only listened to discs 1+2. Was wonderful!! Definitely a Christmas pick

Very fun 60s pre-psychedelick. The melodies are there, creative drums, a lotta surf rock. Little more ambitious than the other projects of this type, it feels like. Would definitely listen again.

Thought this album sounded terrible and wooden at first. It wasn't until listen 3 that i realized the equalizer settings were just weird and had washed out all the sparkle from the guitar and any edge from the voice. PSA for the Spotify listeners: make sure the equalizer is NOT set to 'rock'! >:(

I appreciate the spirit of this album even though its perhaps not my cup of tea. The songs sound kind of samey and the songwriting isnt my favorite. The guitar rips, though; loud sounds, cool riffs and those planet-shattering, laconic solos.

Was busy and only got to give it one listen. I loved it! Excited to relisten and discover more.

I really thought I'd had my fill of alt rock but this one I really loved. It makes sense I suppose. Later alt acts were trying to capture some of what they heard here, where Stipe and co. were drinking straight from the creative wellspring. It really took me a sec to warm up to Stipe's vocals and the songwriting. My morning listen left me feeling lukewarm and was ready to slap on the 3 participation stars come tomorrow. Fortune had it that I had nothing to read for the commute home so I spun it again. When 'hairshirt' hit I realized just how much I dig this album. I listened to it twice more after that. Good shit.

Great album but bound with so many teenage emotions and memories that I would rather leave in the past

I had never listened to Hejira before but I feel somehow that it has been there my whole life. It fills me with nostalgia.
