Blood, Sweat & Tears
Blood, Sweat & TearsLot of fun on this album. I'm surprised the genre only says rock because the content feels very prog to me. Definitely will re-listen to this album later.

Album 1 of 1001 After the Gold Rush, Neil Young Favorite Song: Southern Man Great songwriting. I love the musicianship as well with well placed crescendos to emphasize parts. Folk isn't really my thing but there are moments to appreciate.
Album 2 of 1001 Favorite song(s): In the End This album is designed for a specific type of person and I'm surprised with how many people hate it that it still went 12x Platinum. I was 7 when this album came out and wasn't for me at the time. But as I have grown older and appreciated metal more over time I can see why it was popular but I probably won't go back to it save for the occasional meme that uses "Crawling" or "In the End". There are songs to appreciate but...in the end...there is other metal I would rather listen to.
Album 3 of 1001 Favorite song(s): In My Life, Danny Boy Johnny Cash is a legend in the music industry. Nothing like just a man and a guitar. There is some production in this album with organ and other various instruments as well as it mainly being covers but the way that he sings gives them such a heartfelt texture. Overall I liked the album, definitely something to revisit maybe 30 years from now.
Favorite Song(s): I'm a Man, Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is? Overall a really strong debut album for the Chicago Transit Authority. Lot of bops that I would put on my playlists, and a couple songs I can forget but not every song in an album can be a banger. I could be a bit biased though as a trombone player as I love hearing horns in general.
Favorite Song(s): Hey Girl, Don't Let Him Take Your Love From Me I'm not really sure what to make of this album. On its own its fine enough but reading about the context it seems like it would be a big change for them I'm taking this album on its own merits in 2023 and not 1969. "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" is ok, I sort of prefer the Marvin Gaye version than the instrumentation here. "Runaway Child, Running Wild" is a 9 1/2 long song I would guess would be the big centerpiece but it doesn't really blow me away. Just hearing a crying child halfway through the song while the band is jamming away is kind of jarring. Basically just a whole album of love songs which is fine but it's whatever.
Pretty boring overall on first listen. I like jazz and all that but I didn't vibe with this one.
Great energy, very fun. Never Mind the Bollocks, this has been my favorite album so far.
It's frank Sinatra. Swing with a capital S.
Easy 5 of 5. 10 of 10. Already listened to this album many times before and still has bangers and great ambiance-esque music. Personal faves is Everything in its right place, the national anthem, and motion picture soundtrack.

Pretty boring. It has been nice to have on in the background while I have been studying, but overall not very exciting or interesting.
Don't listen to a lot of Springsteen but from what I heard here, great powerful voice. I like the arraignment of the music. But there was something that didn't really grab me in this album. I'd probably give it a strong 7 to a light 8.
Great album. When I took a history of rock class in college I wrote a paper about this and how it was made with it's technical innovations as well as just solid musicianship from Stevie. One of the music GOATs and 10/10 for me.
I don't listen to too much hip hop and this probably wasn't the best starting point to understanding it. There were some good beats and some funny moments. Also has its serious moments as well but I'm not that into it unfortunately.
The Beatles are starting to figure out their own writing and while a good album, I know what comes later and prefer it more musically. But there are some fun moments in this album.
I think with more time than a day I can be more into this album, but rap still seems not for me just yet. It hasn't clicked yet or maybe I haven't found the right group. I can see the history and why it was popular but it sounds like most other rap albums I have heard.
Really mid, and kinda boring. The second I saw the track called "Raped and Freezin" I knew this album wouldn't be for me.
Bittersweet Symphony is always a bop, but the rest of the album I was quite surprised. Kinda taking a page out of the Oasis book but also gave me some Radiohead vibes even though OK Comp released the same year as this album. If I ever feel like vibing I might go to this.
This album is for somebody, but this ain't for me.
I really don't know with this one. One moment it feels classic punk, but then Patti sounds like a female Thom Yorke and some weird stuff is happening. I love Radiohead and all, but they way she uses her voice here doesn't click with me as well as Radiohead does. This is like strong 5/light 6 but if I had some more listens I think the rating would change.
Geno is the standout song here. The rest of the album sounds pretty much the same with some fun instrumentals and really hard to understand lyrics on first listen. More like a 3.5.
4.2 I'm sure with more time on this album I would really come to enjoy it fully as it's up my musical alley.
