The Clash by The Clash
Jan 13 2023

Filling a gap in my knowledge, as I've only listened to London Calling in full. Looks like this one came before, and it reflects in the sound. Feels like a more straightforward punk album overall, less melodic and hooky than what I know. Liked the album overall, but a lot of the songs seem to run together. White Riot caught me off guard, sounds like something right wingers would misinterpret the lyrics to and use for their rallies.

Bad by Michael Jackson
Jan 16 2023

First time listening to a MJ album in full. This one is stacked with radio hits, so familiar with half the album that way. Of the rest Speed Demon and Just Good Friends were not my favorites, but everything else was great. Another Part of Me was the big surprise, like this track a lot, and shocking it has lower listen counts compared to the rest. Forgot how good and weird Dirty Diana was, especially within the album.

Suede by Suede
Jan 17 2023

One I did not know at all going in. Was pleasantly surprised.

Jan 18 2023

Electronica is not my forte. I liked what I heard, but at the same time, nothing really stuck out to me. Would be great for background music though. That being said, not something I would actively seek out.

In A Silent Way by Miles Davis
Jan 20 2023

Not what I expceted from my limited knowledge of Davis' work. Only 2 lengthy songs. Chill and ethereal, was a solid listen, but also didn't have much that really grabbed me.

25 by Adele
Jan 23 2023

Haven't listened to this album in full, just the hits. Solid pop album with a lot of heartfelt songs. Fantastic vocal work as always. Focus here seems to be more on the sadder mood instead of the catchier pop tunes of the first album.

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Jan 24 2023

Solid album overall. Knew some of the singles but not the entirety. Didn't realize Stevie wasn't always the main vocalist, seems like the hits all feature her up front. A bit long overall, but not bad.

Atomizer by Big Black
Mar 01 2023

Great takes on the genre. Equal parts catchy and caustic, with great lyrics and a sense of purpose.

Seventeen Seconds by The Cure
Mar 20 2023

Short and sweet. Solid songs and a distinct sound created on this album.
