Exile On Main Street by The Rolling Stones
Oct 17 2024

I've never thought of the rolling stones to have jazz influences - mainly because I only really know a few of their most popular songs that are solely rock and roll - but the saxophone, the trumpets, the acoustic guitar, everything just makes the sound. And I welcome it. I think that this album starts and ends very strongly; however, there is a small dip in the second half - in my opinion - only a small one though. Despite this the entire album is extremely enjoyable. Most of the tracks are very strong especially Shine A Light, Sweet Virginia and All The Line. I love the blues, swing and gospel influenc; the myriad of different styles make the album sound almost disjointed but connected at the same time. This is an incredibly strong album that perfectly encapsulates rock and roll.

The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails
Oct 18 2024

To be honest, it's not really my thing. Too electronic. There are some bits that I like - very small bits and I recognised one song. I can see why people like it but I can't really force myself to. It's clearly a concept album which is cool. I think that the sound is cool just not my style.

Licensed To Ill by Beastie Boys
Oct 19 2024

I like hip hop. This is alright I guess. Feels disjointed and like they haven't found their sound - makes sense since this is their debut album.

Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin
Oct 20 2024

Stairway to Heaven is great. I also really like Going to California. And Black Dog. I feel like Dean Winchester.

Underwater Moonlight by The Soft Boys

It was enjoyable punk rock, I was having a good time until I scrolled down. 2 hours and 30 minutes is unnecessary, I can't do it. Gets so damn boring after a while.

Reign In Blood by Slayer
Jan 19 2025

It's a stretch to call this music.

Foxbase Alpha by Saint Etienne

Boring - so repetitive

Happy Sad by Tim Buckley

Really poignant, can almost feel the emotions myself. My favourite was Love From Room 109 - just found it so beautiful and calming. The only issues I have is with the over abundance of glockenspiel and my ears are unfortunately not as used to jazz as I'd like so it wasn't the easiest of listens.
