Music isn’t complicated. If it’s unlistenable, even if that was part of your intention when creating it, it’s bad music.

Uninteresting and missing the endless opportunities that can be explored through music. Even if lyrics and meaning alone could carry a song, none of it is particularly engaging.

If you like Kelela’s vocals and uninteresting backing beats then you’ll love the album because that’s all you get in every song.

One of the greatest examples of how music can be used to express raw emotions.

Incredible that an album that explored so many genres and styles had no weak links.

There are some interesting moments but the poor overall performances don’t help with the already pretty average songwriting

Idk maybe it’s just me but I feel like if you’ve made 17 albums you should be a bit better at this whole music thing.

Tone deaf singing. Instrumentals sound like they were written for children’s music. Amateur song writing

Truly astounding that a lower rated album in Stevie Wonder’s catalogue can totally eclipse most other artists’ best albums.

Amazing songwriting. With some talented musicians and more fleshed out arrangements most of these songs could be really good.
