Seventeen Seconds by The Cure

Very average. I know this band is capable of doing more, and this album wasn’t their best

To have you’re my best friend, love of my life, and Bohemian Rhapsody on the same album, is one of the greatest accomplishments in modern-day history. I know this is only the first album that we are listening to, but it’s going to be hard to beat this collection of songs.

Channel Orange by Frank Ocean

Effortlessly cool. Talking about a past lover, kids who just don’t understand living life and it’s troubles, a girl having to go work the strip club...none of it feels forced. This album rules

Odelay by Beck

Beck rules, no idea how he does it but I look forward to every song as they come next. This album is so good and has so many hits on it, but even the non singles are great. Will listen to again

S&M by Metallica

Love it. Love Metallica, love the orchestral pieces. Overall just an amazing album, love when they mix and match different styles of music like this

To have you’re my best friend, love of my life, and Bohemian Rhapsody on the same album, is one of the greatest accomplishments in modern-day history. I know this is only the first album that we are listening to, but it’s going to be hard to beat this collection of songs.

Vespertine by Björk
Jan 14 2021

Wasn’t a fan. It sounded like the artist was very close to something special here, but none of the songs quite found their footing. I may never listen to this album again

It's Blitz! by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Jan 15 2021

This is a good album, it has a strong open and very good close. The middle lost me for a bit but luckily the ending pulled things together. I didn’t hate listening to it but I also didn’t enjoy it the whole time

Seventeen Seconds by The Cure
Jan 18 2021

Very average. I know this band is capable of doing more, and this album wasn’t their best

Channel Orange by Frank Ocean
Jan 19 2021

Effortlessly cool. Talking about a past lover, kids who just don’t understand living life and it’s troubles, a girl having to go work the strip club...none of it feels forced. This album rules

Pretzel Logic by Steely Dan
Jan 20 2021

A fun romp through songs that seem to not take themselves too seriously. Lighthearted with flicks and picks of the guitar greeted shortly thereafter by soothing sax notes. This is a fun album, full of enjoyable pieces without any overshadowing, overpowering singles to outshine the rest of the songs

Live At The Star Club, Hamburg by Jerry Lee Lewis
Jan 22 2021

This album is just fun, there’s an electricity to listening to Jerry Lee Lewis. Great balls of fire is soooo infectious but the rest of the album is just as much a raucous good time

Face to Face by The Kinks
Jan 25 2021

This is album is fine. Someone could definitely mistake it for the Beatles and that’s not a bad thing, it’s just doesn’t have anything that sets it apart or really stands out. Very average

Dookie by Green Day
Jan 27 2021

This is Green Day at their best. This album is fun, it’s good, it doesn’t overstay its welcome...very nearly a perfect album

Rip It Up by Orange Juice
Jan 28 2021

Some interesting notes here and there but nothing special going on with this one. Listening to it once was enough for me

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins
Jan 29 2021

This album is loooonggg. I ended up listening to the 2 hour version (Spotify kept telling me that was the only available version) but despite all that this album ruled!! There are intricately placed highs that really get you going and some slower songs mingled in there that have you rewinding to make sure you caught what you thought you heard. This album will make it into the normal rotation

Disintegration by The Cure
Feb 01 2021

80’s rhythmic alt pop at its finest, this album has some absolute stunners. It was a joy to listen to and just bop along with

Paul's Boutique by Beastie Boys
Feb 02 2021

Very fun, these guys rule. Had me listening to other beastie boys albums after I was finished cause I wanted more.

Can't Buy A Thrill by Steely Dan
Feb 03 2021

Fun album, steely Dan rips through with guitar sections that take you away on multiple tangents. Always feels like the band is just having fun putting together good music, will listen to again

Close To You by Carpenters
Feb 05 2021

A couple covers, a couple of their own songs. It was a neat trip from start to finish to follow along with songs about starting a relationship all the way to the relationship’s end, but nothing significant came from this album.

School's Out by Alice Cooper
Feb 08 2021

The song “schools out” absolutely rules and it’s an end the school year summer anthem for kids everywhere, probably will be forever. But the rest of the album falls short after a great opener

The Undertones by The Undertones
Feb 10 2021

A really fun, fast paced race through some of their songs, this Undertones album reminded me of Titus andronicus and the likes. A feel of early 2000s garage bands that focus mostly on thrashy, punk rock, I really enjoyed this album and what it brought to the table. Plus, everyone is Irish, so that rules

Technique by New Order
Feb 12 2021

Really enjoyed the different sounds this one came out with. Techno, synthy, some typical 80s alt rock. Good album

Music for the Masses by Depeche Mode
Feb 16 2021

Depeche Mode has such an interesting sound they could be reading the newspaper and it would slap. Unfortunately this album had a few pieces that seemed off, but overall a good listening experience

Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye
Feb 17 2021

One or two great songs on here, ultimately a great funk sounding album. Will listen again for obvious reasons

The Score by Fugees
Feb 22 2021

This album rules. I did not know there were so many hits on this one and I was surprised by how many songs I recognized but didn’t know were them. I think I listened to this album 3 times over the weekend! So good

Rage Against The Machine by Rage Against The Machine
Feb 23 2021

A great protest, hard album. Every song means something, there are no bad takes and every member rules. Roche’s vocals rule and Tom morello is one of the coolest guitarists of all time. Amazing stuff

In It For The Money by Supergrass
Feb 24 2021

Very okay, I enjoyed some of the sounds and the feel of the album. Felt a little long but worth the listen

S&M by Metallica
Feb 25 2021

Love it. Love Metallica, love the orchestral pieces. Overall just an amazing album, love when they mix and match different styles of music like this

Odelay by Beck
Mar 02 2021

Beck rules, no idea how he does it but I look forward to every song as they come next. This album is so good and has so many hits on it, but even the non singles are great. Will listen to again

New Boots And Panties by Ian Dury
Mar 03 2021

Would not recommend to anyone, would only bring up in conversation to state how bad it is

Go Girl Crazy by The Dictators
Mar 04 2021

Not really sure what I just listened to, some of it sounded offputting but then the last song could’ve been a beach boys cover!! I don’t even know!!

Mar 11 2021

The smiths are timeless. I could listen to any of their albums any day of the week and feel all the same things I did the first time hearing them

Dirty by Sonic Youth
Mar 12 2021
Countdown To Ecstasy by Steely Dan
Mar 16 2021

Why was this album so fun? Steely Dan rules so hard

Autobahn by Kraftwerk
Mar 17 2021

Not good. I suppose for the times this would have been a hip, or cool album but I did not enjoy any of it

The Cars by The Cars
Mar 18 2021

This album is so good. No skips. Every song is so fun and iconic, this album is one of my favorites of all time

Happy Sad by Tim Buckley
Mar 26 2021

I couldn’t quite place it but this album sounded so familiar at times. It was just different enough to have its own personality and overall enjoyed it throughout. Saved gypsy woman as a favorite for future listens

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Mar 31 2021

I love the sound of John fogerty so it’s kind of unfair. This album rules
