7/10
Never been too big on this style of music but it’s solid nonetheless
I don’t get it and it’s not for me. I suppose we will have many more attempts to see if there’s a Bob album I become fond of. 5/10
I had a pretty nice time with this album. I went into it with little to no expectations and that may have allowed me to get into the groove. In the end, it has a strong start and ended on an okay note. 7/10
I’ll be honest I’m not the biggest fan of this style and sound of rock music so much of my time with it may be learning to listen to it. The album took a few songs to get the gears turning for me so I apologize in advance for not having the most glowing review of this classic album. Also shout out to Run Run Run for blowing out my ear drums at 10am. Favorite Song: Heroin
A solid album but nothing particularly special.
What will be the case for many artists on this list, this is my introduction to Norah Jones. Her voice is so great to me it will be what carries the score to what it is. I enjoyed my time with this album and look forward to exploring her music further. Favorite Song: Don't Know Why / Turn Me On
Favorite Song: I Know It’s Over
I enjoyed my time listening to this album again but unfortunately for Kirk I have to be that guy and still say that I prefer Purple Rain because I enjoy the highest of highs that album reaches over the consistency of this album. When you are comparing the best of the best, it comes down to picking favorites at the end of the day. I'm feeling a strong 9 to light 10. Favorite Songs: Slow Love / U Got The Look
Didn't love it, didn't hate it. Can't say I have many thoughts about this one. Favorite Songs: Some Journey / The Queen and the Soldier
Between a 7 and an 8 on this one. Favorite Songs: You Can't Quit Me Baby / Spiders and Vinegaroons
I’ve never been too into Smashing Pumpkins but I do enjoy a few of their songs a lot. This album definitely feels the length by the end but it’s solid for so much of the duration that I’m ultimately feeling a solid 8. Favorite Songs: Tonight, Tonight / 1979
To this point I am only familiar with a few Bowie albums so I want to thank this album for helping continue my deep dive into his work. Favorite Songs: ★ / Lazarus
I love jazz and look forward to being shown the variety of offerings the genre has.
For most of it, this was a pleasant listen. I just have to ask, why is it on the list?
Essential listening. One of my favorites, can and probably will listen to the end of my days. Favorite Songs: Time / Money / Brain Damage
This guy makes some pretty good music, why didn’t anyone tell me? Favorite Song: Life on Mars?
Frankie isn’t enjoying this album very much
Warming up to the style but don’t see it becoming a go to anytime soon. I think a 5/5 will be an indicator that a full album finally clicked for me. Favorite Songs: Come On Baby Let’s Go Downtown / New Mama
Stairway to Heaven is one of the first songs I remember falling in love with. This album was one of my introductions to this time period of rock and it is likely the explanation as to how it became a favorite and why I specifically return to it when I am bored of my other favorite genres. This album definitely has my vote as the best Zeppelin album. Favorite Songs: Black Dog / Stairway to Heaven / When the Levee Breaks
This made me realize I haven’t heard much music from them and now I feel compelled to do a deep dive. Favorite Song: Penthouse Pauper
My first album with Fiona Apple and I cannot say what sound style I was expecting to hear but it was not this. Happy to share I enjoyed the album and am curious how the rest of her work sounds. Favorite Songs: Rack of His / Cosmonauts
Maybe I’m judging it harder than I should because I know they make better music later (or rather almost immediately with their next album) but I thought this was fine. I’m feeling a strong 6 to a light 7. Favorite Song: A Bit of Finger / Sleeping Village / Warning
A solid album that definitely felt its length by the time I reached the end. I enjoy playing the hits more than I enjoy listening to this one cover to cover. Favorite Songs: Partition / Drunk in Love (Remix)
I don’t know the Stones well by albums, just by their hits so this was a nice first album to begin the deep dive into a band that’s overdue for it. Favorite Songs: Wild Horses / Can’t You Hear Me Knocking
I wish half stars were an option on the rating style because this one feels like a strong 7. A lot of fun songs on the tracklist made this one a breeze to listen to this morning. Favorite Songs: Faron Young / Moving the River
After the start this album had I was a little disappointed that it felt like it overstayed its welcome. I generally enjoyed the cover to cover listening experience but it definitely has some skips. I am interested in exploring their other albums to see if I will like their other work more. Favorite Songs: One More Robot / Sympathy 3000-21 / Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, Pt. 2
With so much influenced from this album (including my favorite album of all time) I’m really disappointed in myself for not having listened to this previously. I knew the hits but had never cover to cover listened. I want to give it a 10 so badly but something in my mind is holding me back despite enjoying the album so much. This one is a solid 9 for me. A classic and influential, what more can you ask for from an artist? Favorite Songs: Mothership Connection (Star Child) / Give up the Funk (Tear the Roof Off the Sucker)
Favorite Song: A Boy Named Sue (Live)
Favorite Songs: Move With Me / Hong Kong Bar
Really really strong start with The Seventh Seal but I never enjoyed another song to the same degree. Easy on the ears but I don't think this is one that will stay in my memory for long. Favorite Song: The Seventh Seal
I found it a little too repetitive to the point that I would enjoy how songs opened but would be ready for them to end when they would have over a minute left. I could see myself trying some more albums from this group to see what else they have to offer. Favorite Song: Sixtyten
Had a lot of fun with this one, glad I could be introduced to this group. Favorite Songs: Thin Line / High Fidelity / One of Them
