I feel I'd have to give it a few more listens to see if I'd grow to like most of the songs more than I did. None of them was bad by any means, but after such a great start at the beginning of the record, I'm afraid the rest of the album didn't quite keep me as engaged.
I thoroughly liked the first two tracks – How Can You Mend A Broken Heart and Israel. I also enjoyed Walking Back To Waterloo at the end of the album.
Easy to bop your head to. Upon first listening, I found some of the lyrics a bit tiresome, but as I've re-listened some of the songs, I don't mind them as much anymore. In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida is obviously the track that stands out the most, as it is about the length of the rest of the album.
I was tempted to give this album a four, but I don't think it left me with a strong enough impression. Perhaps it will grow on me later on.

The Policen kuuntelu on jäänyt aiemmin lähinnä radiotasolle, mutta sen ansiosta pari kappaletta tälläkin levyllä oli ennestään hyvin tuttuja. Yllätyin kuitenkin positiivisesti itselleni uusista kappaleista, jotka menevät omalla mittarillani helposti ohi ainakin Every Breath You Taken, jota on saanut aiemmin kuulla kyllästymiseen asti. Arvosanaksi mietin heti nelosta tai vitosta, mutta taidan kallistua jälkimmäiseen, koska levystä on vaikea keksiä mitään huonoa sanottavaa.
Suosikkikappaleet: Synchronicity I, O My God, Synchronicity II, Murder By Numbers
Tästä oli tosi helppo tykätä.
Soittolistalle päätyivät ainakin Bailed Out, Junk Shop Clothes, Starstruck, How Could I Be Wrong ja Housebreaker.
Ihan kuunneltava, mutta ei herättänyt sen suurempia tunteita.
Ihan kelpo albumi. Imagine oli näistä kappaleista tietysti tutuin, mutta suosikiksi tältä levyltä jäi Jealous Guy. Myös Oh My Love ja How? miellyttivät. Muut kappaleet jättivät hieman kylmäksi, joten kolmonen lienee sopiva arvosana.
Ensimmäinen kerta, kun kuuntelin albumin kokonaan alusta loppuun. Levyn alkupuoli ei jostain syystä oikein innostanut, vaikka sieltä löytyi kaksi aiemmin tuttua kappaletta – Girls & Boys sekä Parklife. Sen sijaan kuuntelu muuttui mieluisammaksi suunnilleen albumin puolivälin kohdilla. Suosikeiksi muodostuivat To the End, London Loves ja Clover Over Dover, mutta muut kappaleet eivät oikein tällä kertaa sytyttäneet.
Ihan miellyttävä. Tykkäsin kovasti laulajan äänestä.

Compared to other bands of their genre and era, Franz Ferdinand has a recognizable sound, which is a good thing, but at the same time, something about it is frankly more than a bit annoying to me.
Their tracks seem to work best for me when listened to singularly and relatively infrequently.
The Dark Of The Matinée, This Fire, and 40' might be my favourite songs on the album.

The first track – Birdland – was so good that none of the other tunes on the album quite reached that level. Nevertheless, the album was still a rather pleasant listen.
Although I've always meant to listen to the Pixies, I've never really done it intentionally before. Going into this album, the only song I was familiar with was Where Is My Mind?, which I like. It didn't turn out to be what I expected, and therefore, I must admit I was a little disappointed. Maybe it will grow on me, but for now, I don't entirely get the hype.
There were bits in this that I liked a lot, but in my opinion, most of the instrumentation on the album feels really dated. It has that '80-'90s pop vibe that I'm not all that fond of, and that bothered me more than I would have hoped. However, the songs that were a bit more stripped-down were great. A good example of such a song is Leather, which I thought was brilliant. I would have loved to give this a higher rating, but in all honesty, I found that the negatives outweighed the positives quite strongly on this.
Tavallaan tykkäsin tästä joissakin kohdissa tosi paljon, mutta jos vertaan tätä joihinkin muihin levyihin tässä haasteessa, joille oon antanut korkeita arvosanoja, niin ehkä tämä ei yllä ihan siihen. Voi olla, että se on enimmäkseen genrestä kiinni.

Vaikka kuuntelin tämän lähinnä taustamusiikkina, enkä niinkään ajatuksella, niin nautin tästä silti. Luultavasti palaan tähän vielä myöhemmin vähän lyhyemmissä pätkissä, koska kokonaisen albumin kuunteleminen oli aika työn takana.
