1001 Albums Summary

A classic! I was 5 years old when this was first released and so I didn't listen to it seriously until much later, in my teen years. But it's been one of my favorites since the 70's.

I'm enjoying this. But it's far from perfect. There are moments of brilliance interspersed with moments of sheer meh.

I liked it a lot better than I thought I would. Hip Hop / Rap is still not my favorite genre, and I'll never be arriving home and thinking "Man I want to put on that Hip Hop album...", but I guess I have learned to tolerate it more as I've grown old.

Definitely not my favorite Kate Bush Album, a bit bombastic and half baked.

What can be said? It's a masterpiece, every track a gem!

Absolute dreck. About as close to entirely unlistenable as any record I've ever heard. I am having to be really nice to myself today after having forced myself to listen to that garbage yesterday.

Interesting 80s pop. This act seems like they're trying very hard to be different. At times it works, some of the tracks are really good and engaging. Others seem to be trying too hard to be unique and end up being not fun to listen to.

Good old fashioned kick ass rock n roll! Love it!

This is really interesting right off the bat. Listening to this, I can hear that he brought a lot to Massive Attack's music. It's interesting to hear his music without any of the other MA elements accompanying.

First time I've heard this album, first time I've heard this band. I'm digging it. It's got a moody, smoldering kind of vibe. Reminds me of early Radiohead.

First time hearing this artist. Some really nice accompianment by David Rawlings. It's well recorded, the songs are well crafted. I liked it. But it's not really my cup of tea.

A proto punk classic! I really appreciate Iggy's energy and vibe. My taste runs more toward a bit more refinement. But this was really fun!

It started out nice with our prayer and Heroes and Villains, but it got worse with every song. These songs have got some nice music, but the lyrics are stupid and annoying. The performances are good, but they end up being good performances of bad songs. Not for me.

No one should ever have to listen to this. Pure dreck.

A Brit Pop Classic, a masterpiece!

Brings me back. I have heard this album before, not my cup of tea for the most part with a few bright spots here and there. But I can appreciate the passion.

This is really excellent! I'm upset that I haven't heard this until now! But I'm really glad that I started this 1001 album journey!

A masterpiece, a magnum opus.
