Pretty good vibes for music made by a band half comprised of pedophiles, heroin really is a miracle drug. Researching and it turns out Jagger and Wyman were minimally involved in this album, so maybe that's why it's good.
I'm sure this album was very important but it just kinda feels a bit rudimentary compared to the music it's inspired I guess. Plenty listenable still, just feel like there wasn't a song that was super memorable for me here
Pretty good, not really my thing but still fairly enjoyable. Son of a preacher man and windmills of your mind definitely stand out more than the other songs to me. A lot of this album feels like music that might be used in a romcom but windmills of your mind has sort of a bond film sound that is pretty cool.
Even though Flava Flav isn't really a rapper and Chuck D is really the driving force of public enemy it's so great that Chuck was able to convince the label to keep Flava Flav on, he just brings a ton of personality. Real friend. It's almost a shame that mainstream news fearmongering of an artist isn't so common anymore because it makes for some incredible samples here
I've never been all that much of a fan of eminim, but he undeniably put out some very good records, this being one of them. Some of the tracks definitely haven't aged great content wise, but they mostly all sound pretty good with the Dr dre + bass brothers production. Skits are a little half baked
Sounds like it would be in the matrix soundtrack, which isn't really a bad thing so much but not really what I like. Songs ended up feeling pretty repetitive and there wasn't a whole ton distinguishing them imo
It's pretty incredible how this mopey loser keeps finding things to whine about in his songs, you think he'd have run out of things after a point. It ends up being kinda cathartic though. It's like you end up wishing you could be this openly miserable and have people praise you for it like he does. Songs are pretty good imo although nothing as iconic as Kyle Kuzma bus
Goes so hard. Really incredible density of iconic tracks on this album, just wall to wall bangers. Zack de la Rocha brings so much energy on everything and all the songs are distinct from each other while keeping the same vibe. The only bad thing this album did was inspire a bunch of bands to think that they could make this shit too.
I was somewhat familiar with the sonic youth (mostly from Ed Templeton's 'Welcome to Hell' part) but had never listened to an album in full before. This one is really really good. Super noisy and eclectic, and I think it's aged very well. I am a bit of a post punk sucker so it feels right up my alley. Also Providence Rhode Island mentioned
Tim Buckley was getting around I'll tell you what
Album is pretty good, fairly groovy, funky, and absolutely horny. Couldn't even begin to imagine what the monkey rub is.
I mean it's Elton John he just undeniably had the juice
Entirely inoffensive but completely forgettable for me. Nothing really felt special here, doubt I will revisit this one.
It's just not for me. Couldn't get through the back half of all the live tracks but it didn't feel like I was missing anything. The album art is pretty rad though.
It's sort of like if Rush was not really exciting and had less personality. It's probably more generally agreeable but much less special imo.
It's not really what I like to listen to but it's a really hit dense album and it's tough to not find yourself singing along.
I thought this album was a pretty good listen. It's a shame that some of the tracks are missing off spotify
Pretty interesting experimental record. Sometimes it lost me a little bit but i enjoyed the listen overall
Really interesting album! It's very noisy and has a really great sound. Occasionally felt like it was taking itself too seriously (Religion I & II) while simultaneously other tracks felt the opposite (Fodderstompf), but overall I really liked it.
Really great example of the indie rock wave in the late 00s, and I think the sound as a whole really still stands up well. Heads Will Roll is an obvious favorite but pretty much everything sounds great. There's sort of a glitteriness that's prevalent on a lot of the tracks here that I like.
Was not able not get into this one. Could not imagine getting hyped to go to a concert of this music but people were probably lined up out the door for a chance to throw ass at these dudes.
A pretty chill rock album, there wasn't a whole lot that stood out to me but it was nice.
It's coltraine so it's very good, it's just a little short, I was a little disappointed when it ended. Not disappointed in the music just the fact that it didn't keep going. To me there are better coltraine albums although id be surprised if those were not also on the list
Excellent from front to back. Everything on this album just sounds right
Just wasn't my type of album
Very good album. Lots of classic tracks and is just very easy to listen to
It kinda sucks but in a way that's cool not sure how else to describe it
Pretty good album, some classic songs and some ones I was not familiar with
Coldplay all kinda starts to sound the same to me. Great if you're sleepy
I enjoyed this, although it's not something I'd listen to regularly. Very varied sound on this
Really good folk album front to back. Songs range from funny to deeply sad to politically relevant even now. Wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did
Really knocked it out of the park for this sound. It's a little rudimentary but the songs are so catchy you don't really care. Tuesdays gone, simple man, and freebird are all obvious highlights
Wasn't really feeling this one
I don't think it was really bad or anything but it had absolutely no juice whatsoever
Can't really imagine spending my life following this around on tour those people have stronger wills than me
It was ok for me. Nothing stood out really positively or negatively
Would never have listened to this on my own so I'm always glad to hear something like this. It wasn't my favorite but I thought it was pretty good
Fistfighting barbiturates for what they did to him
It was pretty unique but I didn't really get into it
Music to drink Stella to
This shit rips
It's pretty good but it doesn't have the juice that funeral had. The songs on this record don't feel as big to me
Did not like this one
Really nice voice, the songs are very relaxing
Wasn't really feeling it, I just think there's more interesting stuff of the same genre and era
Pretty fun album
Just not really a fan of bob Dylan's voice
This feels completely all over the place. One song he's just listing James Bond movie titles
This is music that was scientifically formulated to be included as background music in oceans eleven. Sorta like if Fatboy slim was dogshit
Was just sorta ok, nothing was very memorable to me
Bjork
Very relaxing music but still very engaging
Lots of hits here
Great album, highschool me loved this shit
Didn't think the first album of theirs I got on this was anything special and this continues the trend. Not sure why we need two of these things
Liked this more than I thought I would
Just ok
I don't think she should have been allowed to do the new York accent on all these songs
