Great, particularly enjoyed Rock Music and Dog For Fire
Enjoyable
Great album, great social commentary. Like a time capsule, transports you straight back to being a teenager in Northern England. Best songs: Perhaps Vampires Is A Bit Strong But..., From The Ritz To The Rubble, A Certain Romance. 5/5
Not bad for a country album, Travelling Man made me chuckle.
Good, particularly enjoyed Never Going Back Again and The Chain.
Fairly enjoyable, not really my cup of tea. 2/5.
Air raid sirens! Decent, particularly enjoyed War Pigs and Iron Man.
Fantastic.
Great album, My Generation, I'm a Man & The Ox were my favourites.
Not for me
A tale of two halves. Some great dance tracks in the first half (Motion Sickness, How Do You Do?, Don't Deny Your Heart & Night And Day), followed by some pretty dull ballads.
Classic
Not for me, a bit too slow and melancholy. 'Cello Song was my favourite.
Enjoyable.
Enjoyable good fun. Favourite tracks: Frontier Psychiatrist, Live at Dominoes.
Really not for me, dull and every song sounds the same.
Meh, 1/5 for Trash.
A Boy Named Sue was quite good and the interactions with the crowd were entertaining but unfortunately Johnny sounded bored and so was I.
Not for me unfortunately.
Expected to like this a lot more than I actually did. A lot of the songs have very grating vocals, which ruined it a bit for me. Favourite tracks: Albatross and Socialist. 2/5
Good album, I enjoyed it all (apart from Mamunia which got a bit repetitive). I particularly liked the callbacks to earlier songs in later ones (Jet & Mrs Vandebilt in Picasso's Last Words, Band on the Run in Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five). Favourite tracks: Band on the Run, Mrs Vandebilt, Picasso's Last Words (Drink To Me) & Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five.
Not for me really, it all just blended into one.
Enjoyed this more than expected. Favourite tracks: Offence & Boss. 3/5
It's an hour of Bjork, not sure what else to say... 1/5
Some of this was fairly enjoyable, would have given 3 stars but disliked the constant references to Christianity. 2/5.
Not really my thing but fairly enjoyable. 3/5.
Maybe it's time to let this music die...
Was pretty surprised by this, it was enjoyable with some nice beats and samples. Favourite tracks: Safe From Harm, One Love & Unfinished Symphony. Would listen again. 3/5
Not for me unfortunately. Won't be revisiting. 1/5.
Once you've heard one song you've heard them all, not sure how this made it onto this list. 1/5 Won't be revisiting.
Enjoyed it more than expected but struggle to take Kanye West seriously. Favourite tracks: On Sight, Black Skinhead & New Slaves. 2/5
Enjoyable without being overly exciting, pretty laid back. Favourite tracks: Check the Rhime, What? & Scenario Would listen again. 3/5
Really enjoyed this, quite different! Dodgy vocals on a couple of tracks but really enjoyable on the whole. Favourite tracks: Bomba & Erzulie. Would listen again. 4/5
An album with some interesting ideas, if not always the easiest to listen to. Stay in particular was fantastic though. Favourite tracks: Stay & Heatwave Would listen again. 3/5
Pretty good. Favourite tracks: Remember Tomorrow Would listen again. 3/5
A slog to get through, some of the tracks sounded unfinished and almost as if they were demos, e.g. Girlfriend which was particularly grating. There are some slightly better songs such as Astral Plane which had a real Doors vibe to it, but on the whole just a confusing album with no real identity. Favourite tracks: Astral Plane & Government Center. Not one to revisit. 2/5
Not really for me although it did pick up a bit towards the end. Favourite tracks: O Medo De Amar E O Medo De Ser Livre & Aprendendo A Jogar. Probably won't revisit. 2/5
Great album. Favourite tracks: Hells Bells, Back In Black & You Shook Me All Night Long Will listen again. 4/5
Not really my thing but enjoyable nonetheless. Incredible that the whole thing is improvised. Will relisten. 3/5
Fantastic, dark and moody in parts and quite eclectic. Favourite tracks: Man at C&A & Stereotype Will definitely revisit. 4/5
Generic, grungy, guitar music. Every song sounds the same. Probably amazing if you grew up listening to it but sadly not for me. Favourite Tracks: Don't Won't be revisiting. 2/5
It was ok, not really for me. Favourite tracks: Waitin' for the Bus & La Grange Probably won't be revisiting. 2/5
Really enjoyed the bluesy tracks over the slower ones but good overall. Favourite tracks: Get Ready, I Can't Hold Out & Steady Rollin' Man Will probably revisit. 3/5
Not for me unfortunately, I did enjoy the piano on Tides. Favourite track: Tides Won't be revisiting. 2/5
Love White Denim! A solid album, although this is probably my least favourite album of theirs. Great to see them on this list and fingers crossed they have more albums on here! Favourite tracks: Back at the Farm, River to Consider & Is and Is and Is Already in regular rotation. 4/5
Loved this, super funky and energetic. Favourite tracks: Stand!, I Want to Take You Higher & Sex Machine. Will definitely be revisiting. 4/5
Enjoyable on the whole but did get a bit samey after the first couple of tracks. Enjoyed when the big band was unleashed more than anything else. Favourite tracks: You Make Me Feel So Young Probably not one to revisit. 2/5
Great 80's post-punk, enjoyed the variety of styles and instruments used on different tracks; guitar, synth, horns, bongos & more. Favourite tracks: A Million Pleading Faces, I Can't Help Myself & Hokoyo. Will definitely be revisiting. 4/5
Had to listen over a couple of sittings but this was quite interesting and different. An ambitious idea that probably gets better with each relisten. Favourite tracks: The Acid Queen & Go to the Mirror! Worth a relisten. 3/5
Enjoyed this, particularly Not Fade Away which I knew from the Stones version but never knew was a cover. Favourite tracks: Not Fade Away & That'll Be the Day Worth a relisten. 3/5
Not for me. Won't be revisiting. 1/5
Not really for me but fairly enjoyable, recognised more songs than expected. Favourite tracks: Sir Duke, Pastime Paradise & As. Probably won't revisit. 2/5
Enjoyed this more than expected. Favourite tracks: Tattooed Love Boys, Space Invader & Private Life Will probably revisit. 3/5
Not a big Reggae fan but this was ok, a bit samey. Favourite tracks: Stop That Train & Stir It Up Probably not one to revisit. 2/5
This started strong and swingy with Let the Good Times Roll and Alexander's Ragtime Band but dropped off towards the middle. Favourite tracks: Let the Good Times Roll & Alexander's Ragtime Band Probably not one to revisit. 3/5
Enjoyed this on the whole, some amusing rhymes which had me laughing a few times, marred slightly by grating choruses on a couple of tracks Favourite tracks: 6 Minutes of Pleasure, Mama Said Knock You Out & Cheesy Rat Blues Will probably revisit. 3/5
I've never properly listened to The Cure before as the few songs I've heard in the past were always a bit slow and depressing but really enjoyed this album once it got going! The middle section is definitely the best, A Forest in particular was fantastic. Favourite tracks: A Forest, In Your House, Three & M. Will definitely revisit. 4/5
Not normally a fan of singer-songwriters in this vein but this surprised me with how much I enjoyed it (and how many songs I already knew). The opening track was the highlight though, loved the way it built in intensity and the lyrics were thought provoking and still relevant today. Favourite tracks: Where Do the Children Play?, Father and Son & Tea for the Tillerman. Will probably revisit. 3.5/5
Great stuff, loved the weird story in the middle about Mr Mustard and Pam. Favourite tracks: Come Together & The End Definitely worth a relisten. 4/5
Varied musical styles and some pretty amusing lyrics. Overly long and not really to my taste overall. Probably not one to revisit. 2/5
Gets off to a bit of a shaky start but the second half of the album is flawless, really enjoyed the run of songs from Broken - Listen. Favourite tracks: Broken, Head Over Heels & Listen. Probably will revisit. 4/5
Enjoyable. Will probably revisit. 4/5
Wow, this was bad. No idea what this is doing on this list, it's terrible and has not aged well at all. Sounded like it was made by a bunch of horny teenage boys, Gutfest '89 in particular was just gross. Favourite tracks: none Definitely not one to revisit. 1/5
Better than I expected but it sounds pretty dated now and was far too long. Favourite tracks: Full Nelson & Take a Look Around Probably not one to revisit. 2/5
Not a style of music I enjoy but enjoyed the concept and found it thought provoking. Favourite tracks: Lost One Probably not one to revisit. 2/5
