Joan Baez
Joan BaezI feel bad but I really struggled to get through this one. It's a voice of its time, but the high falsetto and vibrato in her voice really starts to become grating quick cultural significance be damned. I didn't like it!

If I had a boner in the 80s, I might have been into this. Never liked Guns N Roses. Still don't! 2/5.
Elevator music
It was OK. Id go back, see if i like it more. A bit dull at times but nice overall.
More elevator music
Why?
Groovy
Now look, it's James Taylor. He's great! A classic! He's also very much "your dad's music." There's also something about this era of music that eagerly pushed for unearned Blues songs that sound great musically, but still seem flat. I can almost see the drunk middle-aged housewives poorly dancing in front of me while clapping their hands over their heads out of rhythm and shouting "woo!" throughout the whole song while I listen to these two out-of-place tracks on the album. This may be an overly harsh and undeserved criticism towards Mr. Taylor's musically capable talents, along with other artists from the same period who are guilty of the same crime, but it's hard not to recognize it for its oddly specific and nuanced framework when it has been imposed upon your formative days without consent. Overall, it's a solid production throughout, but starts to blend too seemlessly into each lull before a jarring tonal shift reminds you that there have been different songs playing this whole time. However, when Taylor hits, he knocks it out of the park. "Fire and Rain" is an undeniable classic that deserves a listen any time it comes on. 3/5
Musically, it's great! Vocally, I'd rather listen to Eddie Vedder sing KPop. Nick Drake sounds like a balloon animal that's lost its will to live. It's like wheezing for help after getting the wind knocked out of you.
Easy listenin'
Dated. Bling era hip hop has aged poorly. Girls is a stupid song. Nas is king.
Whoever mixed this album forgot about my left ear. Still a pretty good album. Silly, even. Sad that the bonus tracks are unavailable on Spotify, but it still ends on PussyFarts. 3.5/5. Wish we could give half ratings on this app.
I can't believe these bozos ripped off Greta Van Fleet!
Alright, fine. That was pretty fucking good for a cell phone commercial.

Another snooze.
You can tell these two brothers really love each other and get along great by how good the music is!
Not her best.
I get it. They're Irish. I wanted to like this one, but it was about 30 minutes too long. 3 feels too high. 2 feels low, but they don't let you give half scores.
BRUUUUUUCE
Well, the first song was good. Then I struggled to get through the rest until I just had to start skipping songs. What a snooze.
I don't care what anyone else tells me, I can't stand the Arctic Monkeys and I think they suck.
I don't know what just happened but i dig it
Holy Marbles that was awful. Thank Heaven on High for that only being 45 minutes long because I don't think I could take a minute longer of that.
Sentimental bias but I adore this album front to back. Bummer about Alice, though. RIP.
Meh
I'm confused why this is on the list. It's definitely a soundtrack. A soundtrack to a movie I'm now curious to see, which is good! It wasn't BAD, but it just really lacked any significant impact without the context of the film. I guess I'm trying to say that it sounds like it is meant to be a soundtrack to a movie and less so an album to be enjoyed on its own. I didn't not like it, but this did almost nothing for me. Giving it a 3 feels too generous, while giving it a 2 feels unfairly harsh. I'm at a bit if a loss on how to rate this one, but I've been much more critical of albums that stand on their own as just an album so, I guess 2 it is. I'm not proud of this one.
I've known of Adele since she first became popular. I didn't mind her music, but it wasn't particularly something I felt inclined to actively look into beyond just the hits and the memes. In fact, "Someone Like You" is the first song I learned on the ukulele. Her music was just something I'd hear passively before carrying on with my life. All of that is to say that I have been sleeping on Ms. Adkins for far too long! It's not the kind of music that I'll find myself putting on all that often, but this album was fantastic! A bit of a downer thematically, which may be a turn off to some, but musically, the production and vocals are phenomenal. If you really want to feel sad, this is certainly a mandatory listen. It's only real fault is that it's a concept album centered around wanting to be forgiven by your partner or ex-partner, which limits its appeal. However, it is necessary for this album to convey itself emotionally rather than just being a collection of songs. It's great. I get it now. It's absolutely brilliant. 4/5
I remember buying this CD at 12 years old when it first came out. I didn't "get" it then. I get it now, though. STRONG 4/5.
It's a great live album. Cooke sounds spectacular and, taking into consideration just exactly when this was recorded, it's a true testament of how polished Cooke was as a performer. However, a lot of it sounds the same. At one point I found myself looking at the track list because I had thought I was listening to the same song for almost 15 minutes. Regardless, front to back, this is a great album to put on and let play in any background setting. There's nothing to overtly dislike here. Taken from us far too soon, The King of Soul still demands a good listen to. 3.5/5
I've known of this album for a long time, but never got around to listening to it. It's definitely fine. Good even. However, after years of hearing people swear by this album, I can confidently say that it is insanely overrated. 3/5
It was definitely French!
Fun. I didn't enjoy it as much as Paul Rudd does but it's good.
It's not quirky. It's not fun. The vocals are grating. It's like listening to ADHD. I hate it.
Somebody get Chef out of the kitchen! He's cooking too hard!
I liked it. Then i got bored. Then i liked it. Then i recognized the last song. 3/5.
Low 3. Average at best.
It was like listening to the same song for 50 minutes. Sorry, guys. 2
I was in 7th grade when this came out. Prime demographic. I didn't like it then and I still don't like it now. Old Green Day is still the best Green Day.
Harmonica overload! It's great! It just suffers from starting to sound like one big song after a while because each track is pretty similar. Individually, every song was really easy to enjoy, though. 4/5
If I had a boner in the 80s, I might have been into this. Never liked Guns N Roses. Still don't! 2/5.
It's good. 4/5
It's MLB's greatest hits, folks!
Sad that this wasn't fully available on spotify. Had to use YouTube and it forced ad's on me. Album isn't for me, but it's not bad.
Diner rock kinda sticks ngl.
Costello slaps.
I liked this a lot more than the last Radiohead album on this list. Radiohead is still something you have to be in the mood for, but this album makes more of an effort to put you in that mood. There, There is a fantastic song.
A few songs were really fantastic but to much of them sounded like some Renaissance fair shit.
Would never think to listen to this, but it was actually pretty nice. I'm also fluent in Spanish now. Crazy!
Little dated but still solid fun
What genre was this even supposed to be? I hated it.
Really gotta be in the mood for Radiohead, but otherwise it's solid.
Awful. Why do people like this?
After the album finished a Fugazi song came on and that one song was better than this whole album. That isn't to say Fugazi is bad, but rather how this album sucks.
