1001 Albums Summary

Absolutely love this album. Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is is towards the top of my favorite songs and the rest rip as well. Bass lines through the whole thing are delicious.

New wave generally isn’t my cup of tea so this doesn’t do much for me but listenable

Always found Velvet Underground interesting but nothing that really holds my attention

Boy that sure is a lot of AC/DC. It is pretty remarkable how many of their hits were on this album though

This brand of synthy Brit pop is maybe my least favorite genre out there

Pretty cool, not a genre I really have any frame of reference for. Blending with blues made for a pretty unique sound

This is one that I knew would be 5 stars before listening through again. Good Times Bad Times is an insane track 1 on a debut.

I can appreciate it as an art piece but it’s really far from my favorite Bowie record in terms of enjoying the listen

This is a cool one, I don’t think I’ve heard it before. A lot more subdued and structured than I expected in comparison to the Stooges stuff. Can definitely hear Bowie’s influence, pretty neat

Alice In Chains has never been my favorite in the grunge scene but I was actually pretty impressed with this album. I get bored of it as a genre pretty quick but this was really great. I have a feeling 4 stars is the ceiling for a grunge album without Chris Cornell.

A very good album but definitely carried by the hits - some amazing songs but an equal amount that just don’t stand out to me.

Loved it all the way through, despite having very little cohesion between songs - almost felt more like an anthology. So rare to have a 90 minute album hold my attention the entire time.

Pleasantly surprised by this album. Morissey still sucks though

Very fun, very theatrical, very interesting that I’d never heard anything beyond the title track before.
