Harvest by Neil Young

Very mellow album with a few stand outs (Heart of Gold and Old Man, of course) though a lot of the other songs just felt very slow and redundant

Madman Across The Water by Elton John

What a way to start this challenge! I remember Tiny Dancer used to sneak into all my generated playlists on Spotify, so this was pretty ironic, haha I had never listened to the full album before and I found that a lot of the songs felt similar to one another. I enjoyed listening to it, but I feel that nothing stood out too much. Great album regardless

Sounded like a lot of noise to me, though after reading about this album, I understand that that was kind of the point and I respect its influence on many rock sub-genres

So many classics on their debut album! I'd never fully listened to this, but recognized many of the tracks and had a great time listening to it all. (and of course, Free Bird brought me back to that scene in Forrest Gump as it always does, perfect music selection for that scene)

Oedipus Schmoedipus by Barry Adamson

This album was trying something and I think it absolutely went way over my head. No idea what theme or feel it was going for. It was creepy at times, jazzy at times, then there was a fairytale? I had such whiplash I didn't actually listen to the tale. I think this may just really not be for me. I tried looking up this album to see what warranted its presence on this list, but wasn't able to find any influence it may have had on any genre or people. Overall, I did enjoy the occasional noire feel it had and it being near Halloween may have done it favours for me, other than that, though this was an odd one for sure. Oh! and I absolutely did not enjoy the suggestive sounds that were in the first track, I did not need that in my ears while at the office.

Tricky one to rate. On one hand, I listened to it while working and enjoyed it. It reminded me of Video Game music. On the other hand, I recall none of it and if I had decided to sit down and actively listen, I doubt I would have liked it as much. Overall, I'm confused about the inclusion of this album on this list.

Tricky one to rate after learning about some context. I enjoyed the album overall, but they were all covers of blues music that ended up feeling distilled. I also found it odd to hear the riff from Day Tripper (a song that had just been released) be just casually dropped in What'd I Say. That cover just made me want to listen to Ray Charles and The Beatles. (doesn't help that these were covers of songs by black artists and that Eric Clapton is a racist)
