Vanishing Point by Primal Scream
Nov 22 2025

Track 1: With a name like “Primal Scream,” I was expecting a very loud, brash album that wouldn’t appeal to me much. But, as of the first track “Burning Wheel,” I am thoroughly enjoying it. There are lots of elements which remind me of the music I so dearly love from the 60s. There are also lots of Shoegaze and ambient aspects which are fun. The panning and reversed snare on the opening track reminds me a lot of “Are You Experienced?” by Jimi Hendrix. Track 2: Very nice drum machine, not trying to be too much, reminds me of “There’s a Riot Goin’ on” by Sly and the Family Stone. I love me a good instrumental and this has done very well at keeping my attention by using panning and atmosphere building as the song flows. I want to know why they titled it “Get Duffy” though. Track 3: Smooth transition, love it. For being as creepy and weird as it is, I’m grooving right now. They said the line!!! This feels like something I should hate but I’m really feeling it. Track 4: Oh wow!! “Star” is by far one of my favorite songs of the 90s I’ve ever heard. Hard hitting, still poignant lyrics that I feel so deeply. This will for sure be joining my regular rotation. Track 5: Crazy title, stood out when I was looking at the track list. It reminds me of LEGO City Undercover LMAO. Track 6: Ugh I love the use of Indian classical instruments in tandem with the more modern ones. This is another very vibey one, vocals remind me of Pearls Before Swine. This is another fav so far. Track 7: Okay so this is a little scary. I like it but it’s a little too much for my everyday listening… hey so I’m more scared now. Track 8: Okay this is easier on the ears while still being a bit more gritty. I’m getting very proto-punk vibes, love it. The ending gave “Hey Bulldog,” so fun!! Track 9: Oh hi scary voice. This is palatable loud and scary I enjoy it. Oh big boom. Track 10: 8 minutes, hoping it’ll keep my attention. Ooh I’m grooving. Right about halfway and I’m still feeling it, love that. Definitely could’ve been a little shorter but I wasn’t bored! Track 11: Beautiful closing track, ties it all up very well. Another favorite of mine. I really enjoyed this! Far from my regular listening but I had a lot of fun with it!

Play by Moby
Nov 23 2025

Yeah I don’t think this is for me. I’ll finish it but I can’t really keep my attention on it… sorry. I understand the artistry but it’s far from my thing.

Tommy by The Who
Nov 26 2025

While I personally prefer the movie soundtrack version (hot take!!), this album still holds such a special place in my heart. Just a fun time with some WEIRD moments that make it even more endearing. A deserved classic.

May 04 2026

if you know me, you know i struggle with “80s sounding” music. but, this albums songs were good enough to push through a good bit :)

such a comfort album for me, always good to just put on when i need it. village green is still my favorite of their albums, but this is close.

Fulfillingness' First Finale by Stevie Wonder
May 07 2026

such a classic, surprisingly the first stevie album i got on vinyl. i love it so much, but in my opinion the albums surrounding it have higher highs, leading it to only be 4 stars instead of 5.

Survivor by Destiny's Child
May 11 2026

good bit of filler but its highlights are some of the highest points of any music ever

May 12 2026

thoroughly enjoyed!! i think it could’ve done for one more uptempo song just to keep pacing smooth, and also ending on anything but a board fade would be nice. otherwise incredible!!

made sure to listen in a way that wouldn’t give him any money because kanye is an evil evil man… but dang he made some GREAT music

such a gorgeous album. leonard cohen’s lyricism is such a big influence for me and the soundcapes he makes are so intimate yet mystifying. i absolutely adore this album.

The Who Sell Out by The Who

one of my favorite stones albums, though i’m just not huge on the stones. hard to rate for me really as my enjoyment depends on the day

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Jun 20 2026

not a perfect album but damn near it, it’s best tracks might just be the least listened to ones. i’m giving it 5 stars but just know it’s more like a 95/100

Aja by Steely Dan
Jun 23 2026

a technically marvelous album, but as i think ive said before with steely dan, it almost feels inhuman due to the total cleanliness and shimmer

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Jul 25 2026

possibly THE entry point when it comes to jazz, my first was “a love supreme” by coltrane, but i think the genre would’ve clicked a lot easier if i started here (not to say “a love supreme” isn’t a perfect album, it’s more than perfect)

The Hour Of Bewilderbeast by Badly Drawn Boy

Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix
Aug 18 2026

all 3 of jimi’s studio albums are impeccable. i’m glad the american version is the canon version of the album because i enjoy it a lot more, but shockingly enough i think this currently might be my 3rd favorite jimi album?? which is crazy bc pretty much every song is near perfect
