Buenas Noches From A Lonely Room
Dwight YoakamLove me some Yoakam...Streets of Bakersfield always makes me smile
Love me some Yoakam...Streets of Bakersfield always makes me smile
Always loved this album...gritty new orleans feel...Torn and Frayed + Loving Cup are absolutely solid
Seed 2.0 is always solid...love this album cover...the lyrics are powerful, but the beats make me long for the times when more rap sounded this way - powerful lyrics + a unique beat
It's like listening to an alt punk version of the Beatles...quick songs that hit and then move you on to the next...my wife love Velouria and its quickly become one of my favs on this album as well
I remember the first time listening to this album. I just purchased it in a stack of old records from a flea market in Tuscaloosa, AL. The fella I meet was a DJ in NY back in the 70s, and gave me the vast majority of Pink Floyd, Beatles, Led Zep, and Rolling Stones vinyls I have today. Going home to clean the albums, I selected this as the first to play as I had never heard it before even at the age of 26. I remember being floored by how modern it sounded and some of the bass lines in the background. Was a huge musical awakening for me.
I hate to say this is my first time listening to this album cover to cover. Of course like ever other Bowie album I've listened to, its terrific.
I love this stage of Beck's progression. Looking back through his discography, I fee like I notice more and more of the sounds developing that you hear in Guero. This is one of his sadder feeling albums to me, little slow for a Monday morning.
This album renewed my faith in rap music and made me start exploring true artists instead of pop rap.
Radio Free Europe sets the bar high for the rest of the album...Catapult brought my attention back to the album after things slowed down a bit
Just solid from cover to cover...generation altering lyrics + great, pulsating, engaging musical accompaniment
Being recommended this album is one of the reasons I'm already a fan of 1001albumsgenerator...love how this album switched up my day
Way better sound than some of the other recent recs...love this type of punk sound as a switch-up to what I'm used to
First time ever listening this album but genuinely impressed...really cool punk sound and very smart lyrics to match...pretty surprised how much I ended up enjoying this album
totally wasn't expecting this...solid album with a really cool sound
Had no clue what to expect - loved the jazzy vibe of this album
Already sounds meh to me, hope it gets better...jesus its fine when he is rapping , but it is hard to listen to when he tries to actually sing...maybe the lyrics are smart but I literally can't listen to this album...garbage
Seriously miss the grudge sound...solid album from a time when I was just discovering "my own" music as opposed to just what my parents had on the radio
It was solid, just not my fav Talking Heads album
Of the experimental sounds of the 60s, this one didn't grab me at the same level
It's soulful and all, but not my thing
Peaceful easy feeling always makes me feel good an want to sing, even if my voice sucks...Eagles are always a welcome addition on the playlist
this was the album that made me like the flaming lips...starts out so beautiful with fight test
Tribe is one of the shining examples of what rap can be...love this album
Its not that it isn't good - just not the biggest fan of progressive rock...I appreciate the album though
Its lofi which is cool but really blended into the background for me at the beginning
Yeah its powerful for sure...with that said, I have to separate the artist from the art...with that said as well, at least its better than a lot of the generic rap out there...maybe given time I'll appreciate the message more.
Incredible concept album...this is my second listen and I completely appreciate more this time around
ELO is a solid band to get me in a happier mood or feeling more energized...I might not have a clue what they are talking about half the time, but the vibe is solid
It's not bad, but I prefer his work with the Wailers...meh - strong lyrics with a repetitive sound
Irish punk...who knew it could be cool
My biggest takeaway from the album was learning more about Linda McCartney and how The Band formed in the wake of the Beatles ending. Band on the Run and Jet are entertaining songs, but the album as a whole isn't that exciting for me.
I can appreciate it but doesn't have a high replay value for me
Actually dig it - pretty relaxing
We'll see, but so far might not be my thing...its fine for the background
Clearly he is a strong singer songwriter
Love me some Yoakam...Streets of Bakersfield always makes me smile
I mean Pets Sounds is one of the greatest albums of time...did as much or more to change music than the Beatles accomplished at the same time
Love how this album opens - one of my favorite talking heads albums
I can understand why this is influential, but I think I'm all set
Solid album with plenty of bangers
There is nothing wrong with Wilco - just it blends into the background on certain songs for me
its a cool yet very different sound for sure
Love listening to Sonic Youth when I just need some noise to throw around my energy...solid album
Like so many albums from this time, you can feel the beginnings of psychedelic music
Its a cool sound for sure...good for the background
solid punk album
Dug the sound
Come on, it's thriller baby
cool vibe - like it for background music
Just a solid album and loved all the music videos back in the day
Definitely liked this way more than a lot of dance music I hear
it was fine, just that yacht rock sound to me
solid album
Revolver is where they made the turn to hitting a next level stride, but Rubber Soul is still my favorite album of their early period
really really cool listen
Its good but a little too moody for my taste
A Trent Reznor produced album can't be ignored, but MM goes get old for me on a cover to cover listen
REM always satisfies just not always my go to
interesting listen but just okay for me
this is really really cool - never heard anything like it
surprised how much I enjoyed this
I love how unique and jittery their sound it
Its okay but not my fav
It was cool and I do love ATL rappers, but this didn't make me a CeeLo follower - it was average
While this is not where I gravitate to, I do love the vibe and the lead singers voice
very cool sound...surprised I haven't listened to more Tom Waits in my time
