Surfer Rosa
PixiesSolid album. Where Is My Mind? is great plus the last three songs.
Solid album. Where Is My Mind? is great plus the last three songs.
I had been meaning to give this a re-listen. Drum and bass solos are amazing. Even more enjoyable than I remembered. Essential listening for humanity.
a sweet little album. Me and Julio is a great song, but not the only gem. Liked Run That Body Down, Armistice Day, and Peace Like a River as well. The reggae rhythms of Mother and Child Reunion clearly foreshadow Graceland.
Feeling bad I laughed at: "I was rollin around, in my mind it occurred / What if God was a her?" Highlights include: Be(Intro), Testify, Chi-City, The Food - Live, Kanye's verse on They Say Good album, but I am not used to rap lyrics/production being kind of saccharine? I could see this pairing well nice with a sunny day, but some of the lyrics are a bit corny.
a nice album. Had no idea she was behind "Son of a Preacher Man." I also enjoyed "Breakfast in Bed" and "The Windmills of Your Mind"
Listening to this was a chore. Flea’s bass playing was the only highlight. Did not enjoy the lyrics or delivery. Decent songs include: “Funky Monks” “Under the Bridge” “They’re Red Hot” “Give it Away” “Blood Sugar Sex Magik” “Apache Rose Peacock” “Sir Psycho Sexy” were annoying.
Amazing album. From "Born Under Punches" to "Houses in Motion" is up there for best song runs on an album. Appreciate the meditative later half- I kind of forgot about those songs and enjoyed the opportunity to re-listen.
It's tough deciding my favorite songs of this album. "Revolution Blues" "Motion Pictures (For Carrie)" and "Ambulance Blues" are all great- especially the violin on the last track. Pretty laid back album with a melancholy / turning out of depression feel. Listening to this now after a lot of Bob Dylan, the last three tracks feel a lot like Dylan lyrically which is interesting because I always though of Neil Young's lyrics as being more straightforward than Bob.
Haven't listened to this whole album in a few years. "Suzanne", "Sisters of Mercy", "So Long, Marianne" are classics. Appreciated "The Stranger Song" and "Teachers" this go around. Listening to these songs back to back in an album does make them sound "samey" although that is a great sound- of Leonard Cohen's poetry and acoustic guitar. Just wished there was a little more instrumental variation throughout.
21 tracks in 35 minutes. Amazing. Would list out my favorites but it’s more than half the album. Strikes me that I have no idea what the signer is saying most of the time. “No silver boollet” “BOOLLET”
Good production and rhymes... but the lyrics are so crazy and violent and full of anger they are almost laughable.
funky. love and hate the crowd screaming.
Never listened to salsa before but this is fun. This is probably the best album I’ve never heard of that this generator has shown me. Highlights include: “Buscando Guayaba”, “Pedro Navaja” “Maria Lionza” and “Dime”.
amazing and wonderful... haven't listened to this album in its entirety since 2017- i would always come back to the first 6 tracks or so, but this showed me that the whole album is beautiful and full of life.
Liked this a good bit. Have no idea where but I definitely listened to Black Hole Sun before. Highlights include: “My Wave” “Head Down” “Black Hole Sun” “Half”
Okay- the more popular tracks are good "Only Love Can Break Your Heart", "Spring", and "Nothing Can Stop Us". But the rest of the album is kind of boring, especially the instrumental tracks. "Stoned to Say the Least" sounds like a free Garageband backing track.
Now That’s What I Call Dad Rock Volume 72 Highlights include: “Smoke on the Water” “Lazy” and “Space Truckin’”
Had no idea I liked tango music like this- great to work to. Highlights include: “Queremos Paz” “Chunga’s Revenge” “El Capitalismo Foráneo” “Last Tango in Paris” and “Vuelvo al Sur”
Peak Millennial-core. Makes me want to wear skinny jeans and a button up shirt with an obnoxious pattern. Highlights include: "Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)" "Une Annee Sans Lumiere" "Wake Up" “Rebellion (Lies)”
Highlights include “Angus Dei” “Crumb by Crumb” Idk this one didn’t click with me- Rufus Wainwright is clearly talented.
Highlights include: “I’m so Bored with the U.S.A.” “White Riot” “Hate & War” “London’s Burning” “Career Opportunities” “Police & Thieves” “Garageland” Amazing punk album. And I thought “Rock the Casbah” was good…
Highlights Include: "Smokin'" Kind of boring unfortunately.
You can't fault them for their ability to think out of the box. More interesting than some of the snoozeville rock on this list. Highlights include: "Constantinople" "The Booker Tease" "Laughing Song" "Lizard Lady" "Semolina" "Weight Lifting Lulu"
fantastic
Highlights include: "What Up Gangsta" "Many Men (Wish Death)" "In Da Club" "21 Questions" Funny lines on this album. A little long though.
thought i would hate this for some reason. highlights include "Rio" "Hungry Like the Wolf" and "New Religion" A little cheesy at times.
Fine to listen to while I work. Not the most engaging though, not sure why it is on this list. I think other albums of this genre could have taken its place.
good stuff- love the drum solos at the end.
Never actually sat down and listened to this before. Started my Beatles journey from Rubber Soul onwards. Amazing of course. Straight pop songs to the head. Highlights include "A Hard Day's Night" "I Should Have Known Better" "I'm Happy Just To Dance With You" "Tell Me Why" "Can't Buy Me Love" "Any Time At All"
awesome album. lots of great songs on this. I think I prefer the rawer production on "Live Through This". still great though.
happy to revisit. highlights include "Excursions" "Buggin' Out" "Check the Rhime" "Jazz(We've Got)" "Skypager" "What?"
stunning. so glad this generator had me revisit this. hard to choose favorite songs but highlights include: "Running Up That Hill" "Hounds of Love" "Mother Stands For Comfort" "Cloudbusting" "Jig of Life"
Now THIS is some good dad rock. Highlights include: "I Ain't The One" "Tuesday's Gone" "Gimme Three Steps" "Free Bird"
Pretty good. Highlights include: “Tokyo Storm Warning” “I Want You” “Blue Chair” “Poor Napoleon”
SO GOOD. Every song is great. Was just listening to this the other day.
been meaning to listen to this. Glad I did. Highlights include: “Blue Rock Montana / Red Headed Stranger” “Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain” “Denver” “Can I Sleep In Your Arms” “Hands on the Wheel”. Wish it was longer!
pretty good- I think I like happy, poppier ABBA more though. Highlights include: "Head Over Heels" "One of Us" "Two For The Price Of One" "Slipping Through My Fingers"
unfortunately a little boring. production and rapping feels comically dated.
great album I had never heard before. highlights include "Victoria" "Drivin'" "Shangri-La" "Mr. Churchill Says" "She's Bough a Hat Like Princess Marina" "Nothing to Say" "Arthur"
amazed at how great this sounds for a double album… never a dull moment. Before this I only really listened to most of the first disc and 1979. Glad I sat down and listened to the whole thing.
wow this is amazing... was expecting "Frownland" but this is much more pleasant but still experimenetal. All the songs are great, even the extra disc of instrumentals at the end.
great album, probably my least listened to of the main talking heads albums. Highlights include: “Thank You for Sending Me and Angel” “With Our Love” “Warning Sign” “Found a Job” “Artists Only” “The Big Country”
