Complex, political, genre-bending and ahead of its time. Influential funk at its very best!

How can one album have so many bangers? The only song that detracts from the whole experience is the Paul McCartney one.

This is so incredibly chaotic. I don't really understand what the thread is that's tying it together? Sara and Rhiannon are such amazing tracks and there's also a lot of musical and lyrical prowess on this incredibly long album. But I can't find the central theme that makes it cohesive. As a big FM, I want to love this. Especially since I listened to it so much in my early 20s. Sad I can't rate it higher!

Atmospheric, hazy, dreamy. This album feels like a slice of the 90s in the best possible way. Cherry coloured funk has long been one of my favourite tracks and I'm glad I have had the opportunity to enjoy the rest of the album. A pleasure to experience!

So excited to see this one arrive in the list. On heavy rotation when I was 17, this album feels timeless. Simultaneously being space age and 70's. Comfortable, groovy, atmospheric and calm. The tracks individually are works of art but as a whole it is also brilliant. Love it!
