In A Silent Way by Miles Davis
Feb 25 2026

Slightly different than I was expecting, I thought it was going to be pure blues/soul jazz but it’s quite mystical, and kind of tells a story. The music may be from some film or tv program I’ve watched, I’m thinking of Louis Theroux documentary for some reason.

Live And Dangerous by Thin Lizzy
Feb 27 2026

Very similar to Black Sabbath, but more fruity.

Feb 28 2026

Lacked distinction. Some tracks like ‘You are my best friend’ and ‘Bohemian Rhapsody, are exceptional, but in the context of the full album, they lose their poignance. Some nice sounds throughout, however a general lack of flow. I don’t want to rate it 3 star as an objective measure because it’s far better than average music as a whole. But I will, in the context of the 1001 greatest albums. I was expecting more.

Hotel California by Eagles
Mar 08 2026

This album made me feel about my current episode in life. The voice of the main singer is mesmerising and the guitar soars you up to the clouds. Only negatives is that the album lacks narrative and cohesion

21 by Adele
Mar 09 2026

I like the rolling in deep song, but the rest of the album seemed like elevator music. Not Adele’s best album

Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes
Mar 14 2026

I get why these sorts of albums, are on the list. And when I say sorts I mean iconic, maybe part of a movement, maybe just very popular at the time. But aren’t they disappointing from an ignorant, path well trodden kind of way. But as I listen to this I feel a sense of openness, an aliveness, that I’m discovering new music. In hyperbolic there is a richness to the piano, a determination from the musician to stay in the moment. The soul fights to stay alive. One woman is a song of celebration and joy. As multiple women sing in the choir, they echo the sentiments of approval of the man’s love for her.

Never heard of this band before. Kind of like Evanescence meets chase and status
