In Rainbows
RadioheadNot great, didn’t really do anything for me.
Not great, didn’t really do anything for me.
Nice album, which gets better as you go through it. The songs can get a little samey, but some fun lyrics in there accompanied by some nice fingerstyle guitar. Not bad, but I didn’t find it particularly standout.
Some absolute classics on this album, very much enjoyed
Some good songs in here, easy listening and enjoyable
Soundtrack to my adolescence, great album
Dolly can definitely write a song, nice album
Good early prog album, nothing really stood out to me though
Don’t normally go for live albums, but this was actually a really good listen. Classic Deep Purple tracks with just the right amount of pretension to make it really enjoyable.
Not a big hip hop fan, but this was a decent album - some classic tracks on there, but a good listen
It started off quite well, I enjoyed the first track then everything started to sound the same. Same rhythm, same songs, same ‘just above a whisper’ male/female vocals. Only reason it didn’t get a 1 was because it was pleasant to listen to
Bit samey really, quite liked the first track as it was really atmospheric but then nothing else really happened over the rest of the album. I’m sure people absolutely love it, I’m just not one of them
This album gave me huge anemoia, for some reason the Beach Boys always make me feel like I’m living in the 60’s. The album itself is pretty good, there’s a bit of variety and the lyrics are very typical. All in all, quite pleasant, but not ground breaking.
Not great, didn’t really do anything for me.
Great introduction to a band I’ve never heard much from before. Great album, really enjoyed it.
Not a big fan of grime - I’m sure in its genre it’s great, I just can’t appreciate it prkperly
Classic Bowie - nothing really stood out though, but it was a good listen
Good album with some really catchy songs. Really like Van Morrison’s vocals and the songs are well written. Good listen and will definitely listen again.
It’s just a good album. Don’t need to say anything else, it’s just quality tunes from start to finish.
Not bad considering it’s not my favourite genre of music. First half better than the second half, but still listened all the way through and enjoyed it for the most part
Haven’t listened fully, but will absolutely be returning to it. Great musicianship, really made me feel like I was in downtown Havanna, having a beer in the middle of the afternoon with some great sounds going on around. Loved it.
It’s entertaining to listen to, but I didn’t find it particularly outstanding. The bongos aren’t really a prominent feature (which is difficult to do, admittedly) but you can hear them. ‘Duelling Bongos’ is mostly done on a drum kit too. Probably won’t revisit this very often.
I actually quite enjoyed this - a good old style country album, catchy little songs and good tunes. Not bad, not bad at all.
Started off a bit slow, but actually grew on me as it went through the album. Not a bad punk album, thought the mixing could do with a little work though
Not much experience with funk, but this was actually pretty good. Some great bass (as expected) and the songs were good. Not bad, not bad at all.
This wouldn’t sound off coming from a 60’s crooner - it’s a pleasant album with some nice songs, with Willie’s unmistakable voice. Enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
I just don’t get it. Jazz isn’t my strong point anyway and I guess this is the jazz equivalent of thrash metal, but I just didn’t get it. I listened all the way through and it’s all atonal noise. It’s a no from me, sorry John.
Not bad, very classic Kinks sound and some nice little tunes hidden in there. Didn’t think it was anything special, but it was very pleasant to listen to on a Monday morning.
You can’t deny Mick Hucknall has a great voice. There’s some really good songs on this album, and it’s definitely not a chore to listen to. It’s unmistakably Simply Red and I actually really enjoyed it.
This sounded like a YouTube parody video where someone is doing prog songs in the style of the Beach Boys. I really didn’t enjoy it, it was just a bit strange.
Solid blues album, some good tunes in there but no overly complicated guitar work. Just good solid 12-bar and a great guitar tone. Really enjoyed this one.
Classic Iggy, decent album although not a huge amount of variety but you don’t need it. Punchy, some great riffs and it knocks you around a bit. Good album.
Didn't manage to get all the way to the end, but it was thoroughly enjoyable. Al Green’s voice is like silk and there’s some great songs on here. Will definitely be revisiting
Absolute banger, classic ZZ Top - muddy, dirty blues and obviously the utter quality of La Grange… beauty!
This is a slightly more challenging Sigur Rós album, but it’s extraordinarily beautiful. Heavy, soft, melodic and aggressive at times, it’s a masterpiece.
An interesting mix of minimal electronica and elements of shoegaze, I actually quite enjoyed it. It takes you on a bit of a journey and flows nicely. Interesting album!
I wouldn’t say it’s anything special. Some nice songs, Frank has a great voice, but nothing particularly stands out. It’s very pleasant to have on in the background, but not sure I’d go back in a hurry.
Never heard of them before but turned out to be a really good album. Some great songs on there, catchy melodies and a great voice. Will be definitely checking out other albums!
Classic from the man in black. Gritty songs with that signature voice and performed in a prison, it’s a good album.
Had no idea what to expect from this, it was great! Some amazing drumming too, a good way to while away a Saturday morning.
I know next to nothing about African music, but this was a really good listen. Great beats, simple vocals and melodies and just good vibes all round. A bit short at 34m but an enjoyable 34 mins none the less.
A good EJ album, great song writing and catchy melodies. Would happily listen to it again.
Really didn’t do anything for me, a bit wishy washy and nothing particularly stood out. I’m sure someone really appreciates the musicianship here, but it’s not me
Not really my thing unfortunately
Excellent album - some really good songs on here, Debbie Harry’s voice, it’s really good.
She has a great voice and there’s real soul in her singing, I’m just not the biggest fan. It’s not a bad album though.
Yeah, think I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. Starts out a bit slowly, but once you get into it, it’s a really enjoyable listen.
Nice variety of styles on here, some really catchy funk and a few ballads - entertaining listen, would probably listen to it again to be fair.
Nice album, which gets better as you go through it. The songs can get a little samey, but some fun lyrics in there accompanied by some nice fingerstyle guitar. Not bad, but I didn’t find it particularly standout.
Awesome. Powerful. Great album. Don’t need to say anything else.
Great album, some fantastic songwriting on here and excellent guitar work. Really good album.
I find Bob Dylan to be a bit overrated - gravelly monotonal vocals over a guitar and a bit of harmonica… rinse and repeat. I’m sure he’s a great songwriter, I just don’t appreciate it.
Good album - not really heard a lot of Tom Petty before, but a good classic-rock album, some good songs and his gritty vocals. Good listen, will probably explore more
Not a bad album, and I’d never listened to them before. It’s old skool, but has a really nice vice and some decent songs on there. Quite enjoyed this to be fair.
Decent album and some absolutely classic tunes - actually really enjoyed this!
To be fair, you could just play the bass lines from this album and it would still be pretty awesome. Classic Stevie, real grooves and great piano work. Loved it.
Good album, exactly what you’d expect from Oasis. However, I prefer ‘What’s the Story Morning Glory’
This is just hands down a quality album. Ed Vedder’s vocals are excellent and the songs themselves have some real body to them. Love this album and have done for years.
