1001 Albums Summary

Difficult to rate this objectively: 1. The vinyl pressing of this is very noticeably compressed 2. The songs are so familiar that it both gives them a sense of comfort but also not particularly intriguing. Trying to get past both of these facts, it’s easy to see why this was such a monster hit at the time, and why it has aged so well. Some truly great songs on this. Sometimes the production feels a shade pastiche, but not enough to deter from how good the song is.

Very cinematic sounding album. Works very well as a suite of no particular song would make it onto a playlist. Will definitely check out more of her stuff

Incredible set of sounds for an album of this era. Some real highlights, but loses some flow at points

Forgot how piano heavy this album is. But some truly excellent cuts
