the best part of this album is ~9:20 into the last song, when they played Jupiter from Holst’s Planets for like 5 seconds (which was followed by 10 minutes of random noise)

This feels like a "Yeah, this was a major influence" album. In that, if you read an interview with, like, Turnstile or Fontaines DC or another rock band today, they'd say, "Yeah, this album was a major influence." Then you listen to the album and recognize the influences, but realize you don't like it as much as what the later band did with those influences. Music is iterative.
