Tidal by Fiona Apple
Feb 28 2024

4/5! Songwriting is great. Feels like Carole King meets Patti Smith meets the 90s. In the vein of powerful female singers of the late 60s - early 70s.

The Doors by The Doors
Feb 29 2024

Simple/minimized lead guitars compared to other rock bands I've listened to - heavier emphasis on bass + keys (rhythm). Very easy to listen to / relax to. The second half of the album (light my fire onwards) was more enjoyable than the first half.

Songs were fun for the first two minutes and then felt like they never ended. My dog died the day I started this, so dnf.

Heaven Or Las Vegas by Cocteau Twins
Mar 04 2024

Liked the vibe - didn't understand the lyrics well.

The White Album by Beatles
Mar 05 2024

Okay. Enjoyed some parts more than others. Generally mixed feelings.

Marquee Moon by Television
Mar 06 2024

Very Lindsey Buckingham vibes. "See No Evil" sounds like World Turning if it were on Tusk. Riff on Venus reminds me of a simpler version of "Sweet Child of Mine." Lots of Beatles-esque sounds too.

Billion Dollar Babies by Alice Cooper
Mar 07 2024

Short. Love the guitars. Not as much a fan of the talking/growling lyrics, particularly in the latter half of the album (Sick Things, I Love the Dead).

Disintegration by The Cure
Mar 11 2024

The album starts with windchimes! I'm enjoying it, but the album starts to run together when listening idly.

Disraeli Gears by Cream
Mar 19 2024

Just listened to this last week on my own! 3-4 stars. Enjoyed it but it blends together a lot too.

1999 by Prince
Mar 21 2024

I like the beats. The songs are a little too long for me, though. (I felt similarly about War's album The World is a Ghetto, although I would say this is a big step up).

Mar 22 2024

Very much the sound I identify with the 90s. Love the ending of the album.

Good Old Boys by Randy Newman
Apr 11 2024

Music is enjoyable, subject matter/lyrics are questionable at best.

Murmur by R.E.M.

Pearl by Janis Joplin
Apr 23 2024

Loved it initially, but after a few songs got a little tired of the exaggerated vocals.
