Genuinely surprised at how much I enjoyed this one - probably not an album I’d revisit in full very often but there was quite a few great standout tracks. This one left a great impression considering country is not a genre I’ve ever really been a fan of with a handful of exceptions.
Kinda wondering if half the reason I like this is purely down to nostalgia? Most of this album holds up really well & I still really enjoy the majority of it - some songs, I’ve got to admit, do make me really uncomfortable to listen to now. But the album is DEFINITELY a product of it’s time. Oh, and I could really do without the Ken Kaniff skit…. Favourite tracks - I’m Back, Bitch Please 2, Drug Ballad
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Pink Floyd. But, my god, is this album bad. Cringeworthy showtunes, the same riff from Another Brick in the Wall repeated for over an hour. There’s a handful of really great songs & the album starts really strong. But then it spoils itself. It’s such a great concept & if I was just hearing the songs as a live theatre show, it would be incredible. But it doesn’t hold up as an album in it’s own right. I want to like this album so badly but I can’t even force myself.
I expected to like this but was bored to death by the end of it.
I thought the reviews calling it hold music were just being harsh. I was wrong. Each song would be great if they were like 30 seconds long. Not really the sort of music I’d listen to anyway, but especially not when it’s this boring.
Some strong tracks. Some less so.
I hated this so much that I have nothing to say about it.
Great, catchy, fun songs. But I don’t think I could see myself ever sitting down & going to listen to it
One of my favourite albums of all time, the soundtrack to my adolescence. What’s even better, this was generated for me the day after the Queen died.
Enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. I always thought Haircut 100 were a bit silly from the songs I knew, but this album was great. Really enjoyed the instrumentals.
I just really hate this album. The only thing stopping this from being a 1 star album is You Oughta Know
Oh man, I love the Kinks. Not their best album but has some fab songs & ends with my number one favourite song of all time. So can’t have too many complaints.
I’m so torn between a 4 or a 5 for this one. I absolutely love it. It’s heavy, it’s psychedelic, it’s eerie. But just about every song is so great. A really overlooked album.
I love this album SO MUCH. I’m so between a 4 and 5 but I feel I can’t give it a 5 because it isn’t electric warrior? 4.5 for this one
Talented guy but…it’s…just…piano??
This is gorgeous - every second of it
Yeah this is just really bad
Probably give this a 4.5. Couple of sillier tracks that I’m not too fussed about but overall it is great with a handful of really strong songs
Pretty cool sound for the time but a bit repetitive. Also would have been nice to see some more original music
