Truly a fantastic hip hop album that embodies the era it's from. Really fantastic dark themes in some of the songs too
Star man is one of my favorite songs, rest of the album is good, but that song is the highlight for me.
100 yrs - cool sort of foreboding sound in the guitar and synths, vocals are rough for me, great ending
Short term - great intro and instruments throughout, feels like an acid trip in a way
Hanging Garden - vocals are growing on me, very awesome chugging feeling with the drums and bass, super cool how the vocals glide through it
Siamese twins - feels like a ghost movie?
Figurehead - Calls back with a similar feeling as the first two songs, great middle ground.
Strange day - can you tell this album was made in the 80's? Great chord progression, percussion and cool ending effect.
Cold - holy shit that beginning. This is what I imagine entering a dungeon in a castle would feel like, grim, dark, chords with that driving bass note. New favorite, hard to beat
Pornography - continued the foreboding sound from the rest of the album, with the ending line being something like "I need a treatment for this sickness" its kind of cool implications with the band name
Mr. Self: Qobuz said this was pop?? Lmao
Piggy: Very grimey and industrial which is dope
Heresy: yeah previous two points are being reinforced, this is a very unique sound and it's a lot of fun!
March of th pigs: fun continuation
Closer: so this song sounds so awesome and I love the instrumentation of it. However, it lost me on the lyrical content, and while there
IS a way to do vulgar lyrics this just isn't it for me, maybe I'm missing context from the album but it brought down the song a bit for me.
Ruiner: Good middle ground to reset on
The becoming: crazy bridge in the middle for the lyrical content and sound of the rest of the song, nasty back half of the song
I dont want: uhh cool time signature!
Big man gun:
Reptile: so this is how you start a song with vulgar lyrics! Subject matter is super dope, love the implications of feeding herself as a reptile or whatever it said, I'm working as I listen and this is standing out as a favorite based on the lyrics.
Hurt: Johnny Cash
Would be a 2.5 but no half stars
Just a gigolo: Oh it's just so groovy
For my baby: vocals, bass, piano, and snare just hits so nicely, also they make silly noises
The lip: fun story and funny noises!
Body and soul: the horn was so good and then it got a bit faster! So good!
Oh Marie: jumpy and fun are the two words that come to mind so far for this album, just a pleasant stroll is what it feels like.
Basis/Sleepy: Just a great voice for this kind of music
Jump, Jive and Wail: general note for the whole thing, whoever is playing the instruments is just having so much fun(at least it sounds like it)
Buona Sera: cute little waltzy song
night train: it's just exactly what it sounds like
Banana Split: I laughed out loud
I was hesitant initially because I really hate the song Rocketman but this was a genuinely pleasant surprise and I loved the album.
I've heard the hits off of this but never the full thing, incredibly beautiful album wow.
Yeah it's pretty good
I didn't realize the first song was radiohead, I've heard it a lot lmao. Anyways this album is what an existential crisis feels like because it gave me one
I never know what to expect from this app lmao
Señorita: good opening
2-3-4: good rythms throughout, wish it used the longer run times to develop the sound a little more, just feels the same throughout each song
Cry me a river: oh that intro was fucking nasty.
This song is doing what I just asked the previous songs to do lmao
Arethra makes me think of my girlfriend who I am in love with
The first half of this album kinda carried
