ColdplayI know it, I love it. Automatic 5 for me.
I know it, I love it. Automatic 5 for me.
Man this is both raunchy AND dark. Good beats, but dang this is not good lyrics. Yeah kinda what I said already. I just don't like his lyrics. Which is unfortunate cuz the sound is good.
I love the cars, but it's one of those bands I never know it's them until someone points it out. It helps that I love the first song on the album. OOOOOO I know the 2nd one too. Yeah no doubt, I like this album a lot.
Listen, I already know I like Queen. I know I've heard this album a few times, but am not super familiar with any of the songs. I'm looking forward to the re-listen. Almost done with the album now, I'm so happy this was today's album. It's so easy to work to since I don't know the specific songs that well but love the band. Yup, I love Queen.
Almost done with the album. This was just a fun listen. It's a bit trippy but I like it. I'll rate either a 3 or 4.
"Right Here, Right Now" is good, I like the violins they incorporated. Hey I know "The Rockafeller Skank" "In Heaven" has a good beat, but not in love with the lyrics. "Ganster Trippin" has a good beat. Not much to the lyrics. I'm finding the album has good beats but no substance to the lyrics. "Build It Up, Tear It Down" is good to work to. "Kalifornia" is a bop. "Soul Surfing" hey, some lyrics! Sort of. "You're Not From Brighton" I was bopping but didn't listen cuz work. "Praise You" hey I know this one too! "Love Island" is the only one that doesn't really seem to fit with the rest. "Acid 8000" ok this one doesn't fit quite with the rest either but I like the techno. Overall I like the album. It doesn't have much in the way of lyrics but it's easy to work to.
"I Wanna Be Adored" started out like I was listening to Pink Floyd. "She Bangs the Drums" gives me Beach Boys vibes. Beach Boys might not be right but it's a band I know I've heard. "Waterfall" is really good, I like it. Probably a good concert song. The beginning of "Don't Stop" sounds like it would be from Aerosmith. "Bye Bye Bad Man" would have been good in Legion or HIMYM. "Elizabeth My Dear" who is this, Garfunkel and Oates? "(Song For My) Sugar Spun Sister" not much to say but I liked it. "Made of Stone" was reallllly good. I like this one. "Shoot You Down" Beach Boys vibes again? "This Is the One" it sounds familiar but I don't know where I would've heard it. OH! Previous songs reminded me of a cross between Beach Boys and The Cherries. That's what it was. "I Am the Resurrection" without listening to the lyrics closely enough, is this Christian themed? "Fools Gold" long, but good. I liked this album. It's not what I typically listen to but I liked it.
I've never really listened to Cyndi Lauper so let's give it a go. "Money Changes Everything" is good. It's a bit too '80s pop for me but I see the merit. "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" I though it might be this album based on the first song. Guilty pleasure song for me. "When You Were Mine" was ok, got interrupted a few times so I probably didn't get the full effect. "Time After Time" hold on, this is the same album/artist as "Girls Just Want to Have Fun"? Ok, Cyndi. I see you. "She Bop" I don't think I've heard it before but I like it. IDK what instrument it is (maybe xylophone?) but I like the inclusion of it. This is closer to what I like about '80s music. "All Through the Night" ew this sounds like a love ballad. Her voice also sounds a bit flat in this one. Random thought: I wonder what Navar thinks about Cyndi? "Witness" eh, it's ok. Pending the rest of the album, this might be the weakest one. I think it's trying to do both too much and not enough at the same time. "I'll Kiss You" better than "Witness" but not by much. "He's so Unusual" that was a little weird. Sounds like she was aiming for the '20s. I think it was really just an intro for the next one. "Yeah Yeah" sounds like too many different genres in one. The organ or whatever she used in it is taking me out of the song a bit. Otherwise it's ok. Overall it was good. Not my typical music but not unlistenable. It is a bit too '80s in the way I don't like.
OK just based on the album and artist name I'm not expecting this to be in English, so I'm preparing to keep that in mind while listening. I'm gonna keep notes a bit more succinct this time. I was right, it's not in English. I found out it's Icelandic. It's very artsy. A bit slow moving. It's not necessarily what I'm in the mood for but I definitely see the merit in it. By song four it almost sounds like a ballad of some sort. Am I crazy, or does this remind me of Switchfoot's less traditional rock songs? I very much enjoyed song eight. Song nine sounds like something I've heard before. IDK what exactly but it's bringing back something. Maybe it reminds me of Coldplay? Like, older Coldplay. Beginning of song ten made me think of Darude and Switchfoot in like .2 seconds of each other, in that order. This was a well crafted album. Not my typical style but I appreciate it for the art that it is.
Hold on, there's 43 songs?! Why are they all 2 minutes or less? 2 songs in: It's not necessarily my type of music but I can see why people like it. I don't really like the guy's voice. 9/10 songs in: Ok I know why I'm not really a fan, it sounds too much like both a live album and different subgenres for me to get into it. It also sounds like maybe a bit of unfinished work too since the songs are so short. 18 songs in: I'm still not enjoying it a whole lot. It's ok to have on during work I guess. 20 songs in: Hey, "The Glory of Man" is actually ok. 27 songs in: "The Politics of Time" I bopped my head to a bit. 28 songs in: I don't like this AT ALL. 38 songs in: I'm not having a good time. "Storm in My House" has good instrumentals, but the guy's voice is just not good. This album sounds like it was recorded in someone's basement studio. 40 songs in: WTF even is this song "Dr. Wu"? Are they trying to be a bad ripoff of Bob Dylan? 43 songs in: THANK GOD this is the last song and only 38 seconds long IF YOU DON'T GIVE THIS ALBUM A 1 OR 2 STAR RATING YOU'RE KIDDING YOURSELF.
This sounds like the type of music dad likes. It's not necessarily my thing, but it reminds me of him.
Another Queen album already? Let's GO. This album has some great songs. Of course Bohemian Rhapsody is the most well known, but they're all great.
I like it. This is the type of music I listen to a lot but I never really listen to Kravitz. I'm going to have to give him more of a listen. OOOO "Rosemary" is sort of a Christian song, that's interesting. "Empty Hands" without doing research, I can see this being about Jesus or MLK Jr.
It was alright. I'm not the biggest fan of Cee-Lo. It was nice to hear other music of his other than just the one I know. 2-3 stars probably.
Same with Sheryl as some others, not really listened to her. Let's give it a go. "Run, Baby, Run" odd start for an album to me. This seems more like a mid-album song. I can tell this is a 90s album. That's not necessarily a bad thing. Ahhhh I know "All I Wanna Do." Again, it was alright. Probably give a 3 star.
I don't know them, but based on the first few seconds of the first song I think I'm going to like them. This album is exactly what I needed this morning. It's the perfect mix of punk and grunge. I'm sad they only had like 2 studio albums now that I've looked them up a bit. I liked this one. I'll give it a 3 or 4.
Not really my style, but it was ok. I'm not really even sure what kind of music it was to be honest.
The Beastie Boys are always good. The only problem with them is a lot of their music sounds the same.
I liked the album. Kinda the same as The Beastie Boys where a lot of the songs sounded similar, but it was good.
Hey I know at least some of this music. I know it and I like it. The last song isn't available on Spotify so gotta find it somewhere else. Automatic 4 though since I know part of the album pretty well. Maybe give it a 5 once I hear the rest. Ok yeah I liked this a lot. Giving it a 5.
Isn't ABBA kind of a meme? I'll give it a listen. By song #4, meh it's ok. It sounds too '80's for my taste. Which makes sense, since this came out in 1980. After finishing, I didn't much care for it. It was crafted well, though, so I'll give it a 2.
Well, this sure is Jazz lol. Idk why but this just sounds chaotic to me. I know that's part of what Jazz is, but holy cow. Didn't listen to the whole thing cuz it's hard for me to find, but it was good. Hard to work to though.
Good album, more of my jam. I didn't know any of the songs from this album but I like Ozzy's voice/style so I give it a 4.
YOOOOOOO I already know the first song and love it. This is gonna be a good album. I know song #4 too?! Love it. #5 is the same album, too?! Bet. Love this music, automatic 5 for me. Don't even have to finish the album to know that.
I've not listened to Janet that much. It sounded a bit like Michael, but she added her own flair. Good album and good sound. Not quite my cup of tea but I could listen to it occasionally.
I love the cars, but it's one of those bands I never know it's them until someone points it out. It helps that I love the first song on the album. OOOOOO I know the 2nd one too. Yeah no doubt, I like this album a lot.
I can vibe with this. I didn't get to listen to the lyrics a whole lot cuz of work, but the instrumentals were nice. I give it a 4.
Almost done with the album. This was just a fun listen. It's a bit trippy but I like it. I'll rate either a 3 or 4.
I KNOW THE FIRST SONG WHAT. Ok now that I've heard the whole album, it was fun to listed to. I didn't like all the messages the songs were putting out, but the sound is good. Rating it a 3 since there was some things to not like.
Heyyyyyy Hallelujah! Eternal life sounds familiar in the intro, but the rest doesn't. It sounded like something from Foo Fighters. Overall a good album. Giving it a 4.
This is giving me a little bit of Garfunkel & Oates vibes. I liked it. Giving a 4.
Ooooooo I like the intro for the first song. Second song has some alien vocals lol. Ya know what, it's a good beat though. This album kinda sounds like the first or second one after a garage band period. In this case, it's a good thing. I'm digging it. Yeah, I liked this a lot. I'm gonna give it a 4 only because I think it could've been mixed just a little bit better.
First song: hmm giving me slight Beastie Boys vibes. Ok I looked it up cuz I was curious. Beastie Boys released their first album in 1986 and Jungle Brothers in 1988. So I won't say they necessarily ripped off, but it does seem like a pretty suspicious coincidence. Heyyyy I know part of (very little but a little bit) of the third song. Yeah this was good. Officially giving it a 3 cuz it sounded too much like Beastie Boys, but if it was an option I'd give it a 3.5.
I can't tell you how many times I've listened to this album, it's a masterpiece. Automatic 5.
I wrote something out for this yesterday when I listened, but I apparently didn't save it. Anyways, I liked it.
Song 5, finally the first one I know. I thought I'd know more so far since it's Outkast. First disk was ok, nothing super special I didn't think. Second disk is definitely more artistic so far, on song 5 of it. Still don't really love it, but it's better imo. Ugh, I just can't with these lyrics. They're so...... raunchy. At least for my taste. Song 9 on disc 2.... finally another one I know. Ah, I know song 10 too. Overall, meh it was ok.
Well the beginning of the first song started a bit suddenly. Ohhhh it's the blues, that makes sense. It's good so far, I'd probably rate a 3 based on what I've heard so far. Wait, this came out in 1968? The recording quality sounds really good for the 60s. I'm considering rating a 4 just because of the sound quality. Album ended as suddenly as it began. I enjoyed the quality. The style wasn't my thing, but I appreciate it for what it is.
What a beginning to an album. A little weird turned into almost grunge. Reminds me a bit of Nirvana, but not completely. I think I would have loved this album had I heard it in middle or high school. MAYBE even college. Just about done with the album now. It was good but nothing super special. Kind of run of the mill soft-ish rock album from the 90s. Rating a 3.
I don't think I've heard this full album, but I know I'll like it at least moderately well since it's Paul Simon. I know the tune for song 6! Giving it a 4, cuz it's Paul Simon and because of the last track is a story of it.
I know it, I love it. Automatic 5 for me.
I like Bob Marley, although I've not heard much of his stuff. 2 songs in and I'm liking it alright, although it does all sound about what I expected so far based on what little I've heard of his before. Overall I liked it. I think most of the songs sounded similar. That's not necessarily a bad thing. Giving this a 3 overall cuz I think it lacked a bit of variety I was wanting.
Man this is both raunchy AND dark. Good beats, but dang this is not good lyrics. Yeah kinda what I said already. I just don't like his lyrics. Which is unfortunate cuz the sound is good.
Hoo boy, I'm not the biggest fan of live albums but I'll listen cuz it's on the list. Actually ya know what, this is good so far. I'm into it. This is just the first song. This was a fun album and it perked me up while listening since I've been stressed today. That deserves a 5.
Well I've not really ever listened to Sufjan, but I like this so far and I'm only on song 3. As long as the rest of the album holds up, I can see giving this a 4 or 5. Ok I was told this might get depressing, yeah I can see it in song 10. I like the sounds a lot. Yes. A 5.
Sound was good, even if I don't (unfortunately) speak the language.
I'm 4 songs in now, and I'm not really enjoying it. Honestly it makes me a little uncomfortable, like he's trying to hit on me and I've told him no 5 times already. I'll listen to the rest but I'm probably gonna give it a 2 cuz I don't like it. I would give it a 1, but the recording is well done.
I love Aerosmith. I don't recall if I've listened to this entire album, but I'm looking forward to it. I at least know a few of the songs. Yeah, good album. Both recognizable songs and some I haven't heard. Giving a 4 cuz I didn't like some of the lyrics.
I know I listened to this, and I thought I rated it, but I guess not. I like it, thought it was something that dad would listen to.
Good start to the album! Really what I needed for work today. Ok maybe I just really need this album/type of music today, but I'm really enjoying it. Probably going to rate a 4. On the last song now, yeah I really enjoyed this album. It's not quite a 5 cuz of some of the vocal recordings (could just be part of the style) so I'm giving it a 4.
Yeah, this was alright. I like the style but I didn't think it was anything really special.
This is a good one to bring up the mood from work too. The recording quality doesn't seem quite as good as Ash - 1977, but it is also two decades older. Probably still going to give this a 4.
Another one that I listened to and wrote something about, but I don't remember what. I know I liked the album enough to give it a 4, mostly for the sound.
It was alright, not super special though. Sounded a bit like Coldplay.
