1001 Albums Summary

Amazing first album to start this journey on. One I already mostly know and love, full of many of Pearl Jams best hits. Somehow I have never heard Release before, and that was a great discovery!

Not an album I've ever listened to before, I thought it was pretty good. Just not what I was in the mood for today. Not what I expected based on my limited listening time with The Cure.

There's a lot of timeless hits in here, and a surprising number of songs that really aren't hits.

This is the first one I've had to listen to twice so far. This is an incredibly well done album with a lot going for it. This is almost certainly the inspiration for a lot of other music that I like.

Good stuff

First time listening to a full White Stripes album and it was a great experience! What an awesome album!

Complete and utter wizardry, I cannot even begin to imagine what it would have been like in that crowd experiencing this live!

Very misleading album name because you absolutely can buy a thrill, such as this very album! Great from the start, and an amazing beginning to the band.

Amazing album! But very hard to listen to all in one sitting, I've never tried that before. I'm impressed by just how much they have managed to put together with the samples and sounds here. Quite a few I've heard before, and so many completely new ones!

Nirvana has some really good songs, but some of their songs that don't get radio play don't get it for a reason.

It's fine, my first full Smiths album listen and it's got me feeling a little let down.

This is a really good album with an interesting mix of African music with more western styles.

It's a good album and I absolutely understand why it is on this list, but I do not personally feel it has aged as well as some of their other music unfortunately.

Love me some Stevie. This is a great one!

Not their best album, but one of the best first albums of all time. A lot of really good songs on here, but nowhere near as refined as much of their later work.

It's okay, but this really isn't Bowies best work at all and I'm surprised by its inclusion on this list.

The Grateful Dead are fine. This album just doesn't really stand out compared to other similar types of bands.

The spotify listening stats show it all, the first song is amazing and the rest are not so great. I'm glad I've listened to this album, but I don't think I will again beyond the first song.

Great album, one of the ones I grew up listening to. Nothing better than Born in the USA making fun of some of its biggest fans while they know nothing!

One of the best hip hop albums I've ever listened to. I can't even imagine what it would have been like listening to this when it first came out, and just having your mind blown by it.
