Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Jan 13 2023

I've often heard that this was Fleetwood Mac's Holy Grail. After the release of "Fleetwood Mac" and "Rumours" both wildly successful albums, Fleetwood Mac wanted to prove to the world that they weren't just another Top 40 pop band. America was going punk and they didn't want to get lost in the shift. So, they do what anyone would do...they spend 5 Million dollars recording an album that they thought would change the world. Only to sell fewer copies than any of their previous work. Now don't get me wrong, the album is beautiful, it's perfect, it's everything I didn't know I needed, and is now regarded as one of the most important albums of all time. I guess in 1979 it just wasn't on the same wavelength as the rest of the world. Just like with the Beastie Boys "Paul’s Boutique", our hindsight is always 20/20.
