Green by R.E.M.
Jun 05 2024

Orange Crush is a song I have enjoyed prior to listening to the full album and is really the only track I can see myself listening to on a semi-regular basis. I also enjoyed World Leader Pretend. Overall I'm not very passionate or excited about this album. The first half felt especially slow to peak my interest. Out of all the tracks, the aforementioned two are the only memorable or impressive tracks to me. The rest of the tracks are only okay. I don't think this is a bad album necessarily; I just really don't think it's all that interesting.

The Atomic Mr Basie by Count Basie & His Orchestra
Jun 06 2024

Nice mix of exciting, high energy jazz ensembles and slower tracks. I'm not too familiar with jazz / orchestral music so I cannot compare it to other albums in the genre, but I can say I enjoyed the album. It's a nice album for passive listening while focusing on other tasks. Some of the higher energy songs had me envisioning animations and cartoons to accompany them. Oh, and I really like the album cover. It's great.

The Number Of The Beast by Iron Maiden
Jun 07 2024

Reminds me of high school. I have a ton of Iron Maiden in a playlist I made titled "high school pretending," because I always liked them but always pretended to like them way more than necessary to fit in with the cool metal kids. That said, it's a great album! It's got some classic hits. Hate the cover art though.

Hot Rats by Frank Zappa
Jun 08 2024

Not my thing.

Jun 12 2024

Some of it is awful. Some of it is interesting. I hated some songs and enjoyed others. So, I give it an indecisive 3. 3 instead of 2 bc of the Beach Boys sounds.

Coles Corner by Richard Hawley
Jun 13 2024

Maybe it's because I'm a sad bitch tonight but I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would.

Lost In The Dream by The War On Drugs
Jun 15 2024

Drum beat's too similar throughout the songs. Didn't really do much for me.

She's got a great voice but this album is just boring to me.
