Popular Reviews

Melody A.M. by Röyksopp

This was a pleasant surprise. Awesome downtempo dance music with some very unique sounds. Will definitely go back to it for background music.

Is This It by The Strokes

This was a great album to get. I remember listening to it a lot when it came out and basically wrote them off in the last few years. I'm glad this came up so I could revisit.

The Atomic Mr Basie by Count Basie & His Orchestra
May 09 2021

A pleasant surprise. It was jarring when I pressed play before bed but as I listened it became a great background for all sorts of activities throughout the day..

Music Has The Right To Children by Boards of Canada
May 10 2021

This has been one of my favorite albums for a long time and it was good to see it come up.

Melody A.M. by Röyksopp
May 11 2021

This was a pleasant surprise. Awesome downtempo dance music with some very unique sounds. Will definitely go back to it for background music.

The Holy Bible by Manic Street Preachers
May 12 2021

This record was not for me. It wasn't any of the things I like in early nineties guitar music (shoegaze, jangle pop, whatever genre the stone roses are) and everything I don't like.

Eagles by Eagles
May 13 2021

This was an unexpected surprise. I knew a bunch of these songs already and some are classic rock classics but the ones I didn't we're fun country rock jams. That being said I realize I'm not a fan of Don Henley and the songs he helms I tended to skip.

1989 by Taylor Swift
May 14 2021

This was an unexpected selection. I listened to most of it and I can appreciate what makes it good and why she's a star but aesthetically it's not for me

That's The Way Of The World by Earth, Wind & Fire
May 16 2021

This was a good Album but nothing unexpected or revolutionary. It was very funky but in a commercial way. I wanted more grit.

Fragile by Yes
May 18 2021

This was quite a journey. If this is the definition of prog rock then I think prog rock is very silly while playing off as very sincere. I see how this informs a lot of music I do like that comes later but this record goes in a lot of directions, not all of which are good.

A Short Album About Love by The Divine Comedy
May 19 2021

This was a great album to have come up. I know this band from their first best of and this was a great excuse to dive into more of their full albums. I already liked the songs on here that I know but really fell for a few I didn't (specifically "Someone").

Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand
May 23 2021

I was pretty familiar with this record. It's got some good tracks but the commercial ones stand out the most to me unfortunately

May 25 2021

This wasn't my thing. A few songs I could get into but that early 90s commercial R&B vibe isn't for me.

Homework by Daft Punk
May 27 2021

This was fun to revisit. Around the World is the big hit but I've heard it so many times that it was the one song I skipped. It's a long record but great to jam on in the background while you work. Homework is an appropriate title in that way.
