The Yes Album
YesA truly shite album. The remastered version apparently warranting two versions of The Clap and Starship Trooper (it does not warrant this!). Only good thing about this was that it ended (eventually).

Bit of a mixed bag. Big fan of the rockier tracks like Black Dog with rasping vocals where Page's guitar playing comes to the fore but not hugely into the folk tracks. Don't understand why they seem to alternate between style every other track - doesn't help the flow of the album. Eight tracks - three good ones...
Only previous experience of Fiona Apple's work was a guest appearance on Elvis Costello's "I Want You". Quite liked that but this album unfortunately failed to impress... Most songs very similar with some verging on sounding like they could have featured in Frozen. Not the worst album ever written and pleasant enough to listen to but not one I'd actively seek out to listen to again.
A better album than Led Zep IV in my opinion. More of a consistent flow to the tracks and importantly no weird folk tracks. There are still some weak tracks on the album though. Maybe they should avoid putting the best track on the album first as per this and Led Zep IV so the rest doesn't disappoint.
Pleasant enough, but wouldn't necessarily come back to this album again any time soon. Largely instrumental covers of other people's work... Originality should factor into the listing of these albums in my opinion.
Loved this album. Genuinely original and pioneered the trip-hop genre. A couple of tracks I'd consider filler so doesn't get full marks but really enjoyed the album none the less.
Probably a better band then people give them credit for (me included) if we're talking about their older work. A few decent tracks on the album but question whether it really is one of the greatest 1001 albums ever written.
Quite enjoyed this one, some familiar favourites on the album and a few weaker tracks but you can always get what you want!
Don't think this one has stood the test of time. Really didn't enjoy it at all - was glad when it ended. Praying there's no Scott 1,2 or 3 on the list!
Decent album! Like the incorporation of lots of samples across the album... Some of my favourite Biggie tracks on this one - Juicy, Everyday Struggle and Gimme the Loot. Only downside of the album is some of the derogatory language around women... the track Fuck Me is just odd.
Forgot how much I liked grunge. A couple of belters on this album - All Apologies and Heart Shaped Box. Lots of angst in the album - definitely got to be in the right mood to enjoy it.
Can see how people liked this in the 50's but not great by modern music standards. Lots of the songs very repetitive. Don't think I'll be listening again.
A nice album without blowing me away. Distinctive stones sound without any standout tracks. Some of the tracks fall the wrong side of self indulgence (Ventilator Blues for example).
Don't really know what to make of this album. A nice break from the usual 70's classic rock at least. Didn't hate it but didn't really love it either. Only ever really heard Come on Eileen before and wanted to like this but couldn't get on with the spoken word preamble on most tracks. Maybe worth another listen, another time.
Some of my favourite Hendrix tracks on this album... Voodoo Child, Crosstown Traffic, All Along the Watchtower. However, I've heard better version of most, if not all of those elsewhere. Some unnecessary minute long interludes in the album too which serve no purpose.
Not really my thing but didn't mind it. Liked the inclusion of Tuna Fish from Jurassic 5 on one of the tracks.
Don't really know anything about Jazz so don't want to knock this album however does seem highly repetitive. Kind of music that would definitely add to the ambience of a restaurant but can't see myself going somewhere specifically to see this being played.
Second instrumental Jazz album in a row. Nothing insightful to say, doesn't do anything for me I'm afraid.
Somehow wasn't familiar with this brand. Titular track is a belter. Rest of the album a little weaker but enjoyable none the less.
Awful! Worst album I've listened to so far. Made a conscious decision to listen to every track on every album but this one was a tough one to get through. Very droney and miserable without any real meaning or emotion.
An alright album. Some weird stuff on there - Computer Blue especially. Although nice to hear a theremin feature on an album. Purple Rain and When Doves Cry are decent tracks though.
A belter! Knew every song.... Listened to the album about 5 times in the last 2 days.
A truly shite album. The remastered version apparently warranting two versions of The Clap and Starship Trooper (it does not warrant this!). Only good thing about this was that it ended (eventually).
Waterloo Sunset is obviously a great track but the rest of the album is quite lacking.
Took me back to my youth. A pretty daft album but very enjoyable if you're in the right mood.
Inoffensive but surely not worthy of a place on the list of the greatest albums of all time. Not one track on the album stood out to me and definitely weaker than the White Stripes' records.
Keeping the fact Kanye is a problematic character aside... This isn't a great album. It's fine but not even one of Kanye's best let alone one of the greatest albums of all time.
Suspect this album is on the list because of the novelty of it's recording rather than the quality of the actual songs. Only a couple of these I'd class as Cash's best work. That being said I was impressed with the quality given it's a live album.
This one was okay... Not much more to say really - it's repetitive instrumental Jazz.
Was this meant to be a concept album about the army? Weird... Also sounds like he's impersonating someone. Won't listen again.
Genre seems to change with each track which keeps you on your toes. Didn't really find it a gripping album but was fine.
Wish You Were Here is a belter. Liked Shine On You Crazy Diamond too although a bit long. Gonna give it an extra star for how clean and crisp the quality is.
Don't mind the band too much but this album misses the mark. Reckon this album benefits from being released around the same time the book was. If it were to be updated I suspect this wouldn't make the list.
Fan of the band but not their finest work.
Nicely played but didn't really find it gripping. Quite easy to zone out to most of the tracks bar a few.
Started off enjoying this but after a couple of tracks it got quite repetitive. Not something I would have otherwise listened to so always nice to hear something in a genre not familiar to me.
Couple of belters, the rest of the album not as good but still enjoyable.
A cheerful album - enjoyed it a lot
This one was okay, a little droney and many of the songs sounded very similar however.
Another one of those albums that I have no idea how they made this list. A real nothing album!
Not my bag at all... So monotonous - music for lifts and shopping centres.
One of the few albums have that come up that feature regularly in my normal listening history. Not enough belters to justify five stars but not far off.
One I've listened to loads so probably a bit unfair to judge against albums I've only listened to once but a belter non the less.
Has best chill out album ever written all over it. Not much to like really.
Liked a couple of tracks I hadn't heard before, some of the rest fairly average.
Didn't mind it without loving it. Couple of decent tunes mind.
