The Velvet Underground
The Velvet UndergroundOverall, I did like this album. No songs really stood out to me, but it was a good vibe all the way through. Some of the lyrics were really nice and I liked the sound.

The album had a good vibe and it got better and better as it went on. It was a consistent sound that had a few fun builds here and there. Sultans of Swing is the high point, but the songs that followed were all good.
I really liked this album. It's got great energy from start to finish. It's consistent all the way through and I'd love to listen again.
This album had some really high notes and I did like the overall vibe, but it felt a little inconsistent in parts. Not in a bad way, just an unexpected way.
Great album. I loved how consistent it was. Loved the instrumental song. Loved the other genres blending in every now and then.
This album is great. It's so fun and quintessentially 90s. I love the experimentation and the consistency. It's got a great vibe. I enjoyed it so much I listened twice.
This was a good album. 'Eleanor Rigby' is the high note with a few other good songs supporting that. As always, The Beatles do a few silly songs too which aren't my favorite, but overall this was a good album.
I’m not a big Elvis fan, but I did enjoy this album. It’s upbeat and energetic. He sounds great. It alternates between dancing and love songs. I probably wouldn’t listen again, but for what it was, I did enjoy it.
This is a slow, sad album that's really about heartbreak, dealing with it and moving on. I really enjoyed the different voices and perspectives. All the lyrics felt very ownable to the women singing each song. I particularly enjoyed 'Wildflowers' sung by Dolly Parton.
I liked the album overall. It definitely took me by surprise a few times with the direction it went in, but it was enjoyable. I felt like I went on a journey when I was listening to it and I didn't know where it would take me next.
This was such an interesting concept. It took me a few songs to pick up on the theme. Overall, the album was captivating as it told the story of Tommy Walker and everything he went through.
This was a really good album. It was upbeat and fun, good vibes and singing. I enjoyed how consistent and solid it was.
This album was chill and easy to listen to, but I didn't find it very inspiring overall. There were some nice moments. I preferred the slower songs in the minor keys.
I liked this album a lot. It was more fun than the usual silliness I sometimes expect from The Beatles. It also had some classics which are always fun to listen to within the context of the greater album. I enjoyed it and listened twice.
I'm not a huge fan of this style of music and it's a very long album, but I did enjoy it. It's good background music. It did feel repetitive, but I think that's the nature of the genre.
I loved this album. From start to finish, it's a masterpiece in storytelling and conveying - and provoking - emotion. I was stunned listening to a few of the songs.
I enjoyed this album from top to bottom. It was fun, it was dynamic. It felt consistent and experimental.
I enjoyed the whole vibe of this album. It's easy to listen to, great background music. I enjoyed all the instrumentals and how lyrics were used sparsely throughout.
This is a fun album. I really enjoyed the blend of the different genres and styles. The upbeat, dance songs were fun and put me in a good mood. The lyrics were wild, but in a fun way.
I enjoyed this album a lot. It's a great blend of 70s punk and more melodic rock. The album is consistent and interesting, full of dark lyrics. You can see all the bands they drew inspiration from and all the ones they inspired later.
The album has a good vibe. It's very dance-y and upbeat, but I didn't find it very inspiring.
It’s a classic, consistent album though it’s only 4 songs. “Sweet Love” is the biggest hit and it’s still such a great song.
This album was great. I listened to it twice and was vibing the whole time. It’s energetic, interesting and such a cool sound.
This was a good album. It's consistently well-written and touches on a few different genres of music. I like how in-depth most of the lyrics are and what the subject matter was for most of the album.
The album is consistent, but almost to the point of being repetitive. Hearing the themes against the upbeat 80s synth is really interesting, but overall I found the album uninspiring and repetitive.
This is a fun album. I love hearing how British metal evolves from the late 70s to early 80s. It's upbeat, heavy, melodic. I enjoyed it from start to finish and listened twice.
Such a great album that fully showcases Billy Joel's beautiful songwriting and storytelling skills. It's an interesting mix of genres too - disco, gospel/soul, rock, pop. I was also impressed with Billy Joel's vocal capabilities here. He doesn't always get enough credit in that area.
This is a great album. It’s chill. It has upbeat moments. I enjoy listening to it.
I enjoyed this album so much. The lead singer is such a rock star. The presence, the heaviness, the lyrics. It’s great all around.
One of my favorite albums of all times, perhaps the best debut album of all time. The exploration, the genre pushing, the content. It never gets old and I’ve listened dozens of times.
I really enjoyed this album. It's heavy, but melodic. It's fun. It has moments where it feels very 80s and a product of it's time, and a lot more where it feels innovative and fresh.
This album was pretty good. It honestly was just too long and felt like it was drawn out a bit too much. The first half is nice, it's consistent. It feels like the beginnings of good 90s music - impressive for 1989. The end feels a lot like The Beatles. Overall, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't my cup of tea.
I really enjoyed this album. It had suck an interesting mix of blues, folk and then more upbeat moments. I don't speak the language so I don't know what any of the songs were about, but the melodies and instrumentals said so much.
I liked this album because I like Soundgarden. It had great moments and I enjoyed the vibe overall, but I found it repetitive, almost like it blended together.
The storytelling leads the way on this album. I wasn’t over interested in it otherwise and didn’t enjoy the songs that are very much a product of its time, but the stories throughout the album were interesting.
This album was weirdly fun. They sound like a dance-y folk band in spooky animated movie in the best way. I enjoyed how consistent that sound and vibe were through the album.
This album is great. It's just Otis Redding covering other songs mixed in with some originals. It's such a good take on all the covers. It's upbeat and full of soul. I thoroughly enjoyed it and listened twice.
This is quintessential Morrissey album. It's rhythmic and lyrical. It's a bit one-note at times, but I did really enjoy it.
This was a fun album. I enjoyed the vibe and really enjoyed some of the lyrics. It was fun!
This album is really fun. It's just goth, rockabilly all the way through. Every song puts me into the mind of vintage monster movies in the best way. It's a cool vibe that I enjoyed a lot.
Overall, I did like this album. No songs really stood out to me, but it was a good vibe all the way through. Some of the lyrics were really nice and I liked the sound.
I knew this album would be great going in, it’s considered one of the best of all time for a reason - it is. The rapping and singing, both at such high levels, is endlessly impressive. The content is really powerful and surprisingly relevant too, even 26 years later.
This album was a good time. It's fun, it's upbeat, it's good vibes. I really enjoyed playing it. Unfortunately, 6 of the 14 songs aren't available on Spotify any longer so I could only listen to 8 songs, but what I did hear was really enjoyable.
I really enjoyed this album. I was only familiar with 'Lovefool' going in, but the whole album is quite a bit more edgy than I expected. It's pop, but in a very indie rock way. It's even got heavy moments. The vocals are such a contrast to some of the music, even the lyrics at times. I was very pleasantly surprised.
This is a chill, smooth jazz samba album. It's great background music and I did enjoy the vibe.
I'm not a fan of live albums, but I thought this landed and held up really well. It's fun and I can feel the energy without it being distracting or sounding too much like a live album. Overall, very solid rock album that sounded great live.
I liked this album. It was high energy from the beginning and even it's longest songs didn't feel like they dragged. The banjo interludes took me out of the experience a bit, but it still made for a solid album.
I'm not a country fan so this was a tough go at the beginning, but as the album continued and it progressed into more of a bridge between country and rock, I got it. It felt very new and interesting to make that connection between what must have, at the time, been two distinct genres. The back half of the album is much stronger than the first. I won't listen again and I can't claim to be a fan, but I see how influential this album must have been.
Such a fun, consistent album. The energy never wanes, even in songs about heartbreak. The upbeat, rock ‘n roll is great and I can see how directly impacted music for decades to come.
I really enjoyed the album. It was heavier than I expected and had a great vibe all the way through. What I didn’t expect was how long it was - 28 songs, 2 hours. It’s full of great content, but it is a bit too long.
I liked this album a lot. I haven't listened to much Paul McCartney separate from The Beatles, but I was familiar with the song 'Band On The Run'. I don't think I realized it was him. The whole album has a much chiller vibe than I expected. It feels very 70s and I really dug that.
This album was much chiller than I expected. It's a good vibe all the way through with some interesting, experimental tracks.
This was an interesting album. It started out predictably (in a good way) like a 60s rock/folk album would, but veered quickly into more of an experimental space with lots of synthesizers and sitar-like sounds. The concepts were interesting and I enjoyed them.
Every Radiohead album that comes up, I wish I'd listened to them all along. This another great album. It's chiller than some of their past ones, but it's still a good vibe. I listened twice and enjoyed it both times.
This was an interesting album. It started off like a standard late 60s rock album, but turned into more of an upbeat carnival vibe by the end. I really enjoyed the first half, but was a bit confused by the second.
This is a fantastic album. Janis Joplin is such a rockstar. Her voice carries every song, but it’s set against impressively heavy music and really blended seamlessly with it. I listened twice and will listen again in the future.
This is a great album. It seems like such a unique space in the rock genre because it leans heavily into electronic music. I've always liked NIN, but I'd never listened to the whole album before. It's consistently great all the way through. 'Hurt' is a hell of a closing song too. I listened three times.
I did like this album. It's fun, it's upbeat. I enjoy melodic, dramatic rock the 80s. I don't know if I loved it, but it's a good, consistent album.
This is a good album. It's fairly chill and consistent all the way through, never leaning too heavy. The best and most famous song is Riders On The Storm which appears last on the album. It's a hell of a close.
I really liked this album. It's an upbeat combination of punk and metal with those soaring 80s vocals.
This is a great album. It's such a good vibe all the way through. It's so chill, but got me hype at the same time. I enjoyed the classic versions and the remixed/remastered ones.
This was an unexpectedly good album. I can see very clearly how it influenced all the psychedelic rock of the 60s. It feels innovative and fresh, but still with that distinct 1960s sound.
I’ve never listened to a Björk album before so I didn’t know what to expect but I was very pleasantly surprised. It’s such an interesting sound, but the beats plus powerful, almost haunting vocals, made for a great listening experience. I really enjoyed the album.
I liked this album. It felt more 80s than late 70s to me which was unexpected, but I liked the vibe.
I loved this album. It’s so dramatic and haunting, but heavy at the same time. Lyrically it’s dark and interesting all the way through. I’ll absolutely be listening again…many times.
It's so interesting hearing some of the early Stones albums knowing what they'll evolve to and the impact they have on music. This album has a lot of 60s vibes, but you can hear the minor chords and the darker, heavier undertones throughout the album. Overall, it's a very good, cohesive album that I enjoyed a lot.
I didn't know what to expect going in because I'd never heard of Minutemen, but I was blown away by this album. I'm a big fan of Sublime, The Offspring, No Doubt, RHCP - 90s punk, ska bands in general - so I didn't expect to find this sound in a band from the early 80s. The influence on the bands I love is so clear in this album. It's a lot of songs (43) and it's a bit overwhelming at times, but overall a consistent, fun, upbeat, awesome punk album.
I was pretty familiar with this album, but haven’t heard it in decades. It was such a nostalgia trip to go back and enjoy it. The songs, the subject matter, it all still holds up decades later. I enjoyed it a lot.
This was a chill album. It's very 80s which is impressive seeing as how it was made in exactly 1980. It's a good vibe all the way through. I listened twice.
This was a great album. The instrumental solos are probably my favorite part, but lyrically it’s powerful and consistent all the way through.
This is a classic album for a weekend. It's got all the hits - Born In The USA, Glory Days, Dancing In The Dark - interspersed throughout with just quintessential Bruce Springsteen songs in between. The lyrics, the voice, toeing the line between rock and pop. it's all good. I really enjoyed the album.
I'd call myself a RHCP fan, but I've never actually listened to a whole album. This was awesome. I never realized how varied their music was - rock, hip hop, ballads. It was a whole experience and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I listened to the album twice.
