but it would be cuter if it had a little smile. There were some cool solos, but they dragged on a little too long. The sax one was hilarious. This album was interesting, had cool noises, and even if I don't listen again it was definitley fun to hear once. 6.5/10
Feels less old than the other things from the 1950s-60s. I really liked Kicks, and it kinda went downhill from there. I know they set it up so more people would hear it, but imagine how much of a stronger album it would be if it came later. I liked the lengths of the songs, did not feel like they were dragging on. It sounds really upbeat to me, and I find it hilarious that this would've been considered to be what metal is these days. I bet people would've had a heart attack if they heard metal. I love listening to artists like this who know how to use their instruments. Like, there are so many cool sounds you can make with a guitar, and this album has so many. I really enjoyed this album, even though it's not what I normally listen to. 5.5/10
This album is fun, upbeat, the bass is amazing. I recognized "that thing". It sounded so cheerful and took my mind off stuff. I really liked this album, it was perfect energy and vibe. 8/10
No offense to anyone, but I strongly dislike the beatles. Their music is repetitive, boring, and I don't like the way they sing. I know that they are iconic and popular, but I'm not going to let that effect my review. This is based on the music itself. I recognized a few. I didn't like this, but it isn't tooooo hard to listen to or it would have a lower score. 2/10
I can tell what this album is going to be like from the first note. I don't normally like blues or whatever this is, but I'll try it. I didn't end up listening to this whole album because I got the point. I didn't hate it, but I don't think I'd want to listen to this again. The instruments were pretty cool, but it was very slow, and because I don't listen to this genre(jazz/blues I think, I don't really know the difference), most of the songs sounded the same. It has a nice sound, I just don't want to hear forty minutes of it. I do like the lettering on the cover though. 3.5/10
Haha funny cover. I've heard their album from 2011 with the car on it, "Gold on the ceiling", and it was cool to listen to another one of their albums. Lots of instrumental parts. I kept waiting for the songs to build or have exciting parts, but they all felt boring and repetitive. None of the lyrics stood out to me, and the voice he sung in wasn't my favorite. It was fine to listen to once, but I don't need to hear it again. 3/10
I didn't recognize anything from here. I prefered the louder/fast songs to the slow quiet songs. Even though I don't normally listen to music this sound/style I didn't hate it. Elvis has a beautiful voice. It's definitley one of the older albums on this list, but I'd call it classic before I call it old. 4/10
Interesting way to start an album... 5 minutes of instrumental, a strange choice. For some reason I was under the impression that this band was louder, it was too quiet for me. The voice sounds the same as all their other songs, and I find it a little annoying if I'm being honest. The songs all sounded a little too similar to each other. The album cover is weird looking. My favorite was "killer queen". 4/10
I only listened to a few songs because they're repetitive and very long. People were saying this isn't the right album? I just went with the one it is linked to because I couldn't find anything else. I didn't like this too much, but I do prefer it to the lofi stuff my teachers play during work time. 1.5/10
So I decided to listen to the non deluxe version, it was already long enough. Very glad I knew it was a concept album before I listen -- I can actually focus on it now. Amazing cover by the way, it looks like a statue. I think this appealed to me because my family listens to music like this a lot (including the Who) but I've never really listened to it on my own. So I'm not too surprised I liked it. Wait. This was '69? No way. This sounds like 80s, so much better than all the other stuff from the 60s and 70s. I did not like the 10 minute long instrumental song. I had trouble following the plot, but it was cool how they talked to Tommy sometimes and it felt like they were talking to you. I wonder how they picked the name Tommy. Fun, interesting, but a little confusing and felt kind of long. Why is the last song 7 minutes it's dragging like crazy. 3.5/10
Okay. Sounded wayy older than 2008. The second song tho??? Is that a cover or what? One time our building sub had us sing that in advisory and dang.... I wish it was last year. I liked the vibes of some of the songs, but not what they actually sounded like. Not awful. Wish it were noisier, but they're good with the guitars and I like how peaceful the vocals are. 4.5/10
A little too quiet for my liking, but other than thst not bad. I don't love music like this. The only song I recognized on here is bang a gong. Nice, upbeat album. The cover is cool. 5/10
It was interesting. Not too basic, nice vocals, I enjoyed it. 3/10
I liked the volume. It was hard to hear the vocals at times. 5.5/10
It was okay, but it all the songs felt too similar to each other. Weird ass cover. Like who in their right mind spends hours on songs and then makes something like THIS be the cover. 3/10
My ex friend who I am no longer on speaking terms with really likes Elliott Smith. I listened to Either/Or because of him. I much prefer this album. It's also a lot better than most of the stuff I've had on this website so far. I like 90s stuff way better than 50s, which I've been getting a lot of. I liked the volume, vibes, and some of the lyrics. It felt peaceful. I find it really funny he released it January 1st in 2000. Like imagine if the computer glitch happened and oh well there goes your whole LP. I bet he woulda been sweating bullets. I like the color pallet of the album (it could very much be a white stripes cover, thats why I like it). 6/10
I thought this band was louder. It wasn't bad though. I enjoyed the vibe, it felt like rap but rock. The beats (what I would call it for hip hop) were repetitive, and some instrumental bits. Fun. 7/10
I was surprised how few songs were on it, but it makes sense because there were a few very long songs. I actually enjoyed the long instrumental bits in these songs, and noticed the minimal lyrics. It was definitley a vibe..... which the cover does not fit. It's cute though. The first song was a banger. 6.5/10
Short and sweet. I like how bands used to put the hit songs on the cover. Amazing band name too. I LOVED the noise that started this album. I only really liked the louder songs on here and there weren't enough of those. But I really liked the first track. 3.5/10
I'm surprised I've never heard of this artist. This is very similar to music I like, except it's 15-20 years older than what people think of when you say pop punk. The vocals are a lot quietet and easier to hear though. This gives major Kerplunk vibes. Very bright cover, too. Looks like something you'd see in a modern art museum. Spotify says this was released in '86 but the website says 1987, just something to note. It is longer than I'd like it. I didn't hate this album, but I don't recognize any songs and I only needed to hear a few because they all sound a little similar. Not bad. 7/10
This is a vibe. Chill, happy music. Feels like what I'd play during a summer party. All the songs sound really similar. 5.5/10
Fire cover. Not bad, just not the vibe I need at the moment. I will totally put this on sometime when I need to do my homework. 5.5/10
Fun and recognizable. Listened to it in the kitchen with my family. 7/10
YESSSS ANOTHER ONE I ALREADY KNOW!! Gotta love the 80s. I always find it funny how they named it green, but the cover is orange. I LOVE this album. We listen to it at home, and so I recognized a bunch of songs. I find the lyrics of 'Get Up' hilarious, "Dreams, they complicate my life" and that's coming from REM (Like, sleep). I enjoyed it. 8/10
Another band I know! Yay! But I haven't listen to this album. It was really good, chill, mysterious vibe, not too loud, I loved the instrumental part in 'Uncertain Smile' and the ominous sounds in the title track. Fun listen. 6.5/10
It was good. Usually hip hop is annoying for me to listen to, it sounds too rough. This on the other hand felt chill, and her voice was nice to listen to. 7/10
Chill. Liked the vibe. 6/10
Fun interesting album we listen to at home a bunch. A little too quiet for my liking. 6.5/10
Very loud, which I like. There were some annoying sounds like in Tattered, but overall good. 7/10
Uh not my favorite, but not bad. It was cool how it started with an instrumental track, but once it got to the singing in the 2nd song.... ehhhhh what was that tone of voiceeee. AND WHY 9 MINUTES :O
I really enjoyed this. I'd never heard of them but this was super chill. Doesn't feel unpleasant like other stuff like this. Vocals were smooth and nice to listen to. This was wonderful.
Great! Nice listen right before bed. Calm peaceful. Kinda sad vibe, but I like that. "Days like this I don't know what to do with myself" - Sullen girl
Lots of piano too. Raw(?) vocals. Interesting. 6/10
Uh I don't think I'm gonna like this. What is this cover. At least it says the title. Which is also weird. I think albums are fine to judge by their covers. No? I can tell exactly what this is going to be like just from the cover.
I'm too depressed to be adventurous at the moment, but I love this band. We used to listen to "breaking the law" on the way to rec soccer games when we were like 7.
AHHH YESSS. Not that I like music like this. Idk if I can survive a whole Leonard Cohen album, but my parents used to play stuff like this all the time when I was growing up. And talk about a boring cover. No offense.
Kinda quiet and a little boring, but its chill
I loveee this album, these chill, vibey beats and I love the way he sings
