Really enjoyed this. At times the songs seemed a tad too long or overindulgent but that was the style of that era.
Definitely interested to hear more from this guy.
Urgh. Some points were less bad than others but overall wasn't my thing. Don't quite understand the tribal music.
I loved this. I love a live album at the best of times, but this one was excellent. Great singing and storytelling interwoven with live ad libs.
This started off kinda interesting but after a while I felt like I kept hearing the same melody with slight variations over and over. Not the worst but not one to revisit.
This is one I've heard before. Nothing has changed, I still think the guy was fantastically talented singing and playing wise, however I stand by thinking this seems a little unfocused and not quite my thing.
This was approached with some openness. I used to "hate" The Cure but began to realise over time that I actually quite liked some of their hits. I feel like this is an album that can be "earned" by me. It's not something I instantly loved, but there's enough there that says with a few replays I could like it more. Hmm.
I was not expecting this. I was expecting rock for one thing... Nice enough, felt like the kind of hiphip I grew up around but the songs were too long in my opinion.
I dislike Bowie so when this popped up I was already narked. His personal stuff aside I find his voice/tone unpleasant and his music to be dated. And this album changed none of that.
Bruce is very earnest. And he definitely can sing and write a tune but unfortunately this one didn't do it for me.
This was refreshing. I was a little confused by the language switches as I hadn't heard of the artist before, but the switches actually kept me more engaged.
Ehhh. Too many bad words and smut for me.
This wasn't as one note as I'd expected and I definitely rocked along a little bit. The live songs were highlights for me and I never got bored. I won't dread them if they appear again.
I remember when this album was released and being excited about it. Shortly after, I stopped identifying as a Radiohead fan. Absolute cack, but not earsplittingly so.
I enjoyed this! I didn't move me deeply or change my world view, but it's definitely something I'd listen to again.
I did not hate this! Pretty enjoyable romp all told. Was expecting something a lot less upbeat and a lot more droney. Result.
The album cover really disturbs me. The album itself was less disruptive. Not the worst, but not something I'm dying to replay.
Is this my favourite album of all time? No. But I bloody enjoyed it.
I like more Beatles stuff than I may be willing to admit to people I know. And that's okay.
This was okay but that’s about as much as I have to say on it.
This was altogether too long, but, I enjoyed quite a bit of it. Would have a higher rating had it been more concise.
It was certainly different. But it was too long and didn't enjoy the random English song(s) mixed in, took me out of it a bit so taking a star for that.
Still one of my favourite albums even if I don't class myself as a fan since Kid A.
The drums were driving me insane by minute 5. Sorry, congrats on your technical ability but that was not enjoyable.
This was fine. Mellow and understated. Fit my mood quite well. Maybe it's one to return to...
This album seems somewhat dated, the 90s music, the OTT drug references and misogyny (although let's be real that's still a thing now) and the frequent n bombs. I didn't mind it though. The music made up for the basic lyrics and there are definitely some catchy songs.
This did nothing for me. It happened around me and neither enhanced or detracted from my day.
I really, really don't like jazz. This has not improved the situation. Oh God, please make the jazz music stop.
This was pretty overwhelming. I often enjoy the more pleasant side of this genre but this wasn't one of those albums. That "duckaduckaDUCKAduck" sound will haunt my dreams for life. I need a lie down after that.
I really rather enjoyed this! Not much to say about it, it hasn't changed me to the core, but I've spent my time doing worse things.
4/5
This was pretty uninspiring for me unfortunately. Background music at best.
On paper, I should like this. It sounds like the computer game music from my youth. In reality, I did not. And got very bored, very fast.
This was fun! Not the biggest fan of the singer's voice but I can let that go. The last song with the "hidden track" seemed a little pointless, but whatever. Catchy and a bit sweary, but that's fine with me.
I'm probably over rating this, but who cares? Loved it. Punchy, well performed and didn't overstay it's welcome.
Wow, that opening song... The rest wasn't horrific, but not really my jam. Naked Man was pretty interesting, and those are definitely words I never expected to write.
Enjoyed this! Punchy and to the point. Which apparently is my sweet spot. Not life changing enough for top marks but a positive experience.
I've heard this one before and I still don't get the fuss. It's okay, but not winning any new fans here.
This was weird. And odd. And at times slightly unnerving. But I didn't totally hate it. It was a touch dreary - mostly due to the singer - but had enough going for it it kept me listening. Hmm.
Bias firmly in place here. I actually think this is more of a 4.5 out of 5 album but don't want to drop it to 4. I grew up to this one, and it still hits the spot for me 100 years later. Less clean than Nevermind, not as Punchy as Bleach. Solid.
This was certainly different. Liked the music far more than the singing. Shame I had to go over to YouTube to listen to it though.
Started super promisingly, but unfortunately I got a bit sick of her voice after a while. Maybe background music compatable?
Pleasant enough but did nothing for me really. Maybe it's one I need to listen to multiple times to appreciate, but I doubt I'll bother.
Yeah I liked this one! Slightly on the long side for my tastes, but this one kept an old white person discreetly bopping in the safety of their home.
Two things I've learned about Steely Dan since they appeared as my very first album in this project: 1) it's not a dude, it's a band, and 2) I liked that album much better. This was okay but maybe I preferred the departed singer better? Or the debut was a better record? Who knows.
Considering the genre? I was very bored. Music like this usually gets a least a medium bop or wiggle out of me. Ah well.
