Rising Above Bedlam
Jah Wobble's Invaders Of The HeartAbsolute banger
Absolute banger
I love the strange time signatures and the folky feel, it's a real foot-stomper and isn't too long. I love it, 4/5.
Pretty good standard early 70s Rock. Great guitar work from Richie Blackmore and the organ is interesting, but I did find the songs rather forgettable. 3.5/5.
Good album, lots of interesting time signatures and haunting vocals. I enjoyed this!
What's not to like? BB King is the absolute king of getting the most out of as few notes as possible, his vibrato is just exquisite. Lots of wonderful songs played with bags of energy, this album is an absolute gem.
Lovely jangly guitar and lots of mandolin, some serious songs but also quite a lot of syrupy pop music.
I felt this was an album of two halves, the first half had more energy and felt more like Bowie, whereas the second half was a lot more industrial and felt a bit hollow and depressing. I can admire the album for what it is and am aware that it was a pivotal turning point for Bowie, but I can't say it's my favourite album of his.
A nice easy introduction to country music. Some lovely songs and nice instrumentation, I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed this as much as I did.
Didn’t really appreciate this when it came out, but I really enjoyed the Motown inspired grooves, despite the lyrical content being a bit depressing when considering what became of Amy. A great album and I’ll listen again for sure
I adore this album and am always happy to listen to it again. Infectious grooves, great basslines, a very chirpy horn section and just so much joy. Definitely an album of two halves however, the first being much stronger than the second, despite ending on a high note with 'Burn this Disco out'. An album that will always be in my regular rotation.
What an introduction to traditional Hindustani music! I loved listening to this, it truly whisked me away to another land where I felt relaxed and in tune with things. I can see why this album influenced so many artists and I look forward to indulging further into this hither-to untouched world that I have neglected.
A rather eclectic album, some great songs but a fair few that didn’t really do it for me.
A brilliant introduction to Jurassic 5. Funky beats, brilliant rhymes and superb instrumentation. A blast from start to finish.
Some good songs, but perhaps went on a bit too long and the second half was definitely not as good as the first. Decent album.
An absolute thundercunt of an album, could listen to this again and again. Easily Bowie's best.
Absolute banger
Heavy, gritty and super industrial. Gotta be in the right frame of mind to listen to this, but it's a powerful piece of work.
A terrific album - who doesn't like Baba O'Riley? Excellent from start to finish.
A decent album, although I do find Morrissey's languid vocals start to grate on my nerves after a while.
Enjoyed this more than I thought I would, despite not being the biggest fan of rap/hip-hop. Great lyric work, although like others have pointed out it could have done without the 12 minute outro. Pure padding.
An endless dirge, I'm glad they involved into something much better than this.
